Maat Golad is escorted to the Conference room. He is an average looking human, with golden hair and eyes. He is dressed is a maroon silk uniform containing a tiny crescent of star pin of the Taron Agreement above the left breast. On his right shoulder is a black field containing a short horizontal bar, and a solid golden pip. He enters the meeting room and sits in the seat he is directed to.

A small raptor leaves the port flightpod of the Battlestar Hades. It begins to slowly follow the Taron Shuttle to the unknown vessel the TSS Washington.

Inside the Raptor, the "diplomat" and his two marine escorts were nervous. What would this race be like. Did they have a personnal universal translator? Whatever will happen, their lives will be changed forever.

Battlestar Hades this is Raptor one. We are moving into docking position. We will radio you when the the conference is over.

The Battlestar Hades responds:

Raptor one this is the Battlestar Hades. Good luck, and may the gods be with you.

When the raptor lands in the docking bay, Major Vox, and the two marines are escorted to the conference room. When they get to the room, the Major bows his head at the Taron representitive, and sits down in his appointed chair.

Yet another Orca drop ship was launched from the Tau battleship, on board a team of crack water caste negotiators ran through the data that they had on all of the new races, it tk them little time. Their leader, Por'O'Dal'Yth'Kais sighed, usualy when one made first contact you would study their world of origen or a colany to pick up their customs before you met. Unfortunatly that took months or even years to do, and although he Water caste was a patint one contact was needed now. He was thankful that they had data on atleast two of the races. Contact with the Sephrioth had been made months ago and the Colonials had sent a data burst to them with laguage and some history. Kais sighed again, this was going to be a long day.

Silently the Orca docked at its alocated port and the Water caste team, all seven of them, we shown to the negotiation room.

As the representatives enter the room, Golad rises, and introduces himself and takes note of the appearance of each of the different races.

"Hello, I am Maat Golad of the Taron Agreement. Please dispense with the formalities, and ignore my rank and call me Golad."

He smiles a wide smile as he shakes the hand of each representative and his golden eyes sparkle.

Kais shoke Golad hand warmly before replying. "Thank you" he said, the small universal translator at his belt converting his words into ones that the other delagates could understand, "I am Por'O'Dal'Yth'Kais of the Tau empire, specificaly the Farsight colonial systems. You may ofcourse call me Kais as calling me by my full name would take far to long (Kais means victorious in Tau, a name he earned after negotiating with a force of Impeium troops and converting them to the Greater Good which is by no means a simple feat). We have much to discuss, race history and such forth as well as what the long term plans are for this station". Turning away from Golad Kais and the other water caste negotiators began to introduce them selves to the other delegates.

As each of the delegates landed in the hangar bay they were directed to, they were met with two squad of M.I. troopers, the best that they had onboard. They were silent, and exuded an aura of experience and power, their power suits gleaming in the harsh lights on the ship. They were led into a conference room and the troopers returned to the docking bay again and again to escort the other delegates. The room was a lavish yet simple at the same time. It had immense amounts of technology. Monitors covered one wall, showing off different views of the station, and the various ships around it, as well as recordings of the past events. A large monitor was on the far wall, behind the head of the table, which was currently displaying the flag (http://www.nationstates.net/images/flags/uploads/telros.jpg) of the Terran Federation. On each of the delegates chairs, there were seats with comm units, that when they sat down, they were configured to their fleets instantly and it had status situations on them. Also, a screen was on the desk in front of them, which would allow them to look up any information they could find on the ship computers....at least the ones the Captain had cleared for them to see.

Once most had arrived, Virandi walked in, and nodded to each of them as he walked in, taking his seat at the head of the table. Tapping a key, a hologram appeared, which he quickly read and looked up. "Welcome to the TFS Washington. We are but one ship in the Terran Federation, but we will do our best to represent our government. This room is the best we could offer." He shrugged apologetically, and then leaned forward. "So, what is it you want to talk to the Terran Federation about?"

