The tiny nation of Helectica has, in a shocking set of maneuvers, diverted a quite significant amount of funding into its military. To accompany this, they have set their growing Navy to sea. Another development occured two hours after this news hit the mainstream media. Several bombers bombarded neighboring islands, which have been ruled by small governments that heavily relied on the TAP, or Thranian Archipelago Pact, for military support, seeing the size of the islands are considerably small, some as tiny as 20 miles long, with a mere 5 miles of width. Even less impressive was their populations, some as small as 20,000. Rumours have already sprung up, suggesting that this unprovoked military action was in an effort to achieve control of the large iron ore deposits on the tiny islands, which burrow deep into the ground and are rich with ore. The press has been denied of a conference by the Helectican Government for explanations, which leaves room only for more speculation. Other larger neighboring islands in the Archipelago have only responded by fortifying their capitals, with no movements to stop the sudden aggression.

More news has developed on the Helectican Offensive, as it is now called, and seemingly a victorious end for Helectica is near. In a recent press conference, the Press Secretary of the Helectican Government, Karl Neintell, had this to say:

"The Helectican Offensive was launched in interest of the welfare of its people. The iron ore deposits of the otherwise insiginifcant islands we invaded are quite valuable to the flourishing Helectican economy. The Government of Helectica is more that pleased to announce we now have complete control of these islands, where virtually no resistance was apparent. Some angry civillians did start to lob rocks at our tanks, but as you can imagine, this pathetic protest was quickly quelled. The Helectican Government was also quite satisfied to observe the lack of reaction by the rest of the world, especially the other strong military powers in the Thranian Archipelago. There is no question on whether we will seize the other tiny islands around us that should be in our power anyway. That is all"

To fulfill his last sentences, several platoons landed on the other similarly small islands in the vicinity of Helectica, easily dismantling their weak governments. One casualty out of the 1,000 deployed troops has been reported. The cause of death is still not known by the media.

((One very quick OOC comment, this is open for any country to reply, hopefulyl through the manner of "press conferences" or perhaps raw military action. Thanks, and by))

From: The Liberal Democratic Republic of Brydog

Dear Sir/Madam,

We condemn the actions of your government and demand that you pull out of the islands you taken illegally and return their independence. We might be liberals but war is necessary when nations like yours trample on the freedoms of others to benfit your own greed. You have 48 hrs to comply to the demands we have made.

The Aequatian Republic is appalled at the overt aggressive actions undertaken by the government of Helectica, this disregard for the independence of the neighbouring islands will not be tolerated. We demand that your forces withdraw from these islands and that the victims of your actions are properly compensated.

Signed,

President Holden Reid of Aequatio.

Recently the spokesman for the Helectican Navy, Thomas Frick, delivered a special address that was aired on HTNN, the Helectican Television News Network. The following is an excerpt rumored ot be in reply to several letters of condemnation regarding Helectica's recent militaristic aggression:

"Several foreign countries have expressed pointless concern for our personal affairs in the surronding islands. In specific, for some military bases that supposedly have the right to be on our newly controlled land. Our message is this: If you are so disturbed by our activities, than why don't you interfere. Unless you do not, we will continue our work in the betterment of our people's lives. However we can assure foreigner that we will not attack their countries unless provoked."

The "military bases" that were mentioned are rumored to belong to Vetaka, a considerable power in the militaristic sense.

((probably the need to be heard, seeing that it's quite hard to break into the more developed nations' RP))

Official Dominion of Vetaka Diplomatic Message:

To: Relvant Helectican Forigen Office
From: Dominion of Vetaka Forigen Affairs

Subject: Helectican Aggression

The Dominion has no real interest regarding any land that Helectica currently occupies or claims. The Dominion will not get involved either way in this Helectica matter. The Dominions only interest is to protect its base on the small Lugar Island details of which are below. The base's primary aim is Sea Search and Rescue. As well as forming part of the Vetakan Air Defence Network.

The Dominion currenty operates 1 Base close to Helectica this being Andrews Air Base located on the west coast of Lugar Island. At this time their are 1 Squadron of F-22 Raptors, 1 C-130 Hercules, 1 Chinnok Helicopter, 2 Seahawk Helicopters (Search and Rescue), 2 Seaking Helicopters (Search and Rescue) and 2 AH-64 Apache Longbow Helicopters. Deployed to the Base.

The Dominion must make clear that any attacks or aggression against this base will result in a Vetakan Military Response.

In a public address to the Helectican people outside the Capital Building, President Theodore Kings spoke venemously, announcing his preparation to "violently respond" to any Aequatian militaristic action that might suggest harm towards the "Glorious Nation that is Helectica". The following is the highlighted paragraph that is now being mentioned by many-a-news network across the globe.

"The Aequatian Government has notioned that they have an issue with our justified aggression and may indeed act in a militaristic manner against us. I have this to say to President Reid and his overly self-confident administration. Your forces do not belong on our land, and if they act as foolishly as to stray there, we will attack them with unprecedented speed. I repeat, we will violently respond As for the now well-publicised issue with the Vetakan bases, they will remain untouched, though I highly suggest that their respectabler nation cede any significant military equipment, for if we feel threatened, we will act. For those fools who doubt the justification in our action, I say this: We invaded the islands because they would be more efficiently and well ruled under our government, and that their resources, to which they put to poor use, would find a more productive and helpful place in Helectican hands."

The military has ceased to conduct aggressive maneuvers, and has instead heavily fortified their newly constructed military bases their. Rumor has it that ambassadors have arrived at the Vetakan bases in an effort to establish good relations before tensions arise.

