“Join the Legion and become citizens of the United Dominion.”

History of the Legion:

Founded in early 1850, the Dominion Foreign Legion, as it was called back then, was formed to allow the foreigners within the Dominion to become soldiers and fight for the Dominion. Foreigner were allowed to live in the nation, but they were forbidden to enlist in the Dominion Armed Forces. The Dominion Foreign Legion was primarily used to protect and expand the Dominion during the 19th century.

The United Dominion Foreign Legion is known to be an elite military unit whose training focuses not only on traditional military skills, but as well on the building of a strong “esprit de corps” amongst members. The reason to build a strong ‘espirt de corps’ is that the men and women within the United Dominion Foreign Legion come from different countries with different cultures, so a strong bond will be need to strengthen them enough to work as a team.

A member of the United Dominion Foreign Legion are known as legionnaires and there are two branches of the legion; the ground forces and a small air force.

The main reason to join the United Dominion Foreign Legion is that after some time within the legion, a legionnaire may apply for Dominion citizenship. After three years within the Foreign Legion, the legionnaire was have enlisted under their real name and no longer have problems with the authorities. The legionnaire must have served with “honor and fidelity” for at least three years, too.

A legionnaire who becomes injured during a battle for the Dominion, can apply for Dominion citizenship as a Dominionite by spilled blood.

The United Dominion Foreign Legion’s commissioned officers are Dominionites, but approximately 15% are former Legionnaires who have risen through the ranks.

There are offices and bases in the mainland (the United Dominion’s European land) and the other territories of the United Dominion for the Legion. In some of the more tourist cities, they are small offices for the United Dominion Foreign Legion.

The Legionnaire's Code of Honour

Every Legionnaire must know by heart the "Legionnaire's Code of Honour". The Legionnaires spend many hours, learning it, reciting it, and then getting the vocal synchronization together:

“1. Légionnaire, you are a volunteer serving the Dominion with "Honour and Fidelity".
2. Every legionnaire is your brother-in-arms regardless of his nationality, race, or religion. You will demonstrate this by strict solidarity which must always unite members of the same family.
3. Respectful of traditions, devoted to your leaders, discipline and comradeship are your strengths, courage and loyalty your virtues.
4. Proud of your status as legionnaire, you display this in your uniform which is always impeccable, your behavior always dignified but modest, your living quarters always clean.
5. An elite soldier, you will train rigorously, you will maintain your weapon as your most precious possession, you are constantly concerned with your physical form.
6. A mission is sacred, you will carry it out until the end respecting laws, customs of war, international conventions and, if necessary, at the risk of your life.
7. In combat, you will act without passion and without hate, you will respect the vanquished enemy, you will never abandon your dead or wounded, nor surrender your arms."

OOC: I just wanted to post this because I have been using the name a few times in the last few weeks.

If you want, you could post about your people wanting to join or whatever. Like the real life French Foreign Legion, you could have criminals on the run or would-be merc wanting to join the United Dominion Foreign Legion.

Credit goes to parts of the Wikipedia page about the French Foreign Legion.

Well, I'd like to see some sort of equipment and weapons list, and of course, a little run-down on how many divisions does this organization have.

You know, stuff like that.

Added in the equipment list for soldiers in the Legion, the divisions of the legion and a few of the notable Foreign Legionnaires. It would help me more, if I could have some more foreigners in the legion then K’stan’s people. I mean, the Dominion is a better place then a nation with a iron fisted ruler. (Don’t believe what my NS page says. The Count isn’t an iron fisted ruler.)

Help me out, people.

So, is this perfect then? I don’t need to add anything else, right? I do welcome any helpful comments.

Guys, the UDFL is only for protect of their region that they are stationed in. They could be used as peacekeeping, if I really had to. If you want, you could always say that 500 or a 1,000 of your people have joined. Or maybe have someone in the list of notable Foreign Legionnaires under the enlisted part. That could give them some history.

10 Ex-Commissars from the Soviet Army would like to join the Foreign Legion.

OOC: For the record, this guy arent anything like the RL counterparts, they cannot and will not shoot or punish their own soldiers. Their job is to go through the lines raising morale, they wear special uniforms (very colorful I might add) so their soldiers can see them and to show that they do not fear the enemy.
Their standard equipment includes (but this varies with each commissar) a sub machine gun, a sword (or chainsword), and maybe a pistol. Some Commissar have been known to sport RPGs and stuff like that though.

