New Volitaia, New Volitaia System, Toopoxican Space
The dark blue shuttle of the Governor Militant touched down slowly and smoothly on the deck of the high risen Trading City, great towers lurched forwards over the surrounding forests but the Governor Militant was not here for such sights.
Accompanied by the finest Toopoxia had to offer, the State Guardsmen, he marched his way into the grand Elevator which would take him only to one place, the Governor Supreme of this territory, quickly the transport took him down to the lowest deck, underneath the ground, an odd place for a ruling center, but nonetheless the Governor Militant and his bodyguard stepped off into the bunker.
The Governor took himself onto his own and handed over a small moniter, it called for the raising of a new regiment and the production of two new Battlecruisers, "How?" Governor Militant Lucius exclaimed, "We do not even have the materials required for one of the Battlecruisers and we are currently suffering a major arms shortage in the military."
Governor Supreme Jaichus looked at the moniter which now showed the economic situation, "I had not expected this, I will put out a request for more trade at once." Jaichus nervously put the moniter down and got back to more pressing work, Lusius slapped his hand down on the grand oak desk, he said nor did anything, just giving Jaichus an intimidating stare.
Lucius took his hand away and walked back into the elevator, "Lord Marshal Erskillix, file a petition to the senate to have the Governor removed." His own agenda appeased Lucius made his way back to the shuttle which had brought him here.
Jaichus nervously brushed his hair back, "Water sir?" His robot slave had a beaker of water prepared, Jaichus brushed his forehead and realised that he was sweating, he was good at the military side of life, why did he have to be promoted to this, he would be happy with a P21 Rail Gun at his side and 20 men at his back, Jaichus waved to clear the robot from his thoughts as he prepared a communique to the outer galaxy.

Jaichus brushed his hand through his hair once again, hopefully the Senate needn't be involved in this mistake, and that his lackluster policies on foreign trade would go un-noticed.

Christina Meier sat in her office, reading over the day's foreign trade bulletins while sipping her morning coffee. She was the owner of a small trading company that boasted a few small freighters and one larger cargo ship in its fleet. Most of the company's business was trading general goods between the nations and territories of the Vascillian League, though every now and then they would send a ship or two to more distant ports.
The message from the Toopoxicans intrigued her. It seemed that they were fairly desperate for whatever trade that anyone could offer. Clearly, this was a golden opportunity for her small company.
We received your message, and would like more information. What sort of goods are you interested in receiving, and what are you willing to pay?

Jaichus looked at the message he had just been handed and his heart sank, he didn't know the first thing about neither trade nor what went into a Battlecruiser, he rubbed his eyes from the lack of sleep and attempted to re-write a message given his brief tutorial from having listened in to a conversation the last time his was at that Spacestation.
Message from Toopoxia to Pegasus Trading Co
We require shipbuilding materials, specifically dense metals, fusion reactor parts and the like, we also require plastics and strong electro magnets, in return we would be willing to trade in our most avaliable resources, Oil, Gold, Meat Products and Robotic Assitants.
Signed,
Jaichus Brave.
Meanwhile, away from the tiny office of Jaichus Brave, and far out of the reach of the tallest tower of New Volitaia Hive City, even going out of the atmosphere of the planet and beyond the dense civilian traffic around it, onboard the giant gloriously adorned Spacestation Briullov.
The Senate gathered, slowly the 9 seats around the various tactical maps were filled, as one task was filled another was opened, a door on the far end slid open and in walked Grand Pensionary Icharus, the highest ranked military individual.
The other senators simply nodded but the other less important Governors present felt the presence of intimidation his aura gave off, "Gentlemen, I understand we are here to investigate Jaichus Brave?"
"Yes Pensionary!" A voice came from aside, Icharus glanced over at the interuption, "If it's not too much I would like to plea my case." It belonged to the young General Militant of New Volitaia, Lucius.
"Plea away, it will not affect our decision." Icharus scornfully replied, he looked over the sheets and moniters scattered across the desk, "I will take some time with my fellow senators to discuss our options, it will be in private." He stared at Lucius as he closed his sentence.
The Senators marched into a secluded room and Icharus took a seat at the head, "This is troublesome." Icharus stated, "We must depose Jaichus but we cannot have that upstart Lucius take his place."
"Grand Pensionary, if it is not out of my place I would like to ask why we cannot allow a position to Lucius?" Senator Maxi had stepped forwards in curiosity, Icharus shot him a glance and he stepped back.
"We cannot allow this because he has proven himself no better than Jaichus in resource control, however, this cannot be resolved by placing another more capable individual at the helm, Lucius holds too much sway in the Military, more than me." Icharus paused, it was quite taboo to give out your military strength, especially in the face of Senators.
"Grand Pensionary, do not despair for I have a plot to remove both Jaichus and Lucius with no political backlash for their deaths." Icharus looked up at Senator Nero, he gave a weak smile which made his various battle scars show through.
Five Minutes Later
Lucius watched the door with intent as the Senators slowly filed out, the Grand Pensionary was last, talking with Senator Maxi as he left, he took his place on the podium and cleared his throat, "It is the ruling of this senate that Governor Supreme of New Volitaia, Lord Jaichus Maelifactus Brave will not be demoted." Lucius stood up to argue but controlled himself when he received a stare from Icharus.

