After incredibly heated debate in Parliament, the official results have come out:

Act of Parliament

On this day, 21 February 2007, Parliament announces that for the first time since the Cold War the economic style of Vantanas is changed. The current economic style of Vantanas as of 21 February 2007 is Capitalist Socialism. Defining for the purpose of this Act of Parliament that Capitalistic Socialism when the government holding dominance over certain industries while others are ruled by the free market. The domestic industries that will be taken over by the Democratic Empire of Vantanas are as follows:

Energy
Healthcare (Partially)
Water
Arms Manufacturing (Partially)
Etc. (OOC: Ones I can't think of immediantly)

The industries above were purchased by the Ministry of the Economy one week after the announcment, when they were extremly cheap. The economy took a slight drop, but has already recovered.

OOC: You know, I've written an article about this "New Socialism" (thats my name for it), heck, my NS Nation uses this method, so, congratz on joining my ranks :)

Now I shall be able to take over the world MWHAHAHAH!

OOC: "New Socialism" sounds like it has nothing to do with Capitalism, which is why I've dubbed it "Capitalistic Socialism". I got the idea from the GUSN thread and from China. Other names I've heard it called are: Chinese Capitalism, Chinese Socialism, Socialist Capitalism, Communistic Capitalism, Capitalistic Communism.

Well, I've gotten used to the name "New Socialism" for several reasons.
First, I invented it (the name). Second, I applied it on NS. Third, it doesnt mention "Capitalistic" which would look kinda bad in the International Boards. Final, I like it :p

And no offense, but I'll have to disagree with you on the "China" part, China is not communist (as of the moment), its just some kind of "pretend communist" while in reality they are as capitalistic as their neighbors, and even worse, some kind of dictatorship.

(OOC: I may or may not join the GUSN, as I don't want to be in to many alliances. In fact, if I do join I'll have to cancel my plans for joining the GIA. Which I'm okay with, as I can transfer the donation money from them to you.:p

The Democratic Elective Monarchy congratulates Vontanas on this new and much better economic system and stresses this by how strong our economy has become by using the same system for the better of our 39,000 year existence.

Sir Phillip sat at his desk, meditating. The white papers marshalled themselves into order, regiments of pens lined up along the edges, flanked by computer interfaces, covered by squadrons of data reports. Rotating in his chair, he looked from his office window unto Kensington Bay and the other side of the city. A timid chime rang from the door.

"Intraya," commanded Sir Phillip in Eurasian (http://ns.goobergunch.net/wiki/index.php/Eurasian). Kelsey Birhanu, Minister for Foreign Affairs, walked in with a stack of papers.

"Comme, io posa des redoceres tu requirale," stated Kelsey weakly, placing them on the desk.

"Excebus," replied Sir Phillip curtly. He resumed gazing upon the bay.

"Prime Minister, there's a report from our neighbour of Vontanas," reported Kelsey, switching to the crisp, vibrant tones of Eurasian English. "Some sort of economic reform."

"I couldn't care less," spat Sir Phillip. "A detestable nation. You are dismissed."