Official Dominion of Vetaka Diplomatic Message:

To: UDFL
From: Vetakan Forigen Affairs

I write to you today to request you allow a Criminal within your ranks for a period of 10 Years. A strange request I know but please hear me out. Jonathon Andrew Root is a 50 Year old man whom until recently held a very high ranking postion within the pride of the Vetakan Military. He was second in command of Vetakas Elite Sniper and Recon Unit. This unit is known as the 1st Vetakan Scout Regiment. The unit is made up entirely of Vetakan Tribal Warriors whom are required to commit themselves to the military for a period of 2 Years once the reach 16. However many such as Root stay on. In Fact Root has been in the Unit ever since. He was due to retire however 3 months ago he commited a crime. He murdered a fellow Scout for sleeping for his wife we empathize with Roots position as a result we are writing to you. Under current Tribal Law this is a crime punishable by death however we have agreed should he join the UDFL for 10 years that will serve as a punishment.

The Vetakan Scouts are Elite Special Forces operators and possible rank as some of the best Snipers in the world. As soon as they are born the focus is on accuracy. As soon as they can walk a Vetakan Tribesman Child practices throwing a stone at a wooden cup everyday for an a hour he keeps practicing even when he can hit that cup every time. As soon as they are 4 they are given a dart gun and must shoot that wooden cup again for an hour a day. Eventually after a life time of this type of training and so forth they emerge as Crack Snipers and Special Forces Operators. We offer Root to you he will join to serve his punishment. He would prove an excellent teacher, commander or advisor. He was a wealth of commitment. We do have one request that he be allowed to use his own Rifle. At the age of 14 all Tribal Warriors have to build themselves a sniper rifle using technology profected over generations of warriors. Once completed they must surive alone in the moutains with only the rifle as company. This ritual must be completed in order for a Tribesman to come of age. Root did this ritual and as such hasnt used another rifle since. We request he be allowed to use his own. I must stress this is only a request and can if required by forgotten. If you have any questions please feel free to contact me.

Criminals, prisoners or some people running from the law are welcomed into the ranks of the UDFL. They can redeem themselves of their bad pasts. Currently, there is a large number of prisoners within the UDFL. So, Mr. Root will be allowed in the UDFL to serve as his punishment.

The UDFL could use a person like Mr. Root. I will place him as a Legionnaire sniper at first. He could do the best for those within the Legionnaire snipers. I’ll get together with my other commanders to place Mr. Root as a trainer for the Legionnaire snipers.

Yes, he can use his own rifle in training and in battle. Most of the Legionnaire sniper use modified rifles after their training is over.

Send him to one of the branches and he will start his time.

You got a sizeable number of Jagites in the Dominion already, not to mention the hardcore fanatics of your fan club that fled to the Dominion when I kicked you out.

OOC: Yes, there should be, but a good number of those Jagite had gone back to Neo-Jagada, (It was done in one of our role-plays together) It was the ones I saved from Kraven, but I can always say they came back after you kicked me out.

Having All-Jagite Legions wouldn’t work for the UDFL. So it would be Jagites, Jenraknians, and Kahanstanians in a division. Anyways, I add some Jagites within the UDFL.

100,000 doesn’t sound to high, does it? If it does, then you can give me a number.

The Chief Executive Panel
Representative Functionary of the Bautizaran Corporations and People
(Incorporated 1911)

By a vote of 8-0, the Chief Executive Panel has approved a request by the State War Academy to send 20 hardened criminals to the United Dominion for service in the Foreign Legion. In addition, should it be so desired by the Legion, the State would be willing to send an addition 700 criminals considered to be undesireables in Bautizaran society.

The State assures the United Dominion that these criminals were all former military officers. Yet their continued individual notions that question the belief of citizens working for the State, and the State working for its citizens, are not considered desireable in Bautizaran citizens. Should permission be refused for these criminals to enter the service of the Foreign Legion their only options will be suicide or permanent exile to another nation.

In recent internal conflicts with Berber rebels in our great nation, numerous militants were captured, including their 'decorated' leader, Icarus Daedalus (formerly the Major General within the St. Hilarion Berber 2nd Division).