Somwhere in Space
The CNS Artitsa was one of the 12 Air Hippo class battlecruisers sent by the Cassiopeian Commonwealth to explore the vast expanse of space. Or, if that wasn't possible, blow things up. Sadly everytime the Cassiopeians would encounter a new type of civilization, things would go awry. It wasn't their fault mind, it just happened to be like that. If it wasn't an invasion it was... an invasion.
The CNS Artitsa was one of those battlecruisers. An 810 meter behemoth (in the Cassiopeian mind), it was something to be feared. It could go a long time operating, and it used many new technologies, such as replicators.
The one who commanded this particular ship was Admiral Johnathon Baker. He was a young one, at 37 he had quite the assignment. He could either go through the ages as a Picard or Kirk... or die... en el infierno.
The bridge of the ship looked quite nice. There was like a large plasma screen TV of awsomeness and random chairs and all the crewmen were dressed in grey uniforms, because that seems to be in style. The only exception to this was Baker, who wore a white uniform similar to that of a US Admiral, because I have no imagination.
Anywho.
The ship was flying in ship when all of a sudden, a message!
Communique from Toopoxia

The communications officer relayed this to the Admiral. "Sir." He said. "It seems that there's a nation nearby. It's asking for materials to trade, granted I think this is more between Governments, I don't think it would hurt if we said hello first and then we relayed a message to the Commonwealth."
Baker nodded. "That's a good idea officier, let's head over there now!"
A few minute later, the ship popped out of hyperspace just... floating there, looking mysterious and rather intimidating to anybody with a crappy Navy. Though anybody else would just shrug it off as a random ship, I know I would. Baker then sent a message.

From: Admiral Johnathon Baker of the CNS Artitsa
Hello. I am Admiral Johnathon Baker of the CNS Artitsa,
a ship that represents the interests of the Cassiopeian Commonwealth. The
Commonwealth is a small system of seven planets, and we would be more
then happy to trade with you. Granted our Government does not know of
your existance, we would like to have some cordial relations before we
alert our own Government.
I hope you can agree with us in this.
In peace,
Johanthon Baker
Admiral of the CNS Artitsa
Now they would wait there... floating... bored... and... I don't know what other adjective to add.

Diplomatic Message from Grand Pensionary of Toopoxia and Governor Supreme of the Senate, Lord General Icharus Milus Pax, Reresentative of the Nine Provinces to Admiral Johnathon Baker of the CNS Artitsa
Greetings Admiral, we welcome cordial relations of course but do not be offended for our suspicions, we have faced those who would betray us previously, however you seem to be an honorable man and you have given us no belief that you hold hostile intentions, I would be interested to learn more about your Commonwealth and a possible peace between our people, if you would be so willing I wish to invite you and your crew for drinks at the Imperial Palace.