IC:
Lugar Island, Vetakan Defence Force Andrews Airbase, 15:00, Sunny:

Andrews Airforce Base was orignally a Small Storage Facility for a Travel Company called Airways Inc. The company went bankrupt and was forced to sell its assets. As a result the Vetakan Government had bought the airfield and transformed it into an Airforce Base. Publically Vetaka had purchased the base to provide a Search and Rescue service to surrounding area of sea. However in reality the base had been bought and built to boost the Vetakan Air Defence Network.

The Commander of the base was Base Commander Patterson he was now looking rather tired. Concerned for his base and his men had grown following the recent movement of troops by Helectica. As a result Central Command in Vetaka had orderd the Fortification of the base. As of yet Vetaka hadn't deployed reinforcments as it didn't want to seem aggressive. However such reinforcements where on standby in Vetaka to deploy should the situation require them to. However now each member of the base was required to carry a Pistol if not a rifle and be in full Combat Uniform. It was only then that it was reported a Convoy of Helectica Vehicles was approaching as far as the spotter could see their was a 1 Lexus Car, 2 Land Rovers, 1 Truck of Troops and 1 Tank. As a result Patterson ordered the general alarm and troops began to rush taking up positions should this be a Helectica attack however it was doubtful as their was no Air Support surely if Helectica was going to attack it would deploy fighters, bombers and choppers. No this was probably a Message of some Description he waited nervoursly for the outcome.

International Waters, 1,200 kilometres South of Lugar Island

The large Ocean II class missile submarine, RNS Sea Devil, cruised along the surface of the calm waters as its commanding officer, Captain Dean Sherman, stood on the top deck on the boat's sail overlooking the water. There had been a call for combat preparedness ever since reports of the recent Helectican movements, so the sub was sent as a preliminary element ahead of any others to initiate precision strikes against Helectican targets on the islands using its cruise missiles housed in its vertical launch tubes. The officer was approached by his XO, who informed him of their new deployment, the captain nodded and they both climbed back down inside the vessel as it began its dive underneath the water.

Lugar Island, Vetakan Defence Force Andrews Airbase, 15:20, Sunny:

Ambassador Brandon Hinder sat in the Land Rover, twiddling his thumbs and surveying the view provided by the highway, which ran along the coast of a small bay. In the distance once could see a pillar of jetblack smoke protruding from the ruins of the only Lugarian military base, which was more of a police station, and quite a pathetic one at that. It took one bomber to wipe it out. Ambassador Hinder grinned at the seamless efficiency with which the operation was conducted. He then turned his attention back to the road, scratching an itch in the midst of his graying hair. His suit was spotless, a Helectican avant-grade brand. In front of him lay a Vetakan base, supposedly a secret base of their airforce, though that has yet to be varified, and is still under the "non-militaristic" classification. As they pulled up to the opening gate, the secret service agents, who were accompanied by several special-forces troopers, got out and opened up his door. He clambered out of the bullterproof vehicle, and, escorted by the soldiers and agents, walked briskly towards the seemingly busy base. The soldiers, clasping tightly to their machine guns, gazed upon the scurrying soldiers of the Vetakan nationality. One of them muttered something like "paranoid" and a couple of others nodded, maintain their flawless march.

Commander Patterson had been correct this seemed to be a "Diplomatic Visit" by the Helectican's he signalled for the his men to stand down. Which they did do almost immediatly. He motioned for a couple of troops to follow him as he walked towards the Helectican envoy. Which Consisted of a well dressed and well groomed man and what looked like security forces.

They now came face to face with eachother. Patterson was a little nervous he hated diplomacy much prefering to shoot first. However he was determined to rise to the occasion. He smiled and offered his hand and then spoke over the noise of the busy base:

"Good Afternoon gentleman. I am Base Commander Mark Patterson Welcome to the Vetakan Defence Force Andrews Air Base. I apologise for all the security but with the recent events we can't take any chances with our base security. Also ive just been informed we have recieved a distress signal from a small ship out to sea as a result we are deploying a Seaking Search and Rescue Helicopter now to assist them. How Can I help you on this fine day?"

No sooner had he finished speaking a Large Seaking Helicopter thundered overhead and sped off out to sea.

The agents formed a small semi-circle behind Ambassador Hinder, signaling for the soldiers to relax their weapons. The ambassador shook hands warmly with the military commander, and smiled reassuringly. He then began to speak in a voice obviously perfected after years of diplomacy, providing a soothing and seemingly trustworthy aura about him.

"Ah yes, Mark, I'm Ambassador Brandon Hinder of the Helectican Department of Foreign Affairs. I'm quite glad, for your sake and mine, that the honorable country of Vetaka did not respond irrationally to our...little visit here on Lugar Island and its insignificant neighbors. This has earned your country our respect and friendship. Now, I must say, you have a fine little establishment here. However, I find myself needing to ask that you give us detailed briefing on the equipment and manpower you have here at this base of yours"

Headquarters for Militaristic Operations, Vekrevan, the Helectica Capital City, 15:25, Sunny:
Inside the control room, the only light came from the many screens that were now glowing vibrantly. General Lincoln D. Calhoun walked curtly amongst the bustling commanders, who were spewing orders in regard to the securing of the islands. The Aequatian Government was appearing aggressive, and the general was not going to let there be any room for slipping up. Several cruisers were deployed out to sea, along with one small submarine. Anti aircraft guns were being set up all over the captured islands. Several fighters were circling the islands, on high alert. Suddenly, one commander called out. "An 'elicopter is 'overin' near one of our cruisers, sir. Our ships radioed us, the marking seems blurry, it's pourin' rain over there, sir. We're not sure whether it's a civillian or military vehicle, sir. What d'you want the cruisers to do, sir?"