Major Vox rises out of his chair. He was in the standard Dress colonial uniform, A gray Uniform with a Brown Sash. He stands up and says, "I am Major Vox of the Colonial Fleet of the Twelve Colonies of Kobal." "On behalf of the Twelve Colonies, it is a pleasure to meet you all." He then after shaking hands, or whatever custom you have for greetings, sits down, and begins to speak,

"The Twelve Colonies of Kobal would like to discuss the possibility of a trade agreement, and possibly as well a loose alliance." Major Vox stated. "As our Taron friends can attest to, we hold our agreements as law, and aid our friends whenever and however neccesary. We have only recently begun to explore space outside our own solar system, and have come to the sad relization that this galaxy is a hostile place, like these of sephrotih seem to be. These nations threaten, or worse fire upon them for almost no verifiable reason. The Twelve Colonies of Kobal would like to begin to change this attitude. Although we never shy away from combat, we do not desire it. We wish to begin by perhaps a trade of technologies as well as history and cultural references. This seems in our experience to be the standard custom in this galaxy. This offer is to anyone in this room" Major Vox states, and sits down.

After Major Vox speaks Golad rises, and shakes Vox’s hand.

“While this is the first time I have had experience with the Colonial Fleet, I do know that they are loyal and helpful allies in times of need. My people have recently woke from an very long sleep, and have discovered just how hostile space has become. The people of the Taron Agreement would also like to form an alliance of some kind with each of you that would include trade arrangements and other benefits. We are also greatly interested in a cultural exchange.”

Captain Virandi stood and shook everyone's hand before sitting back down and listening to the delegate from the Twelve Colonies of Kobal. His eyebrows raised in surprise. This nation did not joke around, to lay such tempting and very powerful suggestions on the table. He had been granted the power to act in the interest of the Federation and at the moment, he was very interested. Once the Major had finished his angle, he sat up straight and replied. "Well, the trade agreements are no problem, all we have to do is ask the Senate, get some signatures and boom, we have trade. That is no problem. The other things you suggest, however, I need to ask about. For the Federation of course. The standard custom you speak of is not exactly the norm, the norm is trade and possible alliance talks, that's it. A loose alliance...well, I need to know what it would entail, as we do not want to be caught in too many alliances or in organizations not beneficial to the people of the Federation. Basically, what would the terms be? As for trading of technology....I think we can agree to that, but certain technology, on both sides, won't be traded no, as it would breach our nations security? Are you fine with that limit? The history and culture are fine as well, consider those granted. To everyone here, trade, history and culture are already approved. You may download the trade agreement as well as the history and culture texts from the computer in front of you."

When Golad stood up, he said pretty much the same thing. Virandi hid a smile. There was only so much one could say that was different than the other in these situations. "Again, with the alliance, I will need to know the terms. Everything else is fine. Now, if I may say, the galaxy is harsh. Every race is always fighting for their own survival. If the Federation wasn't harsh against it's enemies, I would not be here right now. Whatever it takes, make sure your race survives, that is our most sacred creed. And it has been tested many times, and come true. Also, I would advise you, Major, to not speak of the Sephirothians like that. I don't want a fight here and they seem jumpy enough as it is, with the amount of ships they have. And they seemed to have threatened you guys, so please, keep this nice and formal. Thank you."

Meanwhile, in the docking bay, the escort waited as the Sephirothians exited their Thunderhawk and the escort leader greeted them with a mere hand signal, which meant for them to follow. They led them to the conference room and waved them in. Virandi looked at the Space Marines and raised an eyebrow. "I don't think all of you can fit in here. Brother-Captain, that is your rank, right? You may enter, but leave your guard outside, or have them go to the mess to have something to eat. Your choice, but I am not having armed people in this room. On that note, please leave all armaments outside, thank you."

"Your description of the state of nations is admirable as well as honest. It is true, every nation, and every civilization truly has one thing in common, self interest. " Major Vox stated.

"The Twelve Colonies of Kobal know this more than any other nation, as we have almost been exterminated by our own creations on two seperate occassions. We also realized, however that this one undeniable truth does not have to exclude others. As the Taron can attest to, we have come to terms that has been mutually beneficial. "

"As to the terms of a loose alliance, Major Vox stated, it is nothing more than an understanding between cultures, that we will be on a friendly basis upon meeting in space, and if we see one of the other nations ships in trouble we will do what we can to defend them. This does not entitle going to war, as that would be a true alliance."