The communications officer saw the beeping red light on his console. "Sir, it seems that we're invited to their imperial palace... all of us."
Johnathon raised his brow. "Oh? The entire crew? Are you sure it said some of the crew, or most of the crew, or no crew?"
"Negative." The officer said. "Your crew, that's how the message came out. You can hear it or read it again if you want. But it seems they're invite the whole crew... all fifty three hundred of them."
He rolled his eyes. "Do they realize how many men it takes to run this bloody ship? We don't have advanced AI like other nations, but, maybe their palace is just that large. Anyway I'm going to fly down there by myself with two Marines anyway so I don't think they should worry."
An ensign chimed in on the conversation. "Though it is pretty funny."
Another ensign joined. "Sir, should we fly towards their home planet? Awaiting your orders."
Baker nodded. "Yes. Meanwhile I'm going to send a message saying thank you and whatnot, if only not to be rude."
To: General Icharus Milus Pax
From: Admiral Johnathon Baker
We thank you for your invitation and we are flying right now towards your
homeworld. And do not worry about overtly suspicious, my nation has the
same problem. In fact we've been having diplomatic incidents that don't
involve us, but yet, we're always in the middle. But we can talk about that
later when I fly to the surface, I hope I can take two Marines with me.
In Peace,
Johanthon Baker
Admiral of the CNS Artitsa
One of the Marines, holding his E-11 knockoff looked at the Admiral. "Am I gonna have to go down there with ya Admiral?"
Baker smirked. "Well now you are, since you asked."
"Fah!" The Marine shouted. "You know I'll go down with the ship, but I've heard the stories Admiral. I don't wanna die." He paused. "Saying that, you owe five credits. The Rosians won the football game, 2-1."
"Sure I'll give it to you." Baker said. "If you don't die anyway." He laughed out loud at his own joke, but it was all in jest. Indeed the crew had a special affection for each other after all the space they travelled, if they didn't they would've been dead a long long time ago.
(Oh I see. Well I RP as TIOR/Rosanica on MT so errm... nice to meet ya.)

Diplomatic Message from Grand Pensionary of Toopoxia and Governor Supreme of the Senate, Lord General Icharus Milus Pax, Representative of the Nine Provinces to Admiral Johnathon Baker of the CNS Artitsa
Your two marines are welcome, as is your presence, we have prepared a suitable landing platform for your arrival and the banquet hall has been settup, we will be greeting you with the 101st Imperial Senate Guardsmen who will escort you to the banquet hall, there I will be waiting with the Senate themselves.

The Senatorial Guardsmen marched to the Imperial landing platform, it rarely got use, only by esteemed dignitaries and foreign diplomats, neither had used the platform in a long time, the Company halted on the platform and presented their weapons, standard issue Imperial Rail Rifles, deactivited of course, they just wanted a show of power not a firefight.

Orbit over Toopoxia
The CNS Artitsa slowly approached the planet. Its engines subtly roaring, granted roars aren't subtle and there's no noise in space, but nevermind that. That wasn't the point, the Cassiopeains were about to meet a new peaceful civilization that didn't seem to want to blow things up. And if things went right they would have a new trade partner and maybe even an ally.
But one step at a time.
Baker looked at the planet with reverence. "Quite a nice looking planet isn't it?" He said. "Peaceful... and not trying to kill us." He looked at the Marine he was joking around with earlier. "Well Corporal, let's go eh?" He looked at the communications officier. "You're in charge while I'm away."
The duo left the bridge and entered an elevator which led to one of the pods on the side. They then, entered it.
The pods from the inside looked quite nice. There were fighters being cleaned and maintained, the shuttles were on the top folded neatly to provide space, the bombers sat rough and ready to cause hell. But in Cassiopeian doctrine, the fighters were the equivilant of calvary. They were not supposed to do the bulk of fighting as other interstellar navies forced them to do. Instead, they would take down their own with the fleet's help and would only leave their area of protection if the fleet was in dire trouble.
But they were never used in a first strike, ever.
The view from the hanger was nice too. A person could see space, and in this case, the planet because of the wanky shield thinger it used to keep the atmosphere intact. Or at least, when the hanger doors were open. When it was closed it was quite bleak, even if there were lights everywhere.
Catwalks also filled the roof, with persons walking back and forth making sure everything was nice, in this case the shuttle in which the Admiral would be leaving in got special attention.
Baker and the Corporal entered into this, crewmen in grey running around, orders being shouted, and their shuttle being checked properly. The duo got into a lifter and got errm... lifted to the catwalk where the shuttle was located.
There was the pilot and second guard of the Admiral. "Hello sir." He said with a smile. "I'm going to be piloting this so don't worry, I'll make sure we land safely." Both the Marines were clad in 2142-esque uniforms, and both of them carried E-11 knockoffs, a pistol, and three thermal detonators.
The Admiral chuckled. "Well, let's go."
The three entered and the shuttle activated, smoke being released. The shuttle was grey entirely, don't let the picture fool you. It slowly glided out of the battlecruiser as its wings folded out to fly properly. It then zipped along to the planet.
The pilot then sent the following message. "This is Cassiopeian Shuttle 212, requesting permission to land."
Baker thought to himself. I hope these guys are nice...
The Corporal was having his own thoughts too. ... I want a doughnut.
Toopoxia
The shuttle landed on the pad, slowly. Steam hissing and certainly making its presence be known. Then a ramp was lowered, with the Admiral and his two Marines (the Corporal and Pilot) clad in armour and having their E-11 knockoffs in hand, walked down the ramp.
The Admiral greeted the guard. "Hello there." He said with a warm demeanor. "I'm Admiral Johnathon Baker of the large ship you see up there, I've come for diplomatic relations."
The Corporal wasn't that optimistic. They're going to kill us...
The Pilot on the other hand. Look I don't have a witty thought nor do I have a witty phrase to use, therefore, fade out... fade out... fade out...