General Calhoun wheeled around to face the speaking commander. "Do we have any helicopters on the cruisers?"
"Yessir, two sir."
"Launch both of them, send them over to the unidentifiable helicopter, and see to it that the vehicle isn't interested in making an offensive."
"Yessir"

The commander turned intently back to the screen and started speaking into a radio.

Paratroopers of the second battalion, first parachute infantry regiment lined the tarmac as they boarded their C-181A Starlifter II transport aircraft while their heavier equipment, such as their UNISUV-2 8x8 combat vehicles, was being loaded onto large palettes to be air-dropped from the back of C-5G Galaxy II heavy transports and ready for combat as qiuickly as the troops. Lieutenant-Colonel Sam Fraser, the commanding officer, fixed the shoulder strap on his G65A2 carbine as he boarded the aircraft with his staff alongside the rest of his battalion as they prepared for the journey to the occupied islands. They would drop onto the island as a pioneer force in order to clear it for the rest of the regiment, so the fighting would be hard. As the final checks were completed, the transports began to lift off one at a time from the runways and met up with their escorts, Air Force F-28 Black Eagle fighters which would be refueled en route by waiting Air Force KC-17F tankers.

Both the jets and the rockets were of Helectican invention, the rockets being simply dubbed BR 100s, or Bomb-Rocket 100s, nicknamed Sunshines for their firey flash when they hit their mark. The jets were ATJ-52s, or Anti Transport Jets 52s, for their special ability to make repeated swoops with consistent precision. They were also outfitting with machine guns, right at the beginning of the wings, tucked under discreetley. These were simple, ammo boxes under the barrel that held 500 rounds worth of 4mm bullets. Lining the bay's beaches were massive anti-aircraft guns, still being set up. To accompany these were howitzers to protect from ground fire. 20,000 more troops had landed on Lugar Island, which was now being used as a base of operations due to its strategic location.

13-02-2007, 01:16
The HNS Hoplite glided through the water as gently as an aircraft carrier could. Even its diminished size, by Harakian standards a light carrier, dwarfed that of the smaller ships around it; three destroyers, a light cruiser, and several smaller ships. It was little more than a maritime patrol, a standard operation conducted regularly by small Harakian fleets. This one, on what basically amounted to a shakedown cruise for the Hoplite, had taken it from several small Harakian island bases through the Neo-Haraki colony, and now it was on its way back to Haraki, a very long distance away, when orders arrived for a change of course.

Captain David Sheen of the Hoplite was asleep when the orders came in, and he was awoken by a loud rapping noise at his door. Shaking sleep from his eyes, he opened the door and blinked several times at the messenger in front of him. Barely eighteen years old, he was fresh out of high school and into the navy, and always eager to please. "A change of orders has come in, sir," he said, holding out a piece of paper with some typewritten words on it. Sheen snatched it away and mumbled an incoherent response, sitting down at a chair in his small cabin, only one floor below the bridge.

HNS Hoplite

Change course bearing 150 degrees stop Rendezvous with submarine HNS Twilight and change course for Thranian Archipelago stop Begin CAP three hundred km from islands stop Further orders pending stop Captain David Sheen in command full stop

Admiral Louis Falhen

"Right from the top," he mumbled. Falhen was the commander of all fleet assets in the area. Apparently his inauguration cruise as the Hoplite's captain was to be one of an actual operational nature.

He hurriedly dressed and reported to the bridge. After taking command from the deck officer, he ordered the change in course to be radioed to the rest of the taskforce and for it to be made immediately, and retired to the communications room, where he spent ten minutes trying to establish a communications feed off a Harakian satellite to Admiral Blaine. When it finally clicked into place, Falhen appeared, looking slightly irritated at Sheen's call. "What is it, captain?" he nearly barked.

"Sir, you sent out orders for us to rendezvous with the Twilight and make our way to some archipelago?"

"That's right."

"Can I get clarification on the mission's details, sir?"

"Basically, a nation called Helectica attacked these Thranian Islands, and several people are stepping in. Vetaka operates an airbase on one of the islands, and Aequatio's ... well, we don't know what they're doing, but given President Reid's angry words, it probably involves the military. The Prime Minister wants to keep an eye on it and maybe intervene, so you're being sent to keep an eye on the situation. I'll send a more detailed report later. Any more questions?"

"Sir, the orders to begin Combat Air Patrol imply the prospect of combat?"

"It's a precaution, nothing more. We don't see any reason Helectica would attack us - it would be equivalent to signing a death warrant. In any case, in case they associate us with our Aequatian allies, or attack us for some strange reason, or we get mistaken for a whale, I want to have planes in the air. It's better to take extra precautions than to wind up with a sunk carrier and a dead captain, if you get my drift."

"Yes, sir. Loud and clear."

"I'll send you some more details later today. Now get going."

The feed cut off.

Sheen took the bridge once again and looked down at the deck of the carrier. Several dozen planes were sitting, wings folded, on the sides of the runway, behind and in front of the ship's tower. Several dozen more were stowed in hangars below the main deck. Looking behind him, he could see the long, curving wakes left by the carrier and its associated support ships. Until the report arrived, he was left only with speculation. One of the chief questions on his mind was: if it was only a watchdog operation, why was he rendezvousing with a missile submarine deployed to international waters? It implied more, and he wanted to know about it. But for now, he waited, and the ships kept moving.

