OOC: This thread was made in order to keep the regional board clear of this matter. Non-Asians are free to follow the thread if they wish, and even post reports from their news broadcasts and governments, but I'd wish not to make this a global conflict. Also, we've agreed to not have total war since that'd be catastrophic, but rather guerrilla warfare.

As for what's happened, Sebytania has been a socialist nation since I made it in January 2003. Some time ago, a group of gunmen attacked the houses of the parliament and claimed the throne in Sebytania. The president, Ivan Nagunov, is missing and has been declared dead. Emperor Boris I the Great, who claims to be a descendant of the historical warlord Seb'An who ruled the nomad tribes of the area thousands of years ago, has nominated himself the Emperor of Sebytania. Pretty much all Asian nations condemned the coup, and a blockade was established. The Emperor executed 100 supporters of the communist party, and pro-communist insurgents have shown themselves by sabotaging a powerplant near Hamalaigrad, a large city on the Northern Coast of Sebytania.

Now, I'll quote the last messages from the regional board and continue from there on.

I pointed out if there is to be a war with Sebytania, those willing have to discuss it with Sebytania and obtain permission, compromise or listen to what Sebytania's alternative would be.

I am of the opinion that any war on Sebytania could tear Asia apart.

Put it this way. Norf Korea, 4.6 billion vs Sebytania 8 billion would be akin to the world's population doubled, fighting each other.

Throw Cielonia in and Tibetan Aizu and Qudrath as DPRNK's allies, and while Sebytania would be outnumbered in population, if the Earth Federation joined on Sebytania's side it would be MASSIVE, a massive war of near apocalyptic proportions.

It may be exciting to watch for the neutral, and those secretly backing one side over the other, but I must stress that it has the potential to be a never ending war that will take over every aspect of Asia, that will possibly expand, and Asia will know nothing of war.

I (Norf Korea) may spend alot on Defence, but Sebytania evens up this balance by his population, as long as it is a willing population prepared to defend the new imperial government.

Not that I shy away from war, but as I said, every potental for a never ending war that will take over every aspect of Asia is a reality here.

I'm thinking of Asia here, and the harmony we all know...or knew lol.

A understanding must be reached if there is to be a war, as to the limits, what the conclusion will be, etc etc.

I am happy to wage a small-level war in Sebytania, to fund a Communist insurgency there, and I invite others to do so, I think Sebyania will accept it. It's contained at a low-level scale of warfare, and I think this would be more fun to do then waging apocalyptic war that will have reverberations.

As for a Norf Korean war on South K0rea, I have no qualms about annexing a nation making threats against Norf Korea and demanding Norf Korea's 'surrender'.

OOC: Sebytania, you may have missed that both Norf Korea and Cielonia have dispatched naval fleets to near your waters.

OOC: I'm quite much against that apocalyptic war too, and unless Boris gets even crazier than what he currently is, he propably won't be attacking other nations. A communist insurgency is fine to me, and as for the population, well, most don't really care who's in charge as long as they can live as they want, and the Imperials haven't yet started to kill people.

Emperor Boris I the Great is surprised that Asian nations, like Cielonia and Norf Korea both speak of freedom, but are still willing to support a communist regime in Sebytania. Thus, His Majesty would like to know, how can they say that people with 'wrong opinions' disappearing mystically or dying 'accidentally' is freedom?

Emperor Boris I the Great also condemns Cielonia and Norf Korea sending their ships to destroy Sebytania. Any attacks on the people of Sebytania will be seen as attacks on the Emperor and will result serious consquences.

In order to ensure safety within the Empire, His Majesty has given the order to execute 100 citizens who were known to have shown support to the Communist Party.

(OOC: Seby-wise, while the prospect of an apocalyptic war is an interesting one, I'm going to go with the flow and settle for funding insurgencies and imposing economic sanctions. Far be it from me to tear Asia apart for the sake of something different. And yeah, a war of 30 billion people would be a little chaotic and world-ending.)

