Cautetan rebels stage successful Coup.

[OOC: Forum kept eating my posts for some reason when I tried to post this before. Anyway, it's my first post so I hope I'm doing it right.]

The Cautetan Socialist Militia, aided by a large section of the military and thousands of ordinary citizens, today succeeded in felling to corrupt, oppressive monarchy under which the nation has struggled for decades.

Protests soon turned violent today, as many soldiers ordered to fire on civilians deserted and joined protests, only to be attacked by loyalist forces. The day ended in triumph for the rebels, however, as they overran loyalist strongpoints in cities across the nation, securing all four major cities and sacking the royal palaces in the capital.

The CSM has set up a provisional government to rule until elections can be held, and was swift to declare the Cautetan provinces renamed as the United Socialist States of Cautetan. Martial law has also been declared, at least until the threat of loyalist forces recuperating is well and truly finished.

However, The USSC must now appeal to the international community for aid. Although our people may finally be free, we remain in peril. Our tiny infrastructure simply cannot cope with a civil war- floods of refugees fleeing loyalist held regions are congesting the few roads and railways, and airports are grounded by frequent power failures. We are struggling to create a secure food line into cities from the farmlands in this climate, and fear widespread hunger if the problem is not adressed soon.
On top of this, our military, although eager and loyal to fight for the USSC, is lead by relatively inexperienced officers- almost all the generals and admirals fled south with their few remaining loyal men. Our officers in charge, although competent, are hardly used to such a massive task as running an entire army, let alone leading it to victory against the remaining counter-revolutionaries.

The provisional goverment itself is comprised of relatively inexperienced people. While previous ministers were corrupt and cruel, they at least just barely kept the nation running. The current parliament is indesicive on key issues, and this could be crippling if not dealt with soon.

Which is why we make this appeal. Cautetan does not need monetary or material aid. We need advice. We need to borrow from the experience of larger socialist or communist nations in order to secure a safe future for out people. Our army needs advice in crushing the loyalists and attaining security. And most importantly, we need a champion to protect us as we struggle through one of the hardest phases in our history.

In return, any assisting nations will have influence in the USSC for years to come, and we will ensure our debt is repayed. Be it in resources, support, or research or military installations.

The People's Republic of H-Town Tejas congratulates the people of Cautetan on overthrowing their uncaring bourgousie oppressors. Our nation would be more than wiling to send advisors from the Tejano Proletariat Army and the People's Security Bureau to advise the CSM provisional government. In addition, we also wish to send humanitarian aid workers to assist the refugees fleeing the regions held by the capitalists.

Despite the fact that Eurasia is not a socialist nation, we support your successful overthrow of a cruel government that failed to abide by basic human rights conventions. We would be most willing to dispatch advisors from Her Majesty's Ministry for Trade and Industry to assist Cautetan economic development in accordance with socialist ideas.

Although we would like to comply with your wishes and remove these individuals, we regreat that we cannot. The extended family of the former king has fled with loyalist rebels, and are presumed to be sheltering with their forces in the south. Once they are extricated, we shall inform you.

Sincerely,
Rafi Sejid, Minister of Foreign Affairs, USSC.

While our nation is still developing and is mildly socialist, we have not contacted you for aid of that sort.

We are a practical people, we provide what the people need, what industry cannot provide yet for everyone. So the aid we can offer is military aid.

We have low priced weapons at Universal Exports and we can offer, for free, advisers to help you rebuild your military and ensure that opportunists cannot take advantage of your new regime.

We thank you for your generous offer- at this point we need military advisors more than anything. Although our budget is low, I am told we are in desperate need of recon aircraft. We have very little information on Loyalist positions, and fear they could become heavily entrenched before we can intervene. We are extremely interested in your MFI-9B MiniCOIN, and you can expect an order very soon.
Rest assured that your advisors will be treated with utmost respect and kept in fine security for the duration of their stay. Thank you again for your charity.

The Democratic Empire, which is Capitalistic Socialist, in which the government controls certain industries, would be more then willing to help your fine nation. We can provide food, energy, and advisors, economic and military, to your nation for a total of ten years from todays date. We can also provide a more permanent protection to you, for a price. You would be our Protectorate with full soveirgnty, and in return you will pay five percent* of your total government budget to us. If this is not acceptable you might want to consider joining the Global Union of Socialist Nations. (see sig)

To: The United Socialist States of Cautetan.

Just when it seems the imperialists abroad have the upper hand, the People indeed reveal their strength! My congratulations, Cautetan, on your successful Revolution.
As we shall possibly have to call up at least one year's worth of reserves anyway, considering the situation surrounding the Anti-Slavery Innocence Conference and Londim's provocations, what say you to the deployment of a Task Force from our Red Guard?
To train your forces in modern warfare and provide security for refugees, we can spare three Police Companies, two Medical Companies/Field Hospitals, two Ranger Companies, one Light Artillery Battery (of 122mm D-30 howitzers), one Service Company (Ural -4320 trucks and UAZ-469 jeeps) and one Maintenance Company (ditto) plus the usual Task Force HQ. These men would only fight in defense, but they can train new recruits of yours in the bare essentials of modern warfare. Hopefully they will be enough.
With Regards in Solidarity,
Cautetan

We thank you for your kind offer, and we assure you your advisors shall be kept safe and comfortable for the duration of their stay. Hopefully we will not have to keep them away from their homeland for the full ten years.
Unfortunately we will not be able to accept your offer of protection, simply because our budget in too small, with our economy in ruins. We will be putting every penny of it into our own problems for now, and defence is not much of an issue.

Thanking you for your kind offer,
Rafi Sejid, Minister of Foreign Affairs, USSC.

We are honoured by your generous proposal, and will be glad to accept the aid of your Red Guard. Rest assured that they will not be pushed into dangerous offencives in the south, and as you say will be used solely in the defence of our cities and training of officers and new recruits. Upon their arrival, your men will be granted suitable billets at secure locations.

Sincerely,
Rafi Sejid, Minister of Foreign Affairs, USSC.