Admiral Husten sat in his cabin looking over maps and charts judging where the main fleet would be by now when suddenly an urgent message sounded over his telecom from the radar operator

" Sorry to bother you Admiral but we have just picked up several unidentified air craft showing on radar about 650km southwest of our current position"

Husten paused for a moment and checked the location of the unknown craft on his charts
"continue tracking those planes and keep me updated on their location at 5 min. intervals until we have a visual ID on them"

Husten clicked a switch on his telecom and issued new orders to his flight officer Lt. Nero who quickly relayed the orders to his flight crews.

" Attention we have unknown aircraft in the vicinity send off two super hornets and get two more on alert 5 status orders get a Visual Id on those air craft do not engage i repeat do not engage unless fired upon they may be Vetakan forces conducting an operation"

950km from thranian sea Grand Admiral Jusov's fleet flagship Bella

Jusov made his way slowly down the narrow corridors of the ship towards his strategic planning room..

"Officer on Deck!" one of the lieutenants shouted and the room quickly snapped to a position of attention.

"As you were." Jusov replied calmy and sat his hat on the table infront of his seat while the other officers resumed their places.

"Sir we've recieved reports from Admiral Husten of possible enemy activity in the area and he suggests that we proceed with caution but reports no combat actions as of yet, he also wishes to inform you that he has set up a patrol grid and established a secure area for our fleet to approach from."

"Excellent..anything else?" Jusov replied while begining to look through a small dossier full of intel documents and maps of the area

"Not at this time sir..what are our current orders?" the other officers in the room sat almost motionless awaiting the reply of their commander

" As of right now we are to join with Admiral Husten's fleet and then and maintain a position 200km off the coast of Lugar island and monitor all Helectican activity in the area as of right now we're simply conducting a show of force and are hoping to goad the Helectians into a more aggressive stance before we deploy any of our forces into combat that is all ." Jusov then rose slowly carrying with him the dossier file and returning to the bridge

"Aye sir" with that the lieutenants snapped to attention and saluted as the Admiral left and then returned themselves to their respected stations on the

Sheen's small force had met up with the Twilight in the early hours of the morning, where Captain Alexis Marshall of the Twilight had come onboard the Hoplite and been greeted by a sleep-deprived Sheen, who had been up reading the report sent by Falhen, describing the situation in depth. Their conversation had been brief, with Marshall acknowledging Sheen's command of the operation and not revealing anything he happened to know about more of it. He appeared to have been given the same orders and report as Sheen had been.

The small, only slightly bolstered taskforce had carried on, the Hoplite its largest target, and in the early hours of the morning, as dawn was breaking, and getting closer to the Thranian Sea, had launched a four-plane reconnaissance flight out into the unknown ahead. Radar from the planes, flying at high altitudes to get low-angle radar sweeps farther into the distance, had detected a much larger fleet to the northeast, centred around a large carrier. Evidently the fleet had detected them as well, because several planes had been launched on an intercept course.

A message had been dispatched back to Falhen from Sheen, informing him of the situation. Falhen had been surprised to hear that a force from any nation was on station and deploying forces a thousand kilometres away from the islands, and had expressed concern about the safety of the taskforce. With a fleet carrier in the opposing force, the Hoplite would be outmatched in an engagement and would probably have to rely on its screening ships to give it a superior edge. The problem there was that the recon flight's radar had shown a much larger fleet with the opposing force than was present with the Hoplite. It was possible these forces were not even involved in the Helectica mess, and were instead on a patrol like the Hoplite had been, or were actively tracking them for whatever purpose. Regardless, Falhen had ordered immediate CAP cover over the carrier from then on, and acceding to his orders Sheen had organized an eight-plane patrol over the Hoplite at all times, with four more fighters on permanent standdown in case of an attack.

As the two intercepting planes got closer to the retreating recon flight, IFF confirmed them as planes from Gataway, implying Gataway's ownership over the fleet carrier. It lessened the risk of an attack, but did not entirely eliminate it. Sheen was left with a difficult choice, whether to make the first move or let his opposing number make it. He opted for the latter option. CAP was maintained over the Harakian fleet at all times, and the destroyers and missile cruiser on station were ordered to thirty-second readiness on all anti-missile and anti-aircraft systems. The Harakians would not be unprepared, no matter what happened.

OOC: Harakian forces in the Hoplite's taskforce include:

The HNS Hoplite, a Retribution-class light carrier (operates 60 aircraft)
An Excalibur-class light cruiser, the HNS Bull
Three Royal-class destroyers, the HNS Swallow, Glider, and Charlie
The HNS Polaris, a Sirius-class heavy missile cruiser
The HNS Twilight, a Twilight-class SSBN
Plus several frigates, but I won't get into those.

All ship designs are Harakian-made and built.

Thranian Sea, HS Gladiator, 8:00, Murky:

Billy Ty glanced down at his watch. He hated sleeping on submarines, and this trip was no exception. They'd been sitting around all night for what? Some ferry-boat sized fleet? He shrugged and hoisted himself out of the narrow bunk, and headed over to the main control room down the narrow corridor. He collapsed his chair and began his radar work. Nothing...Nothing...Nothing..Nothing..What the hell?!

