Ubundiville Philharmonic to Begin Global Tour

Ubundiville, Feb. 14 — As part of Ubundi's major push for positive global relations, Ubundi's most prestigious orchestra, the Ubundiville Philharmonic (www.ubvillephil.org.ubu) announced today that the group would begin its first international tour in nine years. According the orchestra's music director, Samuel Muturi, the tour would begin this week.

"This tour will, without a doubt, show to the world the Philharmonic's and Ubundi's talents," said Muturi happily in a room packed with reporters. "Our conductors have cooked up quite a concert for all the audiences."
One of Ubundi's most famous musicians, Principal Cellist Obi E. Ngozi wrote of the tour on his website (www.obingozi.ubu) as "concerts that will be remembered for generations forward."
Trombone Zuberi Udo said similar things saying the tour will be "a grand triumph."

According to the orchestra's official press release, the tour will include two-day stops in numerous nations with works from the greats of the Baroque period up to the Contemporary period. As the Philharmonic pushes to embrace new technology, all works will be available on-line at its website (music.ubvillephil.org.ubu) live for free. The Ubundi News Corporation (UNC) and some of each host nation's television and radio networks will be covering the tour. The press release also stated that the orchestra wouldn't charge the host nations, although the prices of the tickets would be up to the individual theaters.

Since its founding in 1939 by millionaire orchestra evangelist Akono Wells in Ikela as the Ikela Symphony Orchestra, the Philharmonic has served as a sanctuary for orchestra-proponents and people wishing to spend a few hours listening to the works of renowned Baroque composers like J.S. Bach and Antonio Vivaldi to the contemporary works of Daniel Börtz and more. Throughout the late years of the second World War, the Philharmonic traveled to war zones to play for the Allied Powers' soldiers and locals effected by the war. In 1946, the orchestra moved to the Kazii Center in Ubundiville where they changed their name to the present version, the Ubundiville Philharmonic. After the O. Opeyemi Hall was constructed a decade later at the Center, it became the home for the majority of the Philharmonic's performances. As of February 14, 2007, the Philharmonic has performed 14,100 concerts. Home to musicians and conductors from all over the world, the Ubundiville Philharmonic offers an varying and sometimes exotic array of works.

Known for its surprises and brilliant performances, the tour should be a definite "must-see" for all.

To: All Nations, whom it may concern
Dear great nations of the world,

On behalf of the Ubundiville Philharmonic, I would like to welcome all nations to apply for the Philharmonic to tour throughout your nation for two days. We would announce the day's programs via our bulletin, television or radio network, newspaper, et cetera with other information. Your nation would then report about the concert with a TV, radio (podcast or just text), newspaper, et cetera, with maybe an interview with someone who attended the concert (OOC: you don't need me for this) or a player or conductor (OOC: with this, you would). After the second day of performing, the Philharmonic will continue on to the next host nation. We will charge no money for the tour, although the individual venues may decide on the ticket prices.

To: Miss Sauda O. Taonga, Touring Director, Ubundiville Philharmonic
From: Office of Cultural and Educational Affairs, People's Socialist Republic of Russkya.

Greetings and salutations, Ms. Taonga.

It has been requested by Cultural and Educational Minister Georgei Kolbukin that the esteemed Ubundiville Philharmonic tour in the People's Socialist Republic, with the only preference being as to when it is convienent for the Philharmonic. The provided application form has been attached to the end of this missive. The Ubundiville Philharmonic would be performing at the Kamev-Kurgan International Music and Culture Hall in the city of Kalalgrad.

Regards,
- Office of Cultural and Educational Affairs, PSR Russkya.

Georgei Kolbukin

Application Form
Venue(s): Kamev-Kurgan International Music and Culture Hall, Kalalgrad, Southern Oblast, Russkya.

Room on Stage: Capacity of 255 seated performers at maximum, adjustable seating locations to allow for placement of larger instruments as required by visiting orchestras.

Number of Seats: 1,500

Hotel(s): Kalalgrad "The Internationale" Hotel (Rated 4 Star), Floors 1-8.
Rooms: 80 Rooms available.

Weather/climate at this time of year: (Current month February-March) Winter, end of March demonstrates thawing into Spring weather.

Music Preferences: No preferences. Works by Russian composers would be the most familiar to a Russkyan audience.

Days of the Week Requests: No request.

Other Requests or Preferences: Comprehensive security will be provided by Militsiya and MVD-ISF. No other requests or preferences.

Venue/City Information: The city of Kalalgrad finds itself beside the majestic Kala river, often referred to as "Russkya's Volga." Kalalgrad has often found itself hosting dozens of cultural events and has been repeatedly referred to as the home of the Russkyan Soul, a claim debated by the historical township of Taganrog. Well preserved architecture of nearly all periods allows Inner Kalalgrad to retain it's "Old World Charm" amongst the modernized efficiency of Outer Kalalgrad. The Kamev-Kurgan International Music and Culture Hall is decorated in the light and yet elegant and flowing, built in the 'classical Austrian style,' as befits its location in the Austro-Germanic Block of Inner Kalalgrad.
The Kamev-Kurgan has hosted such performing groups as the Red Army Orchestra and Choir, the Me'ei Performance Troupe, Ansambl Pesni & Plyaski, and many others. Excellent acoustics, on par with the modern Berisak Performance Hall distinguish the Kamev-Kurgan from its contempories.
The Internationale, a four-star hotel located in the South East of Inner Kalalgrad is a ten story structure of neo-classical architecture, marked by superlative service and characteristic Russkyan hospitality.
