OOC: This is open to anyone who would like to interact with my race. The Lucionns are a MT country but you may discover and interact with them as FT nations. I hope to develop many character RPs out of this nation... that's sort of where the end of this post is heading.

Deep Space

A small black object hurled through open nothingness... the deep caverns of space swallowed up the meaning of this object. If it weren't for the slight amount of light that were emanating from it, it would have been totally lost in the void of darkness that enveloped all in this area.

Then, suddenly in a flash of light the object began to contract. First slowly, then much much faster. It's gravitational field pulled and pulled, grabbing everything around it that existed and sucking it in. It was a dying star, and it was in the final stages of death. What once had been a brilliant sphere of light, was now a hungry black hole.

Light couldn't escape. Nothing could. The nearby planets that remained from this solar system didn't stand a chance. They were devoured before any living inhabitants could realize what had happened. The planets were deserted though... long devoid of life. There was nothing left... just the black hole.

Aboard Doombringer VI

The small scout ship hurled through the galaxy at an astounding speed, much faster than it typically would on any normal day. But this wasn't a normal day. Yesterday they had fallen behind on their explorations, and today they had to cover more space than average. Thus... they increased their speed.

Suddenly, with a flash of black, a hole opened up in front of them. The men on the bridge stared into the face of death... and it was not a pretty sight. The black hole sucked the ship in, but not all at once. The first half of the ship got snatched up rapidly, but the last half wasn't as near to the massive gravitational pull. The result was a 300 meter ship being stretched into a length of nearly 300 miles. The molecules of every man onboard were literally stretched apart from each other, pulling them to pieces like taffy.

Needless to say there were no survivors.

Suddenly, something happened. As the ship collided with the tiny black dying star, the fusion reactor of the destroyed ship caused an unstable reaction. The star's remaining energy (which was little) combined with the reactor to create more energy. Within moments, the star began to come to life again. The gravity became less and less as more things were pulled in and joined in the fusion. A new star was born. The name: Gargantua.

---

60,000 Years Later

The star had spitted out numerous amounts of debris, creating four circular planets revolving around it. Life had sprung up on the fourth, creating the world known as Halion... the earth essentially. First there had been simple life, but soon several new races had sprung up.

One particular new race was powerful and decisive. They were known as the Federation of Lucionn, but essentially they were an organized community of immortals. They found that they could never die... but they could also never be exposed to sunlight. Gargantua was a killer to them, and it soon became their worse enemy. To combat this problem, they became nocturnal... and adapted quickly with the rest of the world.

Problems broke out between the numerous races, and soon only three remained: The Lucionns, Werks, and X'Ions.

In addition to their nocturnality, the Lucionns were typically found of drinking blood. If they lived on earth, they would be considered vampires. However, typically they were far too sophisticated to drink blood without asking. They did it as a ritual to their religion rather than villainy. Besides their pointed teeth, they looked every bit like a human.

The Werks were a small dwarf-like race who had scaly, egg-whitish skin. They typically wore little clothes and would kill anything in sight. They were a bloodthirsty militaristic race, intent on nothing but conquering all of Halion. With the combined forces of Lucionn and X'Ion, they had been defeated... and escaped into the caverns and caves of the world. There they remain to this day in hiding, but still in number.

The X'Ions were a tall, black race, with beady yellow eyes. They were literally completely black save their eyes... and totally invisible except for in the darkness. Their skin and eyes reflected light, so during the day they were invisible. They wore large black cloaks to distinguish where they were for the Lucionns, though they themselves could see each other in the light. They were an old (often living about 300-400 each) and wise race, always playing mind wars... rather than brutal force. They now remain on the surface of Halion, staying aloft from the Lucionns who they openly hate, but are forced to co-exist with due to the threat of the Werks.

Present Day
Quinnrox, Lucionn

In the small town of Quinnrox all was quiet. Standing on the balcony of an old house on the edge of town, a young Lucionn woman hummed a tune to herself. She started quietly, and became louder and she stared at the second moon of the world. It was purple and had a large ring around it, perfectly rotating with Halion. Beautiful.

She typically enjoyed the simple things in life, but also always had a knack for adventure and action. She was involved with the Federation Council even at her young age of thirty-six, which was still considered in the teens pretty much for the Lucionns.