Major Vox concluded, "I would never ask anything that would compromise your national security, as the Twelve Colonies would never authorize such an action and neither would the Quorum of Twelve. Instead I suggest a trade of technologies that is not considered vital or top secret.

I extend this offer to anyone at this table. I may seem direct, but as a career marine, I have learned that pussyfooting around, is a waste of time. I am not a diplomat, I am a solider."

Virandi grinned at Vox, the man was just like him. This made things easier. "I am the same, Major. I am not a diplomat, hence the blunt nature of what I said. Now, I agree to the alliance, and the trading of technologies. We will need to meet again to discuss which techs you want to trade, unless you want to do that here. Up to you. I am glad you understand the lessons I spoke of, I can foresee you becoming a mightier nation than you are now. Now, was there anything else you would like to speak of. The alliance thing is of no trouble, as we are always available to help friends, when we can."

Major Vox replies, "I think that we should wait for the other diplomats to speak, then we can agree to any other purposals that they may have. If you wish after the convention, we can discuss our trades. I would love to hear what these other gentlemen have to say about this purposed arrangement."

Vox sits down and patiently awaits the other diplomats response.

Kais had listen patiently to the discussion and after diliberating with the other delegates responder. "On the half of he Tau empire I believe thse terms to be fair and we will gladly agree to such an alliance, however, for the moment we only have the resources of our colanies, for reasons which we will explain when we discuss nation history."

Major Vox was baffled by the eagerness to accept such an notion ofthe loose alliance. After all, no one here, except for the Taron had any encounter with the Colonies, and they knew next to nothing about any of the civilizations represented here. "This galaxy is a strange place." he thought to himself.

Major Vos stated, "I am glad to here that we are all in agreement on the issue of the loose alliance. We are currently constructing a space station in between Coredian space, in neutral territory. I would like to offer your civilizations a place for an embassy there. I would offer you a place at our capitol, but until the Quorum authorizes such an action, and given that the government has placed the location of our home planet as Top Secret clearance only. Please do not be offended by this even our trusted Taron friends have yet to visit Caprica. In time, after the shock of the discovery of extra terrestrial lift is over, I am certain we will be able to set up a planetary embassy."

"As for a trade agreement, the new space station would also serve that purpose. From that space station, we can check goods, and as well take part in free and open trade." Major Vox states.

The Twelve Colonies of Kobal wishes to thank you for your time and patience, and we hope that you will agree to such terms with our civilization.

Major Vox thought, "Why do I have to do diplomacy, this is shit for the diplomats not soliders. Still I have to do my duty."

Major Vox then asks, "Do you happen to have any refreshments on board, perhaps a nice brandy?"

"Thank you for your offer, one moment please." said Kais, then turning away from the table for a moment he placed his hand on a Jemstone inbeded in his right forearm. The jem glowed blue for a moment and Kais began what would seem to be a whispered concersation with him self. After a moment he took his hand the jem and turned back to the table. "I have sent the information on your station to my superiors on the ship. They are prepering a message boat with the data onboard, a construction fleet should arrive with in the next few days. I believe that creating a Tau anex station in close proximity to your own would be a more appropriate embassy as our race is more acustomed to diffrent light and pressure conditions to yours. This way we will have our own enviroment to be able to enjoy and at the same time we will beable to visit the main station to conduct diplomassy."

Major Vox responded, "The construction of a space station for your purposes is acceptable. We only ask however that since the territory is considered neutral territory that you keep the station armament to defensive only. Last thing anyone would like is for neutral space to have an armed battlestation."

Golad sat listening to everyone's words, thoughts, and emotions. It was obvious that Virandi didn't like him, however he clearly was warming up to Major Vox. Golad decided he would allow the Major to deal with Virandi. The terms agreed to have been quite acceptable.

"Do you happen to have any refreshments on board, perhaps a nice brandy?"

