Silicon Invasion!

Darknovae
25-02-2007, 01:34
A young boy stood near a tall wooden post. THE BORDER was carved onto it. The boy was probably eight or nine and the son of Darknovae's top scientist. He had a net and was looking for a Darknovae Wild Spamwhore, the national animal.

Finally little Megen got his wish- a rustle in the bushes alerted Megen to the presence of an affectionate spamwhore. The animal was called a spamwhore because the rather kittenlike animal was extremely affectionate and easy to tame, and always played around, or in Darknovaean slang, "spammed".

Megen seized the spamwhore, grinning. "You're going to be my pet," said Megen. The spamwhore tried to lick Megen's face. In the Modern Queendom of Darknovae, it was legal to keep spamwhores as pets, but it was illegal to sell them or dump them at animal shelters, where they could get killed by real kittens.

Megen soon noticed something odd about the spamwhore- its eyes were violet, its fur was abnormally soft and an unnatural white color. The spamwhore mewed- an unnatural mew.

Dr. Maddox M. Yon stepped outside, noticing the spamwhore in his son's hands.
"Megen, what are you doing with that spamwhore?"
"I captured it."
"Mrowr," said the spamwhore.
"Megen, put that spamwhore down. It's sick."
"No it's not, it's just weird!"
"Weird? What do you-" Maddox finally got a good view of the spamwhore. "Oh dear.... Megen, give me the spamwhore."

Later that night

"Queen Emily?" Royal Secretary Thea Abram entered the office of Queen Emily. "You have an important visitor."
"Who is it?" asked sixteen-year-old Queen Emily.
"He is Dr. Maddox Yon," said Abram. "He says he was found a new spamwhore breed."
Queen Emily raised her eyebrows. "Let him in then."
"Hello, my Queen," Dr. Yon said upon entering the office.
"Hello," said the Queen. "So you've found a new spamwhore breed."
"Yes," Dr. Yon replied. "My son caught one earlier today, and we both found dozens more. We were near the border of Io Amaya. I think Io Amaya may have more of these spamwhores."
"What do these spamwhores look like?" Queen Emily asked.
"Silver fur, maroon eyes," said Dr. Yon. "And I'm not talking silvery-gray fur either- I'm talking a real shimmery silver, an unnatural fur color for any creature."
"Interesting. There is one thing I am worried about, however. I'm concerned that people would capture these spamwhores and illegally sell them."
"My dear Queen, that shouldn't be your top worry. I don't think these spamwhores would allow themselves to be sold. They're far too smart and far too agile."
"If your son could catch one, though-"
"The spamwhore would be too smart to allow itself to be caught by criminals," Dr. Yon interrupted. "What I'm saying is- this spamwhore, this new breed- it's silicon-based. Not carbon-based like you and I and most spamwhores in the region, but silicon-based."