She was well rounded and fit, a perfect girl.

And now she waited. Aleaa waited for something to happen.

A young man, well not man in the human sense of the word, but male and humanoid sat at the controls to the small craft. It seemed that the disturbance had put him somewhere off his charts and in need of repairs before he could figure out how to get back on course. As the sensors looked for a planet that might have the right materials to make at least jury-rigged repairs, he got up to get a beverage and utilize the head.

The ping of the console brought him back to check the spectroscope. With a smile he brought the craft around and began heading toward a nearby planet that had sufficiant concentrations of the useful materials.

A number of hours later, during which the pilot had berated his interstellar drive for breaking down among other things. Bringing his craft in for a landing on the dark-side of the planet, he rationalized that any inhabitants would be asleep and thus less likely to raise a fuss if he took some of thier planet's mineral wealth.

Landing in a forest, he had thought he'd seen a city but as it was dark figured it was just an odd natural formation. The vessel, as it was strictly speaking, not being designed for atmospheric travel had created a large heat signature and had looked like a meteorite save for the fact that it hadn't crashed into the ground but landed in a scorched clearing. Settling back he waited for the hull to cool so the drones could be deployed to gather the materials and process them. The drones being much more sensitive would have to wait while he took the opportunity to breath the non-canned air and look around and thus began getting ready to disembark.

The presidential order to explore the new star maps of the galaxy was growing tiresome. Raptor after Raptor was sent out to search the galaxy for resources, civilizations, technology, anything one can think of. A small raptor jumped into the system.

"Capt. Felix: Jump number 367 complete, is there anything on draidus."

Lt. Wineland replied, "Sir we found four planets with several stellar bodies rotating around them. No signs of alien ships, no signs of communication or artificial satellites.

The Raptor begins to move towards the planetary systems, actively scanning all of the planets for resources or signs of habitation.

Sir, Lt. Wineland responded, one of the planets seems to be able to support human life.

Capt. Felix responds, Ok take us into the atmosphere, lets do a flyby of the surface, see if there are any life forms on the planet.

Lt . Wineland responds, "Yes sir."

The small raptor begins to burn go through the atmosphere. Flames lick the hull, as it descends towards the planetary surface.

Something silhouetted against the moon. Again, another, one, two, three!

The three Knight class destroyers, led by the PHX Vixen, completed their second low-altitude orbit and scan of the planet and slowly settled into a much higher, geo-synchronous orbit. Captain Jorgenson of the Vixen established a long range communications link with Starbase 70, the nearest friendly installation which was still many light years away.

"This is Captain Jorgenson, commanding officer PHX Vixen, checking in, confirmation code 5042-1D3." she spoke into her communications transceiver an almost uncaring monotone.

The computer voice took over and the Captain began transmitting a series of data burst containing the brief report she had complied and some additional data. After a few moments of dialog with the computer interface she was redirected to the commander of the Starbase's live com-line

"Do we have enough information to make contact?" Admiral Ryan Vrelck asked in an authoritative tone, without giving even the most common greetings and courtesies to the captain.

"Our initial scans only confirmed our probe's findings, I suggest we analyze all of the data we have available first, hopefully we will remain undetected while we do so." Jorgenson replied

"Well you didn't detect any subspace signatures in the entire system, so I doubt they will notice you." The Admiral went on.

"Until such time as we see fit to make contact..." The captain interjected.

"Of course. Maintain orbit and check in with me in 12 hours, all prior orders are in effect. Vrelck Out."

OOC: Nice Picture.

The Flames around the raptor die down as it begins to enter the lower atmosphere.

The raptor begins to make it's first flyby of the planet's surface.

Lt. Wineland, "Frak me sir, this planet is inhabited. I am picking up massive lifeform readings from the surface, and ... a small town."

Capt. Felix responds, "are you sure."

Lt. Wineland, "Sir it is official organic life forms, structures, energy readings."

Capt. Felix, "Begin to take pictures of the town, and the inhabited areas surrounding it."

The small raptor begins to streak across the sky. As it approaches the town, it hovers in the sky momentarily, about half a mile in the air and begins to take aerial photographs.