Golad was becoming thirsty, too. He reached under the table and watched the eyes of everyone in the room. He concentrated for an instant. A few seconds later there was a quiet, almost indistinguishable, “pop,” as he manipulated the molecules of the air to turn them into two drinks.

He quietly set them on the table, and gently pushed one toward Major Vox’s hand. The other he lifts to his lips and sips. Tayrusean wine, it tastes delicious, though lacking the flavor of the grapes from the vineyards on Tayrus. He hoped Vox would enjoy his drink as much.

He paid careful attention to the feelings in the room when Vox mentioned the spacestation. All seemed genuinely interested. The Tua seemed to have valid concerns for building annex of their own.

Golad spoke up, “With all due respect Major Vox, the space station is part of an agreement between our peoples and Coreworlds. While, you and I can speak for our people, and we have no disagreement with this, we must involve the Coredians in any decision regarding additional construction by other races to the station.”

Turning to the Tau representative, "If the Coredians do not agree to this, then the Taron Agreement will support their decision. In the event of such an occurance, would you be willing to provide us with specifications your people would require? We would then use your requirements in our part of the construction in order provide you with an area with an evironments suitable for your people."

They the Sephrioth delegate spoke
The Imperium would also like a fortress base here.

Golad turned to them, “No fortress construction would be permitted for anything other than defensive purposes, as Major Vox has already stated. Any efforts to construct a fortress or battlestation in the vicinity would be a sign of aggression, and would strain relations with our people.”

Major Vox, Gladly accepts the drink, but was confused as to it's origin. Might I ask Maat Golad, how did you aquire this drink?

After Maat Golad mentioned the Coredian delegation, which he almost completely forgotten, Major Vox states, "You might be right, we should coorespond with the Coredian Government. If they disagree, then I will suggest the construction of a new station within a similiar area." As previously discussed however any attempts to build a weapons platform or offensive weapons program within the placement of the station, will be looked on by the Twelve Colonies of Kobal as an act of war. Such an act I would hope would not be the goal of anyone here."

Virandi raised an eyebrow at the Space Marine. He thought the Chaos ones were weird, but these guys were worse, if that was even possible. Upon hearing Vox, he turned back replied. "Well, I would be glad to put forth a request to the Minister of Foreign Affairs. I am sure he will be quite happy to extend relations. Also, if you need a neutral station, I heard there was one. Uhh, what was the name....Ah, yes Constantine Station, part of the Intergalatic Trading Hub. It greatly increases trade. My government has already seen about getting involved in that but anyways." The Captain heard a pop after the Major's question for a refreshment and turned to see drinks coming out of nowhere. A look of surprise cut across his face, followed by a look of suspicion. What kind of human could instantly create drinks out of nothing.....Putting this aside, he spoke up again. "Well, then I assume that each of you will be dedicating ships to defend the station then? If you don't have stations defending it, then you need ships to fill the gap, no?"

"I understand, if we will be unable to constuct our own station then we will happly provide the enviromental data needed to construct an embassy within the main station. We do not require much of a change, if we did I would not be sitting here, but since our delagates would be spending extended periods of time with in this enviroment I feel that they should not need to feel under preasure all the time, as it is quite uncomfortable." said kais, noting the drinks that had matterialised from under the table. Turning to his personal sheild drone he tapped a button on the underside, reviealing a crystal glass and a bottle of pure Ethonol, deadly to humans but about the strength of a small cherry to a Tau. Kais lifted the glass and bottle and poared him self a small ammount, it would do him no good to become drunk at the table of such important negotiations but a small amount would help ease the slight discomfort he felt from being in the high preasure of earth norm, he then returned the bottle and glass to the drone and urned back to the table.

(((OOC: All, I unfortunately, have become far too busy with work and home to be able to make time for anymore RPing in the forums. I will return, eventually, and attempt to start this over again. This will be my last post in this thread. Good bye, all.)

Major Vox, Gladly accepts the drink, but was confused as to its origin. Might I ask Maat Golad, how did you acquire this drink?

“Its nothing, I always have drinks at hand, in the event that I am thirsty,” he replied with a friendly and sincere smile.

