Southern Colombia

In a white palace the President of the Allied States of Southern Colombia walks out onto a balcony. A microphone is conveniently placed on a podium in front of him. Above him a marble facet of the countries royal seal is a prominant feature of the palace. Displaying a Tucan holding a leaf of cannabis in its claws and a symbol of freedom in its mouth. Below the Tucan in a cursive script the national motto, For with common sense people govern themselves, is displayed.Several local and international press agencies have gathered below on the marble patio. The President lets out a cough and begins his speech.
"Two hundred years ago upon this land five men set out on a mission. Their mission, to unite all the lands south of the Magdalena into a free democratic republic, took over fifty years to complete. These Allied States are now one of the last bastions of true freedom. We provide our citizens every convenience of freedom. This nation was designed with the idea that the people know how to govern themselves the best. For with Common sense People govern themselves!"
The President pauses drinking from a small glass of water on the pedestal.
"We afford the best education to the youth of this great nation. We teach everyone to thirst. We teach them to thirst for something unlike anything else. Like a parched throat thirsts for this water."
He pauses and takes a drink again
"We teach our citizens to thirst for knowledge. This is why the Southern Colombian is one of the most intelligent and knowledgable citizens in the world. We do not afford any insecurity at the cost of knowledge or freedom. In the same freedoms we offer a volunteer army that contains some of the brightest millitary minds. Why we hold a pact of non aggresion with every nation on this earth we can easily stop any force that dares to approach on our land. This is coupled with mandatory gun training for all those who study in the university provides for a competent defence squad."
"While our education system thrives so does our economy. But we seek to make peace with the world and unanimously help each other. That is why today I declare a goal to open trade with all nations of the world not only in fabricated and natural goods but also in good of the mind. Our top fifty universities are willing to create educative links with other universities in other nations and not only trade research but also exchange students. We believe the root of knowledge is experience and that is why we want our people to experience all nations."
"It is with this goal, to serve our people and our great nation that the Allied States have gathered here today. I the humle spoke person for the people of this great nation am glad to be able to open the doors of trade and progress in this great country. Thank you all and good night."
The president walks off the balcony back into the marble white palace.