"Oi, captain, get over 'ere!!" The captain, a tall, elegant, lean man, rushed over.
"Jesus" he muttered.
"What is that, a carrier?"
"Damn straight"
Billy cursed. Suddenly a radio transmission crackled before saying "HS Bear, This is HS Gladiator, are you seeing what I'm seeing?"
The captain snatched up a radio transmitter
"Yeah,"
"What should we do?"
"Contact Admiral Gregory, he's on the HS Javelin,"
"Roger, over"

The room fell silent as all the other men turned to the captain, who began to speak in a newfound bark;
"Billy, wake up the rest of the crew, Ulysses, arm those torpedoes, Lance, listen for orders from the Admiral, everyone else, rise us to 500 feet below,"

Thranian Sea, HS Javelin, 8:10, Murky:
Admiral Phillip Gregory stared intensley at the radar before listening to the radio crackle then say:
"HS Javelin, this is HS Bear, you see that?"
The admiral picked up the radio,
"What do you mean, 'Do you see that?' of course I do you idiot?"
"Uh...What do you want us to do?"
"Head over to that thing and tell it to get the hell away from Thranian waters,"
"Rog-"
"-And I'll do the radioing, all the rest sink as deep as you can go and keep that cloak up, we'll still have the element of surprise if they think it's one"
"Roger that, over"
The admiral turned to his crew. "Head over to the damn submarine, raise to 100 feet below,"
The submarine gave a violent shudder as it suddenly shot forward. There was a big difference between this speed and a standstill. Their radar indicated that the other submarines had begun to follow, but were not raising like they were. "Good, good" muttered Admiral Gregory. Soon they were around 500ms away from the carrier. The admiral waited for them to spot the submarine, not submarines, on their radar.

The main Operations Room on Andrews Airbase was below ground the Vetakan Defence Force had decided to re-inforce the Bunker to provide extra defence. The main wall was covered in HD Screens. The main one that usually showed a map of the Island now showed a very large face. Vetakan Defence Force Supreme Operational Commander Stone to be precise the top dog in the Vetakan Military. That usually made people think of him as a stuck up Commander in actual fact Supreme Commander Stone was far from it:

"Patterson you have the full use of an entire Fleet and Army should you require it. Keep yourself low key and monitor the situation. Continue to carry out SAR Missions and ADN Missions. Keep us updated Patterson." spoke Supreme Commander Stone with a smile.

"Of course Commander. Speak to you soon." replied Patterson.

"VDF Command Out. For Vetaka. For the Dominion" replied Stone.

"Andrews Out. For Vetaka. For the Dominion" Shouted Patterson whilst respectfull saluting.

The screen flicked back to Lugar Island and the surrounding Seas. It showed cities and ships. The Vetakan Base was now in the middle of a possible hostile Warzone. As a result the base had now been heavily fortified and Defended. Patterson watched the screen hoping that their would not be much Conflict in this Beautiful Region.

"Motherfucker," was the first word out of the sonar officer's mouth as the passive scans suddenly started picking up an unidentified submarine. He spun in his chair and looked directly at the Swallow's CO, one Lieutenant Commander Dennis Jelya, shouting out "Submarine, dead ahead. Closing fast."

Jelya was at his side in seconds, leaning over his shoulder. "Are you sure?"

"Sonar's picking it up loud and clear. Metallic pings, not like the sea life we've been getting all trip."

"Shit. Begin active scans towards it, it might not be alone." Jelya turned towards the communications. "Radio Captains Sheen and Marshall, let them know what we've spotted."

It was done in under a minute, and Sheen was suddenly faced with the very real prospect of a submarine attack on his fleet. Even as he contemplated what to do, wondering whether he should radio Falhen and ask for orders, he received word from the Swallow that two more had been sighted, diving deep down into the ocean, evidently trying to remain hidden even in the face of concentrated Harakian sonar sweeps. Three submarines, maybe with more on the way. The advantage was that only one was at a depth it could fire torpedoes from. Still, it was not much comfort. Sheen froze.

It was only Captain Alexis Marshall of the HNS Twilight that prevented the taskforce from possible destruction and humiliation. Radioing Sheen, he offered his suggestions: that the Twilight dive further and keep tabs on the two deep submarines, while the Swallow, closest to the dangerous one, and one of the ASW frigates, would close and subtlely threaten destruction with depth charges and ASW rocket-equipped torpedoes if the submarine did not back down.

In the meantime, more planes were scrambled from the Hoplite. Launching into the air were torpedo bombers and fighter-bombers outfitted for anti-submarine capacities with depth charge-like bombs under their wings, designed to penetrate the water's surface and explode upon proximity with a metallic object, or if they reached a preset depth. Even as these planes were rapidly outfitted and scrambled into the air, the Swallow accelerated, together with one of the smaller frigates, making directly for the submarine. The Twilight, already underwater after the Swallow's notification of an enemy submarine's presence, dove further, towards the two submarines below. In the meantime, all the ships of the fleet began active radar and sonar scans in all directions, and the CAP was expanded to provide more detailed information in all directions. If three submarines were present, there was a danger of more, or of a surface fleet in the area, and the Harakians did not want to be taken by surprise.

Sheen grabbed the radio and sent off a brief message on all frequencies into the unknown. "Unidentified submarines, this is Captain David Sheen of the Harakian naval ship Hoplite. Please surface and identify yourselves." The silent subtext was quite clear as well. Do it, or we could well end up in a situation we would all regret.