18-02-2007, 02:54
The Sergeant walked forwards from the Squad, although the thick domed helmet of the Guardsmen prevented him from speaking naturally a speaker built into the front of the helmet assisted him, "Welcome Admiral, the Grand Pensionary awaits, if you would like to follow me." he ushered the guests inside as it was rather windy this high up.
The journey was short as the elevator took them straight to the banquet room, the Grand Marshall and the Senators stood to greet the guests as the Guardsmen took positions around the hall, "Welcome." The Grand Pensionary showed the men to their seats, "May I introduce, Lord Tenius Maximus, Lord Aktorus Pax, Lord Julius Briullov and Lord Tenius Brutius, unfortunantly our other senators cannot be present as they are busy elsewhere in the Republic."

The three entered the room, looking at the beautiful hall. It was indeed nicer then anything they've ever been to, and while it was quite available to any Cassiopeian for the right price, it certainly wasn't available to them.
The Admiral bowed to each one of the Senators while the Marines looked without emotion, granted they were tempted to start gorging themselves on all the food, but temper temper... "Hello." Baker said smiling. "I am Admiral Johnathon Baker of the CNS Artitsa. I represent the Cassiopeian Commonwealth's interests to other nations far away from her borders."
He took a seat at the table with his two guards standing behind. "Thank you for this reception, it certainly is a change of pace from the stories I've heard from my compatriots." He said this with a slight chuckle, knowing of the insanity they've encountered.
He cleared his throat. "Well then, I suppose we should move on to business. Unless you want to small talk, I don't mind either way." He smiled again, he wasn't going to be shot he thought.
The Corporal had his mind on other things. He looked at the Senatorial Guard and the Hall. But really he was looking at all the good food about, assumming there is food. Food... He thought. Real food...
The Pilot had his mind on other things. I wonder if the engines are working right, we seemed to go a little slow. Oh and, errm... crap I should tell Mary that it's my baby. He paused. I can wait.

"Corporal, there's no need to ask, help yourself to the food, I could see you waiting." The Grand Pensionary said this with a smile on his face, maybe the Senate had found an ally at last, "Yes Admiral, in Toopoxia we have a saying, get the important things out first, it makes room for the small talk." Icharus reached across the table and tore off a chicken leg, "I guess the first place to start would be an embassy exchange."

"Well..." The Corporal said to himself. "FOOD!!!" He started to gorge himself on chicken and other delights that Cassiopeians weren't quite used to, them being an island nation that just so happened to be on a planet.
The Pilot was more stoic. Granted he'd like some of the food on the table, but he wanted to seem more sane.
Baker was a bit more hesitant as he picked up a leg. "Well we certainly don't have this back home." He said this as he took a bite out of his chicken leg, he swallowed, it was good. "Hmm... good. See about most of the Commonwealth lives on a giant island in our homeworld of Rosanica. We don't have farms so we have to fish and eat lots of seafood, so you have to excuse me if I'm a bit hesitant."
He looked at the Corporal. "I'm sure he isn't thought." He felt embarrassed inside, but you have to roll with the punches. "Well, on the subject of an Embassy. I'm sure the Commonwealth would be more then happy to have one with you. But, your message mentioned trade. What are you looking for exactly?"
Toopoxia
18-02-2007, 04:29
"Ah yes, that would be Supreme Governor Jaichus, he told me that he had been having some resource shartages, that is a matter that you will have to take up with him I'm afraid, as it is out of my jurisdiction, however, I beleive he requires dense metals, Cobalt, Diamond and the like, seems he wants to expand his military." Icharus dug into a chicken leg and chuckled slightly at the voracious appetite of the Colonel.

