The United States of Shalrirorchia has initiated a new contracting cycle for the S.D.F. or Shalrirorchian Defense Force.

S.D.F. is one of the premier military forces in the world. The Defense Force is the designation for all three branches of the Shalrirorchian military. The current contract is specifically underwritten by the Army, pursuant to Section 14.2 of the Defense Appropriations Bill.

CONTRACT REQUIREMENTS:

The United States' last conflict (the Second ADN War) resulted in a high number of casualties in the armored OMGs (Operational Maneuver Groups). The Shalrirorchian Super Crusader Tank Mk 2 was a surprising victim of the campaign. Shalrirorchian MBT (Main Battle Tank) losses against the now-defunct Lubilijanan state were startling, especially in light of the fact that Lubilijana's military was not the largest in the region.

The Army has recognized that in light of the losses sustained, Shalrirorchian armor in its' current design is unable to keep pace with the rapid deployment of anti-tank weapons in the world. Consequently, the Army has opened bids for the design of a next-generation MBT to either supplement or replace the Super Crusader MBT.

The new tank must:

-Be able to uplink with Shalrirorchia's MILSTARS global combat information network.

-Must have AT LEAST the same firepower as the current 120mm Mk2 cannon mounted on the Crusader.

-Must have superior defensive capabilities to the Crusader. Defense against both tank-borne weapons and LAW/anti-vehicle missiles is considered.

-Must be reliable.

WHAT THIS MEANS (OOC)-

I am searching for a new design for the Shalrirorchian tank fleet. I do not like the vast numbers often seen on Nationstates (like deploying 50 aircraft carrier battlegroups). To get around this extreme dislike, Shalrirorchia tends to build smaller numbers of highly advanced and effective weapons and puts them in the hands of INTENSELY trained soldiers. That is how I prefer to represent my military power on the battlefield...not unleashing 100 million soldiers into some local, backwater conflict.

Shalrirorchia is seeking rights to both design and production. I.E., they want to pay a premium so that they are the only ones using this tank, and so that future distribution to any Shalrirorchia-bloc nations can be controlled by Shalcoria.

A design diagram would be nice, but is not required. Detail in the stats is also nice, but you do not need to go overboard in that department on my account.

SIDE NOTE: This is the first time in U.S.S. history in which military contracts have been opened in full. Previous contracts were executed as a solely internal matter...I.E., Shalrirorchian companies had a monopoly on the design of and production of U.S.S. equipment.

It has come to our attention that the honorable United States of Shalrirorchia's Defense Force is in the market for a new main battle tank to replace it's aging, but graceful Super Crusader Mk2s. We would like to present you with the M160A2 'Phoenix' Next Generation Main Battle Tank (http://z9.invisionfree.com/SilverSkyNationalArm/index.php?showtopic=1&st=0). The third of the M160 series of tanks it is arguably the best main battle tank in it's weight class [=<78 Tons].

The descendent of the M160 and M160A1, which were infact designed to go toe to toe and win every time with other MBTs, such as the ST-37/39 from Soviet Bloc [most exported tank ever], and even the Super Crusader Mk2 being replaced, as well as tanks from Mass Pwnage and other countries.

The A2 upgrade ups the tank to a whole new level, letting it compete well against the Nakil 1A1 from the now defunct and sold Kreigzimer of The Macabees as well as MAD IV from Doomingsland, the future ST-47 from Soviet Bloc, and the TR29 Samsons from SCAPA Combine in ZMI(a major subcontractor on the M160A2), it's 120mm L60 Electro-Thermal Chemical Cannon provides it's hefty 11.75kg penetrator to a staggering 2375m/sec at the muzzle, making it capable of taking out any enemy MBT and long range.

Also, the M160A2 has plenty of defensive systems, such as the VAP-ER from Mekugi, and the A3R system from the same country, allowing the M160A2 to act with near impunity against enemy ATGMs and RPGs, especially in urban combat, and the A3R gives the M160A2 the ability to strike against the enemy infantry team that is firing at you from over that wall, as the mortar like system propells an anti-infantry charge towards them.

In short the M160A2 fills all of your defensive needs, for only a piddly $9 Million USD per tank. All this for a tank that is technologically advanced, and has proven it's worth in over five wars with over three different countries[Red Tidean Invasion, Defence of Aralonia, Civil War in Czardas, Invasion of Eurasia, and Clandonia Prime].

Aurum Domus could build you a new tank or armored vehicle and for cheaper than the competition. We will only agree to this if we are given rights to produce this tank for ourselves because we are a very powerful nation ruled by a military dictatorship that always wants new weapons.

Electronics and communication: Aiming-uses a fire-control system that uses data from a variety of sources, including the thermal or daylight gunner's primary sight (GPS), a laser rangefinder, a crosswind sensor, a pendulum static cant sensor, data on the ammunition type, ammunition temperature, and a muzzle reference sensor that determines barrel drop due to gravity and temperature. The fire-control system uses this data to compute a firing solution for the gunner. The ballistic solution generated ensures a hit percentage greater than 95 percent at nominal ranges. includes thermal vision scope

Internal radio, internal navigation/situational awareness system, GPS uplink, and as wished can use the MILSTARS system, fire control systems are redundant to ensure combat ability if the main system is damaged, Battle management system allows commander to view a layout of the terrain as well as enemy and friendly locations allows commander to gather data from UAV scouts or other units in real time. All electronic devices are incased in caches designed to protect against EMP and other electronic attacks.

ooc: It has one main cannon 2 machine guns and mortar things on the side which several armored vehicles today have a flip down rocket system built into the side of the turret plus it doesn't hold all of those mortars etc. depends on what you put in it I was just listing what it was capable of deploying..and as for the flip down from the turret I just couldn't make it look that way... or i would have... but its not really over loaded.. hell the Isreali Merkavah (which some of this tank was modeled after mostly the rear compartment) has all that plus an internal mortar and in the rear compartment it can house a .50 cal sniper or a a heavy mg and its still has decent armor the front mounted cannon idea came from ww2 tanks design and in older versions of the Merkavah (i know im spelling that wrong) it had room for 2 mgs on the top of the turret its main cannon a rear mg plus the crew and a squad of 10 men in the rear compartment they've changed it and now it hold 6 in the rear. And then all the electronics would be relatively small the biggest thing would be the flat screens

Really, it can't hold that much while keeping decent armor.
Two extra turrets - issue one. BTW, front mounted cannon weakens the armor and takes some engine space.
HUGE compartment in the rear - two, and that's much more than Merkava's. Merkava at least doesn't have larger 2100hp diesel, and its compartment is much smaller. The "tankbulance" is another thing.
Large ammo load - three.

RESPONSE TO BIDS OFFERED FOR SHALRIRORCHIAN 14.2 PROJECT

The Shalrirorchian government has received offers from four different defense contractors. The Defense Department is analyzing these offers to determine which vehicle is most compatible with the Shalrirorchian mission structure.

Shalrirorchia selects Silver Sky as the Supplier, and places an order for 50,000 of these vehicles. We thank other contractors for bidding. The new vehicle will be styled as the Super Crusader Mk 3 (it has no design similarities with the Mk 2, which was designed and constructed by Standard Motors, USS).