Gataway Combined Fleets 300km off the coast of Lugar Island

Admiral Jusov stood at the helm reading over the numerous reports that had been coming in all night about all the new activity going on in the area at least one fleet had been identified as a Harakian battle group and although it was much smaller than the Gatawan fleet Admiral Jusov exercised caution and made sure not to have any of his planes patrol too close to the Harakian fleet..the newest possible threat was an unidentified submarine which had prompted Jusov to put all ships on high alert and step up patrols as well as launching several anti-submarine aircraft

Jusov paused for a moment and looked at an image hanging in the bridge it was an Image of Admiral Lichen who had been Jusov's mentor and one of the key figures had led Gataway to its independance. " I will make you proud.." he spoke under his breath before turning to one of his lieutenants

" I want a strike group in the air and ready to attack at a moments notice and have our CAP's stepped up and for god sake's get some more p-3's in the air to search for more subs and identify the one we've found im sure that one's not alone and I'll be damned if i get caught napping."

"Aye sir " the Lieutenant turned and left the bridge making his way to inform the flight crews of the new orders

Jusov then turned his attention to a communications officer

" Get me contact with the Harakian fleet and transmit the following...This is Grand Admiral Jusov of the Gatawan People's Navy..stop...We are here conducting a show of force and possible military action against the Helectican forces should diplomatic relations breakdown..stop...we have no intention of bearing hostilites towards your fleet..stop..we request to know what your actions in the area are and what your current military stance towards Gataway is if it is not neutral...stop...We also ask if you are in need of any assisstance as we have a medical ship present..stop...furthermore we wish to know if the submarine we are currently tracking is Harakian or foreign...stop...Again we are not seeking hostilites with Haraki or your fleet..end transmission...did you get all that ensign?"

"Aye sir" The young officer replied whipping a bead of sweat from his forehead

"Good now transmit this message to the Vetakan base...Greetings this is Grand Admiral Jusov of the Gatawan People's Navy..stop...we have arrived and are holding our current position off the coast..stop...we wish to request the location of any craft you have operating in close vicinity to our fleet if any..stop...Gataway intends to stick to its word and now harm any Vetakan forces during our operations in the area..stop...We must also ask if the submarine we are currently tracking is Vetakan or foreign..end transmission."

"Aye sir message sent we will await their replies"

"Good..its been a long night and I am going to retire to my quarters alert me when there is some news...captian Lewis you have the bridge"
Upon turning control of the bridge over to Captain Lewis Jusov looked out the window at the impressive fleet assembled before him before turning and making his way to his cabin a few decks below

He ended the transmission, and then changed the radio frequence to the inter-submarine channel. "All submarines, including the newly arrived, please raise to torpedo level. You never know how trigger happy these people can be."

When he had shut the d oor the Governor stifled a laugh and snatched up the folder, opening up and arranging the sheets inside across his desk. His smile slowly faded as his eyes flicked down the page. He reached for the phone, stopped himself, retracted his hand, then reached for it again, and dialed a number for General Harley. The general picked up.

Three platoons of Federal Guards, the elite-class soldier of the Helectican Army, began to board a set of transports headed to Stottle Island, a small thing, not much more than a fifty mile diameter. Apparently the one-citied island was a bit upset with the newfound Helectican occupation, and they guards were heading over to stamp it out. It'd be a two hour ship ride on the relatively slow transport, but there was no need for speed, so this was fine. Accompanying them was a tank, and if they needed, heavy air backup. But no trouble was to be expected. Probably just some teens who got hold of old grandpa's rifle, or something pathetic like that.

"Sir.... its a tradition, the briefing must be given in Anglo-Russian...."

"Bollocks to tradition Molotov. This is a perfect time to overthrow the occupation on the island in question and we musn't waste anymore time than we already have." Without further ado, the 'man' barked an order in russian in the recruits direction and they quickly got onto their feet. The mission was simple, to make sure that a crate of weapons reached the underground movement on the island and to assist in any other way they can. Yepi's involvement in this however had to be kept a secret. If captured the man was advised to take his life with a pill he kept in his pocket. These were trained men, men who worked for their whole lives for this.

The crate contained a large amount of weapons, explosives and ammo. About 25-AK-74's, 10 clips for each, 20kg of explosives, and 5 or so LAW's. Enough to perhaps kick start a small war, especially since this was not the only crate being dropped on the island. These crates were to be assisted with 5 men per crate and to be transported safely to the designated zone.

Early next morning, some place over 'the island', 5:30

"GO GO GO" shouted the pilot.
The plane then almost instantly deposited its cargo of weapon crate and man over a small sleepy town somewhere in the heart of a large amount of vegetation. The men landed quickly and unholstered their pistols. Ammo was in short supply as a definite supplier of various resources had not been found, thus they each relied on 2 clips for their silenced HK's, one clip of silenced pistol, Grappling hook or 2 remote pieces of C4.

The one whose name was Red, signalled that the coast was clear and they proceeded to drag the crate through the shadow of the moon above them. The island which the group was on, was in fact 'Stottle Island' and very soon in perhaps 4-5 hours the real fighting would begin.

Not only does it have nothing to do with you or your sovereignty, but it also is not in anyway a distasteful invasion. We have brought not only a higher level of welfare to the Helectican people, but to the people of the said islands as well. Under our rule these islands are provided with a better government, better access to manufactured goods, better medical technology, better protection, etc. You must understand this. And I find there to be no reason to adhere to your militaristic demands. I have yet to be assured that your approaching ships or not indeed planning to bombard the islands at any second, and are placing a naval presence near them in order to provide the people of Helectica with a sense of security that if you do indeed decide to attack us, you will be thwarted.