As the Corporal ate, Baker continued the discussion. "You want minerals basically? Well... we can provide that."
He paused. "The Commonwealth has many companies within its borders, specifically the Royal Mining Corporation, that takes care of the mining business. Saying that, they need Government approval before trading with any other nations and they need to follow our laws. Aka, us." He grinned. "We could get you diamonds, cobalt, coal, uranium, anything you want. If it can be mined we have it. We have a rather large asteroid field inside our system, it has alot of stuff."
The Pilot nodded in agreement. "It's true, I used to fly security for the RMC."
The Corporal paused. "Can't trust them RMC folk..." He then went on to his binging.
The Pilot sighed. "That's also true."
Baker coughed. "You can trust us though, we try our best as to not let the RMC rip off anybody. They're a rather large corporation, see. But are there any specific minerals you want?" He paused. "And is there anything you can give us?"

"...pain!" He shouted. His stomach was bloated, his gas tremendous. His stomach was not used to all this food, and even worse he wasn't used to all this type of food, Cassiopeians ate fish, alot of it. They didn't eat meat based products, just fish. And he just ate a whole lot of them.
There would be chaos.
"Bathroom!" The Corporal shouted. "I need a bathroom!"
The Pilot smacked himself in the head out of embarrassment, not a nice to impressing to give a foreigner to be sure.
Baker went on unphased, trying to be stoic in the face of extreme gas. "So yes... a meeting with Jaichus would be the wisest thing, but is there anything you sitting on the table want in specific that I can keep in mind? Or is this his idea alone? I'm quite confused, see."
The Pilot coughed. "You're not the only one..." He said to himself referring to the Corporal's... crisis.

He turned to the Corporal, who was throwing up from all the food, and then he turned to the Pilot. "... take him back to the shuttle."
The Pilot sighed and nodded. "Yes sir..." He picked up the poor Corporal and exited the Hall, he decided to go back to the shuttle and wait for the Admiral.
Baker coughed. "Of course for me to do this it would take about a week. The message needs to reach the Government then the message has to go back here and then the ship would have to fly and well, it takes a while." He paused. "Unless you have some sort of machine I can use to rush the process?"

The Admiral stood up and shook Icharus' hand. "Thank you for your time. You will have to understand that my ship will have to stay in orbit until the Ambassador comes, Cassiopeian doctrine see."
The two Marines were escorted to the landing pad first, the poor Corporal ate too much it seemed. He just laid on the floor, sick. Meanwhile the Pilot looked on at the pathetic scene. Well, at least it didn't affect how the Toopoxians saw them, still, it was rather embarrassing. The Pilot got inside the cockpit, which looked like the futuristic version of a plane's cockpit. Panels and switches and things that no normal person would understand. He started it up and waited for the Admiral to arrive.
Baker laughed. "Thank you for your kindness, I hope that good comes out of this."
He went down the stairs and whatnot and approached the shuttle. He bowed one more time. "I'll be in orbit, if you need anything just give me a call."
The shuttle once again released smoke and started lifting off, its wings again expanding to get to a proper flying mode. It then flew away majestically, the silent hum of the engines was all they could hear. Of course if it was only like that inside the shuttle itself.
"Darn it Corporal." Baker said. "You're lucky I feel good today or else I would put you in the brig. What do you have to say for yourself?"
The Corporal looked up at him sheepishly and threw up on the floor.
The Pilot sighed. "Fah..."
As all this happened a message was sent from the shuttle to the Cassiopeian Government. They had made contact and were requesting an Ambassador to take care of things, it would take a week for everything to be settled but, it would happen.

Before waiting for a response, the Pegasus XIV transmitted the freight manifestos for each of the ships.