Cielonia, in turn, questions how the Ivanov junta can criticize the steadfasts of Asia for oppressing freedom while with the other side of their mouths they order 100 people to their deaths based on ideology. The Ivanov junta has no basis for attempting to take the moral high ground. The Democratic Federation would like to know how the public execution of 100 people on grounds of support for the old regime constitutes freedom, or for that matter anything but a common terror tactic.

DFC ships will continue to stand by in international waters a distance off the Sebytanian border. Additionally, travel to Sebytania has been banned from Cielonian itineraries. The ships will remain in place in the interest of keeping a close eye on the Ivanov and Neo Fire juntas as well as to take in boatborne refugees and potentially enforce any economic sanctions that become necessary. They will remain there until such time as the juntas are overthrown or can prove their commitment to providing socially responsible government to all citizens. Given this recent display by the Ivanov regime, the latter course seems unlikely.

While the execution of 100 innocents may constitute an act of war, Cielonia will spare Sebytania its wrath at this time and settle for calling for stiff economic sanctions against the Ivanov junta.

We of The Holy Empire of Qudrath advise that the 5 Imperial Naval Nuclear-powered, Fleet Destroyer Class Submarines have arrived in the Pacific Ocean and are currently positioning themselves at points around Sebytania's coastal deep waters.

The Imperial Air Force Stealth Fighters on-board the Imperial Naval Battle Cruisers are ready to begin 'Carpet Bombing' exercises on the waste lands, but these operations have been put on hold indefinitely. They will, however, begin fight runs over the Capital and the Government Palace for close range photos.

We also intend on proceeding with the same operation over The Earth Federation Colonies as, well, since our Sat/Com Satellites were recently pulled out of orbit over them.

OOC: Just in case you didn't know it yet, I'm RP:ing both the Sebytanian resistance groups and the Imperials.

A man dressed in a black beret, ragged brown leather jacket and worn Sebytanian camouflage trousers looked through his binoculars to the now repaired powerplant of Hamalaigrad. Damn imperialists. We're fighting them with sticks and stones, we need a way to broadcast our messages and get support from the outside. Norf Korea might help us, they're socialists too. He returned to the woods and into a carefully camouflaged bunker dug in soft ground. Another man, who was wearing a military jacket with Sebytanian insignia and blue jeans, stood up from behind a table.
"Comrade Sharapov, I think I managed to get that radio working. Do you want to try it? You can change the frequencies by turning these buttons. Here's the mic, press here when you're ready to speak."
The man handed the radio handset to the other, and the one with the beret began turning the frequencies until he heard what appeared to be a mix between Sebytania Radio Two and a Norf Korean news channel.
"Hello. Can anybody hear me? One... Two... Three... Um, I guess you can hear me. I don't know who's actually hearing this, and I propably can't speak for too long until they find me. My name is... well, you can call me The Voice. The Imperials say they've executed the 100 communist supporters in order to maintain peace within the nation. Is there peace? Young boys are drafted to the army to be brainwashed, and the Imperial Guard abducts people from their homes because they're 'suspected communists'. We must not tolerate this oppression. The powerplant in Hamalaigrad was just a start. Under the ground, in the woods, even in the middle of cities, people are fighting. Fighting against the oppressors, in whatever ways they can. Join the resistance now. Together, we can drive the imperials out of our country for good and restore peace. What is it you say Vladimir? Set the explosives and let's go!"
A voice of papers being taken quickly was heard through the radio, followed by a silence. Soon, the listeners could hear a heavy door being detonated off, followed by a loud voice:
"Damn! They have escaped! Search the bunker for intelligence. What's this? Their transmitter. What's that? Holy shit!"
A noise could be heard and then nothing again for a while. Then, the radios receiving the message returned to their normal programs.

Somewhere In Sebytania....

She, all 28 years of her, sat on the forest floor, cross-legged and resting peacefully, the sun's rays filtering through the high canopy to create a dappled effect on the forest floor below, and creating a gentle warming sensation on her face, a face that was of recognisable Norf Korean ethnicity.

Jin was 5 Foot 4 tall, and of slight build, and dressed in green brown combat trousers, boots, T-shirt, Hoodie and parka coat, and she and her husband Jung who had both been co-ambassadors for Norf Korea in Sebytania were in a different situation then they were now, only a short time ago.