The Township of Nitralugani is a small backwater town, surronded by jungle except for a small dirt road that leads out of it, through the jungle, and towards the only city on the island, twenty five miles later. It is isolaed, and particularly well situated to headquarter a resistance. Thanks to some intelligence provided by a spy planted there to act as a local, the Government of Helectica obtained information hinting that the newfound resistance on Stottle Island may indeed be centered there. To respond to this, 50 Federal Guards were deployed in the surronding jungle. 3 of the FGs were now 10 feet into the thick jungle surronding the town, observing a suspicious procession. A plane had been picked up on the radar of the cruiser stationed at the island. The cruiser had been patrolling around the island when the plane was picked up heading in the direction Nitralugani.

Now heavily plastered with paint on their faces, donning jungle-camo gear, and armed with a various assortment of weapons, among them scoped M-16s and Desert Eagle pistols, three FGs were crouched, their nightvision goggles trained on the men carrying the mysterious crate. Hidden seamlessly in the jungle, one man clicked his gun to "single" shot, and trained it on one of the moving men, before drawing it down. They would wait, until there were more. More birds with one stone.

Offical Message to Helectian Government

Open deception and using humanitarian aid or inspector "masks" is not the way Gataway conducts warfare very well we will be launching two helicopters of inspectors within the next few moments to arrive at Lugar Island however should anything happen to any inspector Gataway will see this as an act of war.

OOC: Helectica, do you think I could get an exact number of submarines present around the Harakian fleet? Even though we only know about three of them, with active sonar scans in every direction and passive sonar as well, if any more come near we'll find out about them. Would help if I OOC know how many there are.

IC:

Sheen was far from a diplomat. Truth be told, he was not even the most fitting captain either. He failed to properly motivate his forces, and he relied on orders from above. Upon discovering he was conversing with an admiral of the Helectican navy, he froze once more, unfreezing after several seconds and reaching uneasily for the microphone. "We are in the area on a routine patrol to keep an eye on the situation here. We'd all like to avoid a diplomatic incident, especially with a Gatawan war fleet in the area, and we're here to keep both eyes on what's going on." No need to tell them more than that, especially as he had no orders to the contrary. Switching off the microphone, he turned to his executive officer, standing next to him looking slightly concerned. "We're still in international waters, aren't we?" he hissed.

The XO nodded. "Three hundred kay-em from the nearest shoreline, and that's the Thranian Archipelago. Technically, they're violating international protocol by harassing us like this in international waters."

"I'm not going to be the one to tell them that," Sheen replied, a sense of urgency in his voice.

"I didn't say you should. I'm saying we're not even in Helectican, let alone Thranian, national waters. Of course, our plotted course takes us directly into and through both, and they're probably working off that."

Suddenly the inter-fleet comm channel crackled to life, and Captain Marshall's voice came through it clearly. "Captain Sheen, the two enemy submarines are rising up towards the surface. Could be surfacing, could be getting ready to torpedo us, could be moving away. No way to know for sure. Should I carry on matching their depth?"

"Yes," Sheen said, glad the decision had been made for him. Already, Marshall was learning how to order his operational commander about with biased questions. "Keep me posted."

Sheen turned to the XO. "You have the bridge. I'm going to contact Falhen and get new orders, given we've been spotted and confronted. If Admiral Gregory sends another transmission, let me know."

The XO sighed. Of course. It was what he always did. Hide in his shell until told to emerge.

Sheen managed to raise Falhen easily. Evidently the admiral was already prepared for his transmission. "Yes, Sheen, what is it?" His tone was impatient.

"Sir, what should I do in this situation? We have a surfaced Helectican submarine, several more submerged, and a transmission from a Grand Admiral of the Galawan navy asking our intentions. I've relayed it to you."

"Yes, I've received it. I ordered a satellite sweep of the area, and from preliminary images you're very outmatched by the Galawan fleet. I count two fleet carriers, look like Nimitzes, and at least half a dozen missile cruisers, plus assorted small ships and about a dozen transports. Clouds are scattered, it's hard to get a good reading, but to sum it up, unless we attacked them and got the element of surprise, we'd be done for without some serious luck. I'll send them off a message. You worry about the Helecticans. Tell them our intentions: to keep an eye on the situation and try not to provoke anybody.
Oh, and has the Twilight picked up any sonar pings not from the Helecticans?"

Sheen shook his head.

"Good. Keep it that way. Falhen out."

Sheen gulped as the transmission was cut, stood up, smoothed his uniform, and returned to the bridge, still fretting.

Gatawan combined Fleet 300km off coast of Lugar Island

Admiral Jusov lay asleep in his bunk after the long voyage from Gataway and the very eventful first few hours since the fleets arrival in the area when suddenly his door alarm rang and he rose startled quickly from his bunk

"Yes..yes what is it?" He clammerd as he got up and began getting dressed.

"Sir we've recieved a transmission from the Harakian fleet and as requested captain lewis ordered it brought to you immediately."

"Very well." Jusov replied while opening the door to his cabin and making his way to the bridge while glancing over the Harakian transmission...

"So they're here simply to monitor the situation and wish to remain neutral..seems smart on their part considering the size of our battle group alone is enough to demolish any force in the area currenty..but would they say the same if they had a fleet to match ours.." Admiral Jusov thought to himself being the skeptical and cautious commander that he was before returning to his post at the helm.

