President Herbert walked up to the podium. Behind him was the Government Complex. Atop the building was a solitary pole, several feet in diameter. Adorning the pole was the nation's largest flag, waving proudly. It was bathed in a soft blue light, as was the massive crowd. Several F-19 Turmoil fighters flew over in the Sacred 'A' formation as the national anthem played. A thunderous roar could be heard, and millions could be seen. He began to speak...
"On behalf of the Government, I thank you. I would like to greet the great Asgarnian citizens, ADAN, GASN, CIN, and UNA representatives, and my peers in the Ten Thousand Islands."
"This will be the first World Address made by Asgarnieu, but not the last. The World Address will be made every February 28th."
"Now, on to business. For too long we have been terrorized by the scourge that is Hataria. I believe that I speak for ninety-nine percent of the world when I say that we are tired of Hataria's constant pushing. Hataria is comparable to a schoolyard bully. The nation is led by a weak, constantly PMS'ing "empress" that refuses to acknowledge the fact that her nation is on the brink of total destruction. I am not calling for that. I ask that the world's fair nations impose strict sanctions upon Hataria. There is enough bad in the world, and we do not need another contributor."
[uproarious cheers]
"Asgarnieu firmly believes that its military is one of the better in the world. It has vast amounts of funding, huge manpower, and some of the world's best equipment. But, we have been relying on foreign equipment for too long. It ends now. For the past few years, the primary Asgarnian military contractor, Military Armament Company, Incorporated, has been hard at work developing new equipment for our armed forces. As of today, we will slowly wean our military off of foreign dependence on equipment. Our Air Force, Navy, and Army are to replace their old equipment with indigenous equipment. We will no longer use equipment that does not suit our armed forces.
[uproarious cheers]
"It is a well-known fact that Asgarnieu is a passive nation, believing in peaceful resolutions to conflicts. However, due to the threat of aggression from less intelligent nations, we have been forced to take action. We are highly pleased with the actions taken. We have joined the likes of the Global Alliance of Soveriegn Nations, Commonwealth of Independent Nations, Aggressive/Defensive Alliance of Nations, and the United Nations Alliance. We would also like to extend our diplomatic hand past these fine groups, and start reaching out to other fine nations. In the coming days, a new embassy exchange program will be initiated, with the intentions of aligning our nation with the other nations of the world."
[uproarious cheers]
"In closing, I would like to say that I am proud of our great empire. We have increased the value of the Gold Point, joined great alliances, and have strengthened our great military. I hope that we can keep advancing by leaps and bounds. I am proud of the citizens of this great empire and nation. Once again, let us not put up with the scourge of Hataria. We must defeat that "empire" and restore peace to the world. Thank you."
Chaos fills the streets, but not your average chaos. The citizens begin cheering at the tops of their lungs. Every citizen across the empire stood and applauded the president....