It was all routine, perfectly routine. Jin and Jung, the main diplomatic duo that was The Democratic People's Republic Of Norf Korea's offering to it's ally, The Soviet Union Of Sebytania, of diplomats in Sebytania's capital to represent Norf Korea's allied status.

The married pair, cast somewhat foreboding figures them both, as they dressed each day in the compulsory wearing of the Soviet-style Norf Korean military parade uniform, a smart if sinister looking brown-red uniform of tunic, breeches, black jackboots and black leather gloves and a huge cap with the Norf Korean Star emblazoned on it, but always the couple and their diplomatic staff were courteous to any Sebytanian they came across, although they both were not ones for emotion or sentiment, and like all Norf Koreans were blessed or cursed, depending on one's personal opinion and perception, by their robotic cold logic, dedication, and calmness, whatever situation arose.

And so it was that a coup was attempted by obscure Sebytanian imperialists on the Sebytanian parliament, and Sebytania itself, and had succeeded, causing The Soviet Union Of Sebytania, as it had been known, to collapse, to be reborn under a deluded individual known as Boris, and his cohorts who helped him reign.

The Norf Korean diplomatic staff did not lose their heads in this time of uncertainty, turmoil and danger for Sebytania, and Jin had calmly rang The Foreign Ministry Of The Democratic People's Republic Of Norf Korea over her secure mobile phone, which through a network of Norf Korean satellites used for intelligence gathering and diplomatic secrecy, provided a secure, unhackable line of communication.

The instructions were clear. Everybody but Jin and Jung were to leave Sebytania. The married couple would escape into the countryside with the newly created Sebytanian resistance, and once safe, ring a number for The Ministry Of State Security, to reach Foreign Affairs personnel.

It had just so happened that armed Sebytanians had come to the gates of The Norf Korean embassy seemingly begging for sanctuary from Sebytanian police and military elements hunting them for being communists.

After a tense moment, the Norf Korean diplomatic staff allowed these refugees in their own country into the embassy grounds, although for a while under armed guard in case they were in fact a ploy to allow a imperialist storming of the Norf Korean embassy.

The refugees explained they were well-armed, but outnumbered by the imperialists.

The armed Norf Korean diplomatic staff and insurgents had left their embassy in exodus, (not before the Norf Koreans had destroyed all things in the embassy not wanting to fall into the wrong hands) and had left for the Sebytanian capital's airport, where Jin, dressed like the other Norf Koreans in her military uniform that added more authority and demanded respect, had told any Sebytanians that had tried to intervene that the repurcussions from The Democratic People's Republic Of Norf Korea for such actions would be severe, causing such would-be interferers to shrink away.

30 of the diplomatic staff had then left safely on a Norf Korean-chartered plane for home, leaving Jin and Jung with the insurgents, who were charged with leading the Norf Korean married couple to the Sebytanian countryside.

Many days and nights of escapades had led them now into the countryside to help the insurgents, but there was a reason why Jin and Jung had been chosen to be with these particular insurgents.

One was that Jin and Jung both were familiar with the Sebytanian language, and the country itself as ambassadors, another was that both Jin and Jung, as part of the compulsory military service that all Norf Koreans had to undertake, had seen action with the Norf Korean People's Army in the vast regions of Norf Korea against varied groups wanting independence, varied factions that were always crushed with ease after their little uprisings which the outside world knew little, if at all, of.

Now they were the shoe on the other foot. Tasked with making sure the insurgents in Sebytania were not crushed.

Jung had been Jin's superior officer, and both had fallen deeply in love, in the unromantic way that was Norf Korean tradition. Jung was twenty years Jin's senior, but that did not matter, for their bond was forged on the battlefield, as they then both joined The Norf Korean Commandos.

Seeing the vast regions of Norf Korea outside of the usual and obvious like Pyongyang and Seoul had made them both passively curious to see all of it, and in that, they were a unique pair, but they did not achieve their dream by means of predictable tourism -instead joining The Ministry Of State Security, a large and all-pervasive organisation tasked with both domestic security and foreign intelligence gathering, and the cruel and sinister nemesis of any opponent of 'The Great Leader' and his regime.