He wasn’t being completely honest, but it was a literal truth, based on the facts. He couldn’t give them the details as the technology was still beyond classified, even though it was in common use on Agreement worlds. Something had to be kept from the young races.

Everyone understood the situation and was in agreement regarding the space station, except the Sephrioth. He knew how they felt even before they spoke.

Mere ants, telling the Imperium what to do we are building a fortress base to defend the station.

Raged flamed in his eyes, what is wrong with these people? Do they not think that those who plan to build the station can defend it? Or are they just looking to cause trouble? Searching their minds he could not be sure.

He reached for Vox telepathically, Vox, I cannot say this out loud without ruining what we are achieving. Do not trust the Sephrioth. It was probably unnecessary, but he needed to keep him informed. Then it happened, it was strong, Vox could have felt it even through the short telepathic message. Only an instant, and it was done.

Golad rocked in his chair, his head slumped, and his eyes glazed over for only a few seconds, but it was obviously noticeable..

He was called, loudly by a powerful mind, a lost mind, trapped within the energies of the Universe. He was being summoned home, immediately, with no hesitation. Everyone was called home.

After his head hit the table, he suddenly jumps up, “My apologies, but I must be leaving. I have urgent matters to deal with in my home system. I am sorry for any inconveniences this may cause. I pray you are able to come to a satisfactory accord without my help.”

He sense Captain Virandi’s comfort has he turned and headed out of the room.

He was escorted to the bay, where he boarded his shuttle, and headed back to Lakorus.

Major Vox stand up, "all seems to be concluded he states. I look forward to working with all of you in the future. The Twelve Colonies of Kobal wishes to thank you all for your time." He was shocked at the ease of this diplomatic meeting. It was simple, way too simple. He thought to himself, diplomats get paid the big bucks for this crap, what a waste of breathe diplomats are.

"Is there any other business," Major Vox asked.

"No, I feel that we have achived a successful accord, now all that is required is final data on the station and leason personel transfer, but this can be done at a later date. I would like to offer any who are intrested a chance to see the technology that we are willing to trade. It is mainly augmentations such as my communicator, though we are also offering access to both Pulse rifle and Pulse carbine's, in small quantitys of course. I think this should be sepecialy intresting to the colonial forces since you are still using black powder based weapons, though I mean no offence by this. However, I think that, from the data you provided on these Cylones, our weapons would be exreamly useful for immobalising this threat. We are aslo open for negotiation on mercenary contracts, as this is our primary way of life." Said Kais, as he and his fellow Water caste members gathered their translators and data pads.

Major Vox smiles. Guns, the first good thing he has heard all day. Now was the fun part he thought to himself.

Major Vox replies, we can allow for that. I would like to offer to the farsight Colonies, our armor peircing explosive rounds. They are chemically based, peirce the target even with armour up to 3 inches thick then explode within the target. We devolped these rounds for shooting cylons. I am certain they can be adapted to your own uses, as you stated you are a mercanary race.

"We thank you for your offer Major.....however, our race has not used chemical propelent based weapons for about 100 years now, instead we use Pulse weaponary and rail gun technology. The Pulse weapon excite a quantity of gas to a plasma state, which is then accelerated out of the barrel using magnetic rails. This provides a pulse of plasma as one "Round" and the adverage clip can hold 32 such rounds. I would stimate that a single shot to a Cylone centurian should cause fatal damage. The rail guns work on a similar principle exept they fire a solid iron projectile, instead of iron plasma, at speeds of about mach 10, though we are not willing to trade rail gun technology at this time we will provide you with enougth pulse rifles so that you can create elite Cylone kill teams. We will also hire out to you out forth battlefleet when you do eventualy go on the offencive against the Cylone's, though this will have a price, which can be negotiated at a later date." said Kais, then turning to Virandi he asked "We will of course ofer you the same ammount of pulse rifles." then turning back to the major said "If you want we have a fully functional holo firing range onboard our battleship, and if you wish we can allow you a hands on test of the pulse rifles, carbines and pistols that we will be willing to trade, as well as a demonstration of some of our more...powerful weapons, such as the railgun"