Their missions took them into the far-flung corners of Norf Korea, and they saw many of the beauties of their country that made them absorb it in that characteristic tranquil manner of Norf Koreans.

Jin and Jung had then joined the The Foreign Ministry, and they had not long been in the Ministry when they were assigned to Sebytania as ambassadors.

They had picked up the Sebytanian language in quick order, and had set to absorbing customs and places and people.

This was why Jin and Jung had both gone off a little way in the Sebytanian forest, had changed out of their military uniforms and had changed into clothes of what Norf Koreans would call a non-uniform nature, kept in case of an emergency.

The need now was to wear not uniforms to make a formiddable impression, but one of equality with the Sebytanian insurgents in their clothing.

And so it was that Jin now sat cross legged on the forest floor, warmed by the sun's benevolent glow, her eyes half-closed, her face impassive.

But it was Jin and Jung's weaponry that differed from the insurgents.

In Jin's lap, and in her grip, was a high calibre automatic rifle that doubled as a sniper rifle and a machine gun.

Jung had a similar weapon. They had lots of ammunition, and grenades, left behind by the other Norf Korean diplomatic staff.

Jin opened her eyes, and looked calmly at her Satnav and her mobile that was on the forest floor. They were fully charged, thanks to the solar power capability to charge the batteries.

She picked it up and looked at Jung, who was on watch alongside some other insurgents.

Instantly, Jung looked in Jin's direction, who held held up her mobile phone.

Jung knew what she was going to do.

Ok. he nodded, his soft grey eyes looking at her with affection, a possible hint of a smile on his face.

Despite Jung being twenty years older, it was Jin who seemed to be the one who made the decisions of the two, not that Jung complained. Jin was determined but calm, and had a character and understanding of things beyond her ears, and Jung loved that about her. Jung was relaxed, and followed her lead.

Jin busied herself dialling the number she had been told to ring on her mobile phone.

"Speak Comrade." said the cold, almost metallic voice on the other end of the line.

Jin impassively gave the satellite co-ordinates of her position, how many insurgents they were with her and Jung, and what they needed. Weaponry, food and water, all of which would run out eventually.

The voice on the other end of the line, the voice that was the contact to Jin and Jung of The Ministry of State Security told her where the rendez-vous would be for weaponry, food and drink, and what time to expect it.

Then the line went dead.

Jin shut the phone and the SatNav quietly and without getting up, and in a hushed and calm tone, told Jung what the voice had said.

Jung nodded and smiled reassuringly.

Jin smiled timidly back, a smile she only reserved for Jin, her brown eyes glittering bright underneath her jet black fringe of hair.

Norf Koreans were not prone to emotion, or smiling, but Jung had a gentle soul he only fully showed to Jin, and as well as smiling to Jin, he made Jin herself smile, nobody else could have done it, except her father perhaps, not that she could remember.

In that sense, Jung was one in 4.6 billion.

And Jin loved him for that.

Viewers across The Democratic People's Republic Of Norf Korea had certainly heard the broadcast of the insurgents, and had voiced their support and had hissed and growled as the imperialists interrupted the broadcast.

Intelligence monitors had picked up the broadcast, and forwarded the position of the radio broadcast on to the higher echelons of The Ministry Of State Security, and the The Great Leader's close circle.

It was agreed that for any weapons to be delivered to the radio broadcasting insurgents, they needed to broadcast again, and from an area of safety, so the weapons would not fall into enemy hands.

yea...that sounds like a plan. i would have really liked if by now some other people joined in this rp. it getting kinda stale with jus the 3 or 4 of us.

These have proven to be credible information. It will be sent to Norf Korea via carrier and not using the secure lines. We do not want these to fall into the wrongs hands, like other nations for example. We owe at least that much to the true ruler of Sebytania. Our carrier jet will leave the Holy Empire of Qudrath for DPRNK within the hour.

We are also considering asking permission from near-by friendly nations to allow the temporary construction of a refueling and re-stocking base for the Imperial Fleets now positioned in the Pacific Ocean. If not, then consideration must be made to mobilize immediately, re-fueling tankers for the fleet, as fuel and suppliers are running at a very low rate.

OOC: Seems quite surprising that your nation just hacked all of Sebytania's government databases just like that, even though the Soviet regime was quite good in hiding stuff from just about everyone. So let's assume there is some false information included too, though your nation does not know it.

Domestic terrorist cells are trying to return the times of murder and misery to Sebytania, with their latest actions including numerous sabotage operations on electricity wires, powerplants and other civilian targets, and also interfering with Sebytanian radio channels. It has also come to the attention of the Empire that these terrorists broadcasted their hate propaganda to the Dictatorship of Norf Korea, which continues to symphatise with these murderers. Thus, the Emperor would personally like to make sure the Norf Korean dicator knows that Sebytania's domestic issues are none of his, or any other country's for that matter, business.

The Imperial databases were attacked by unknown forces last night. The Imperial Guard suspects pro-communist terrorists operating outside of the country are behind the attack. Luckily, no data was destroyed.

Night had descended.


Jin and Jun and the insurgents with them stood in a wide semi circle around the rendez-vous given by Jin's phone contact.

Although Jun was the highest ranking military officer out of those gathered, he had, characteristcly, allowed Jin to give the orders to the enthusiastic if ill-disciplined Sebytanian insurgents that had been with them since the escape from Sebytania's capital city.

When they had reached the rendez-vous Jin had ordered the insurgents to make a large semi circle to await the contact and to counter an ambush by enemy forces.

Jin had explained, without dramatics, but in the straightforward Norf Korean manner, that gathering as one mass of people would leave them open to be killed by a ambush.

The would-be insurgents did not argue with the slight, beautiful but unsmiling tough looking Norf Korean girl.

The semi-circle was organised in a manner that also avoided any chance of friendly fire.

Now Jin and Jun stared stone-faced at the sea. The insurgents copied.

The RZ point was a shore, with the dark tide lapping softly at the sand.

It was a cloudy night, and a chill was in the air, and a wind had picked up, swirling leaves off trees and into the night.


Suddenly the blackened water made a slight hissing sound, the sound coming from a particular spot where the surface began to froth, spreading across the water.

The wind whipped Jin's hair underneath her hood against her cheeks as the water parted, giving way as a dark, wet and metallic sleek object of about 25 feet long arose from the murky depths.

It was a submarine, or rather, a minisub, used for secret operations by the Norf Koreans and built to a design that minimised sound and sonar signature.

A small rocky pennisula jutted out to the sea, and the minisub arose alongside, Jin moving to it now, her rifle in her hands.

Jun marshalled the semi circle of insurgents to move in closer while still forming a counter against an ambush.

The path of rocks upon the penninsula could hold two to three people astride and Jin trotted surefootedly and elegantly across the surface to alongside the minisub.

Jun admired her from afar as she threw her hood back, her jet black hair waving wildly in the wind.


Oh, you are beautiful Jin, Jun thought, his grey and slightly smiling eyes watching her, his heart aching in the joy of the knowledge he possessed that she loved him as much as he loved her, even though she might not show it always.


Jin had thrown her hood back to reveal to the minisub crew that she was Norf Korean and the arranged RZ contact for them.

The minisub hatch opened, and the captain of the sub poked his head up, no expression on his face as looked Jin up and down.

Jin allowed her rifle on her belt to hang against her chest as she saluted, her left arm raised, belt at the elbow, her left hand in a clenched fist.

"Hail Great Leader!" she shouted above the wind, her face emotionless as the wind made lashed at her hair her face and her body, which stood firm upon the rocks.

The submarine captain returned the fist gesture, his face unsmiling. "Hail Great Leader!"

He stared at her, then-

"ALL HANDS! BRING UP THE SUPPLIES!" he bellowed downwards.

He climbed out, on to the submarine's roof.

In quick order, men and women of the Norf Korean minisub poured out with crates of weaponry- rifles, sniper rifles, light and heavy machine guns, mortars, grenades, anti-tank and anti-aircraft weaponry and corresponding ammunition, as well as night vision, infra-red and UV goggles, and food and water supplies to last a while.

Efficiently, but without emotion, the Norf Korean crew formed a chain along the penninsula, like an army of ants in uniform organisation, passing the supplies along the chain to the semi-circle of excited Sebytanian insurgents.

Jin placed herself with the insurgents, on one side of the semi-circle, Jun on the other side, to maintain discipline and combat readiness of the militia.


Soon the supplies were all with the insurgents.

Jun escorted the insurgents deeper into the forest with their supplies.

"HAIL GREAT LEADER!" the submarine crew shouted in uniform unison, expressionless.

"HAIL GREAT LEADER!" Jin replied, unemotional in return.

The crew dissapeared into their submarine, and hatch closed, submerged, the dark mass of the sea being it's cloak.

Jin watched, impassive, pulling her hoods of her hoodie and parka coat over her face as the wind howled, before calmly turning to catch up with Jun and the Sebytanian rebels.


Meanwhile....


A cheery voice broke Jun's concentration on his task of helping the insurgents moving the supplies.

"Not a smiling type of people, are you?"

Jun looked down at the source of the voice as he walked.

It was one of the Sebytanian rebels, a short rotund middle-aged man, an excited smile on his round face as he jogged alongside Jun’s stride.

The man reacted to Jun's stony stare.

"Come on, we're suited and booted now! We'll teach those Imperialist bastards a lesson!" the man cried happily, not breaking his stare back.

Jun's expressionless face did not change as he continued to peer at the rebel.

The Sebytanian man's grin faded, and he frowned.

"Sullen bastards, you Norf Koreans." he said haughtily. "Remind me never to invite you to a party."

and with that, the Sebytanian sauntered off with his load of supplies, catching up with his friends.

Jun stared emotionless after the man, then back to his task at hand.

Soon they all stopped and hid the supplies, setting up camp and a security perimeter.

Vladimir Sharapov, who had recently fled from the imperials tracing his radio broadcast, stood in the edge of an opening in a forest some 100 kilometers south of Hamalaigrad. The sky was free of clouds and it was freezing cold. Vladimir turned the collar of his Sebytanian military jacket up and waited. Suddenly, he heard someone walking in the snow. The ex-special forces soldier crouched down and made sure his assault rifle was loaded. Soon, he saw a man in civilian clothes walk out of the forest in front of him and stop in the centre of the opening. The man whistled, trying to imitate a bird. Vladimir stood up, checked his surroundings and walked towards the man, still scanning the horizon with his rifle. He looked at the man, who could now be seen clearly in the moonlight. He was in his early sixties, almost bald and had a scar on his left cheek. The man was dressed in typical Sebytanian clothing in those areas; old blue jeans, a black leather jacket, and a fur cap. A pistol grip could be seen from the pocket of his jacket, and a binocular was hanging from his neck. Vladimir looked to the old man's eyes and said:
"Comrade Lieutenant Isotov, I assume?"
"That's right."
"From what I've been told, you have some information that might interest us."
"Could be. But how do I know you're not an Imperial agent? Can I trust you?"
"You are a wise man, comrade lieutenant. Maybe this proves my trustworthiness?"
Vladimir took out his black beret and showed the Special Operations cockade to the lieutenant. The older man nodded.
"Ah well. But it is not safe to talk here. The imperials will see my footprints on the snow and come check what's going on. Do you have a base camp set up somewhere?"
"Yes. Come with me. But I must take your weapon, just in case..."
"I understand."
The lieutenant handed his pistol to Sharapov and the two men walked off. They took two pairs of skis that Vladimir had taken with him and skied away, while carefully covering their tracks with a pine branch.

It shows that the site, which is again, supposed to be abandoned, has energy output readings of a automotive manufacturing plant. (Just a reference, and not what we suspect it is.) We have also recorded last night, itself, high powered, black river boat, traffic to and from the site.


Our advisers have recommended that this site is indeed an arms depot and small missile factory. Although the missiles are not nuclear powered at this location. We also recommend that we initiate an air strike at against the said site and demolish the building completely before any major weapons are manufactured.

We will commence an Imperial Air Strike on Sebytanian soil at 2100 hours tomorrow. We will run our 'Carpet Bombing' exercises for this operation using our stealth bombers.

We await further council, and if not, then we shall proceed as normal.

Again, this is going on the basis that the information was credible and not falsely input to distract us. I think it should be a real site as we described. We plan to do the same operation on another site soon. We recommend that that site be false. but not a civilian occupied building. Sebytania.

OOC: Sure, make it a real depot, though I wouldn't say carpet bombing right away would be very wise politically, seeing as it could and would be viewed as a delcaration of war. Spec Ops work, for sure, as then the Imperials would just think it's another insurgent attack.

After about a hour of skiing, Vladimir Sharapov and his companion entered a roughly built bunker. Vladimir set his rifle to a corner and sat to a bench nearby. He made a gesture towards the older man to sit opposite to him, and the retired lieutanant did as asked. Sharapov looked at him with his green eyes and started speaking:
"Now, what's this information you wanted to give me, comrade Isotov?"
Isotov pulled out a map of Sebytania and spread it on the table. He put his finger on the map on the northern coast.
"As you might or might not know, I used to work as an Airborne scout when I was younger. Now, after the imperials took power, I decided to leave my home so I wouldn't have to fight for that... what's his name again... Boris. So, I happened to be on a walk here on the coast, when I noticed something quite strange. It was dark so I couldn't see much, but it appeared there was a submarine that came to the coast and brought in supplies. I assume the Imperials are getting support from the outside. So, the submarine crew unloaded the stuff and then about 10 men came from the woods and started to carry the crates. I think I also heard the submarine crew shout something in a foreign language. Didn't recognize it, though."
Sharapov looked at the map for a while, without saying a word. Then, he looked up to the lieutenant.
"We must get a hold of those supplies, so we can arm ourselves properly! Did you see where they went?"
"Well, as you can propably understand, I didn't hang around for too long, but they seemed to be going south. I think I could take you to the place if you want."
"Great. I must inform the others. We haven't used the radio since our last broadcast, so we must pick them up personally. Don't worry, I have a platoon of men hidden in this forest and more outside, yet it won't be enough to kick the Imperials out of our country. But now, it's getting late, we'd better sleep a few hours. Ivanov, you take the first guard!"
Sharapov showed the lieutenant a place where he could sleep, handed him a rifle from a crate - just in case - and climbed to his bunk with his own weapon.

Somewhere In Sebytania....

It was while they were setting up the security parameter of the camp for the night that Jin took Jun aside, and told him what she saw while they were unloading the supplies from the submarine.

"We had an observer." Jin said in a calm and unhurried tone, "A man on the coast watching us."

"The enemy?" Jun said in a flat tone.


Jin shook her head once. No.

"I don't think so. He seemed to have been taken by surprise, just walking along. He hid and watched us. He was not wearing a uniform. I would say he was an insurgent, although we must not assume. I did not pursue him in case he led me, and you who would have followed to find me, into a trap."

Jun nodded. "And he did not approach us-".

"Because we and the submarine crew were foreigners to him." Jin interrupted, in more of a conclusion than theory.

Jun nodded, a look of concentration on his face.

"He could be an enemy scout, and will report back on our numbers-" Jun thought out loud.

"-Which is why we should prepare for an attack whatever the case." Jin finished, her face serious. "Either way, we should expect company, as always."

Jun stared at Jin and broke into a smile. She knew him too well, and had a habit of finishing his sentences. They knew what each other thought about situations. They were in tune.

Jin did not smile back. Her face was emotionless.

Jun's smile faltered, and he knew why his smile was not returned by her shy one.

I should have spotted him, he thought. I'm better trained than this! I should have spotted him!

Jun scolded himself for his ill discipline. Besides trying to manage ill-disciplined insurgents, he had kept his eyes on Jin for his own satisfaction and love for her. Inappropiate and dangerous on such an operation like this.

Jun showed no sign of his inner angst, but was embarrassed.

"I had to watch the insurgents-" Jun began, and stopped.

Jin silently stared at him, emotionlessly.

"We should prepare our defences." Jin said in a flat tone, and walked away.

Jun stared after her, feeling ashamed.

It would have been better if they had more time for the insurgents with them to get used to the Norf Korean weaponry, but they would have to make do.

Company was expected.