"Relay this message back to the Harakian's... Recieved message...stop...our intentions are to display a show of force or be ready for military actions against the Helecticans...stop..reason for actions to help protect soverignty of conquered peoples..stop...further reasons are to ensure no human rights violations are occuring..stop...confirmed sub is not Harakian..stop...we thank you for the intel stop...We maintain a neutral stance towards Harakian forces..stop... furthermore we believe Haraki would possibly make a good ally to have in the region..stop..request to maintain contact to share joint intel in the area...stop...or a possible face to face meeting to discuss our plans in a more private secure setting...stop transmission..."

Jusov quickly looked over a few of the logs and transmissions among the fleet ships and checked the charts "no new activity and the Helectians seem to be trying to flex some muscle eh..let them we will not be bullied around by a chain of islands." with that Jusov returned the bridge to Captain Lewis and made his way back towards his cabin

OOC: for future reference its GaTaway or GaTawan lol im not ticked off just saying lol and yes it would be nice if we had some more info on Helectican forces so far i know you have a carrier ( i think i read about a carrier earlier maybe im mistaken and thinking of the Harakian fleet) and at least 4 or 5 submarines which all combined even with one carrier would be a thorn in my big toe with the fleet i have deployed currently

300km from Thranian Waters, 11:00, Murky:
The Admiral listened, nodding to himself as the transmission came. He frowned himself and snatched up the transmitter, before speaking into it.
"We're watching you, captain,"
He placed it down and turned to his crew, who were awaiting orders.
"We're movin' out. Head to the edge of Thranian waters. We'll wait"
The crew nodded, and the admiral picked up the transmitter. He once again changed the frequency to the intersubmarine channel before saying "All Submarines, Head to Edge Of Thranian Waters, Submarine Level"
Slowly the entire fleet of submarines, that being six of them, began to move away from the ship, and North, towards Thranian waters.

King's Bay, Lugar Island, 11:00, Sunny:
They came slowly, but steadily. A huge stream of these titans mowed their way through the bays gaping mouth and into it, brandishing their cannons. They were T-Class Destroyers, a thing of Helectican origin, outfitted with a steady row of cannons in. They were huge things, holding a crew of 5,000. 8 of them in total were now arriving in King's Bay. To accompany this were another two Carriers, which housed 20 jets in total. The fleet was finally completely when 4 submarines idled into the inlet. That is when the order came from central command. They were to move out, to the edge of Helectican waters, and wait for the inevitable to happen.

Lugar Island, Search and Rescue Training Mission, 13:00, Sunny:

Andrews Airbase on Lugar Island was a Vetakan Airbase its primary aim was to provide support to Vetakan Air Defence Network. However its most active and secondary aim was to provide a Search and Rescue Service to ships travelling through the region. As a result the Vetakan SAR teams trained as much as possible to provide the very best surface. The day was sunny with a slight breeze. Altough Lugar and the region was now the scene of a tense stand off between a number of nations and fleets. Andrews Airbase was attempting to carry on life as normal. As a result todays training mission was to go ahead as possible. Todays mission involved 1 Seaking being scrambled to a distress location just off the coast. Their the Seaking would stage a mock rescue of a fixed dummy using its winch. From their the rescuing Seaking would send out another message saying its winch had broken and it was unable to rescue the casulty. As a result the second Seaking would deploy rescue the dummy and both Seakings would return to base.

"Andrews Command to Seaking 1. Distress signal recivced. Location 3 Miles from Lugar Coastline transferring Co-Ordinates now. Deploy and Rescue. Seaking 1 understand?" spoke the Watch Commander

"Command Roger that Seaking 1 Deploying" replied the Seaking 1 Pilot.

The Seaking Helicopters rotar begin to pick up speed before it left the ground it rose vertically before turning and shooting off towards the distress signal. Its winchman knowing it was a training mission began to check the winch over. It wouldn't belong before they where on scene. It fact it took just 6 minutes to arrive they say the training bouy and the attached dummy. The Seaking hovered above while its Pilot kept the Command Room Updated. The Winchman simulated the Winch and the simulated the Winch breaking. He shouted over the chatter to the pilot whom inturn spoke into his headset.

"Seaking 1 to Andrews Command. Winch has broken. Repeat Winch has broken. Immediate Assistance Request." instructed the Pilot.

"Seaking 1 Roger that. Command to Seaking 2 deploy to Seaking 1's location. Carry out rescue and RTB in formation. Seaking 2 Understand?" spoke the Base Commander.

"Roger that Command. Seaking 2 deploying to Seaking 1 Location Standby." Barked Seaking 2's pilot.

Gatawan Combined fleet

Admiral Jusov sat calmly eating his breakfast and as usal had his face buried in a dossier full of the latest intel when a certain satellite feed caught his eye causing him to nearly choke on a piece of his morning toast the images revealed the Helectican fleet with 3 carriers underway quickly Jusov dressed grabbed his cup of coffee and made his way to the bridge.

"Has anyone else seen these reports?" Barked the Admiral

Captain lewis turned surprised to see the admiral up already " Aye sir we've been monitoring the situation and we have confirmed that the subs are Helectican..we've also recieved a transmission from the Vetakan base that they are conducting a search and rescue operation and we've located their two seakings on our radar already."

"Very well however we have a change of plans set course for us to move towards the Harakian fleet and put us in a position 200km west of their current position and shadow them from there."

With that the entire Gatawan Fleet pulled up anchor turned and started sailing full speed to take up a position near the Harakian fleet Admiral Jusov turned again to the communications officer "relay our move to the Harakian fleet and make sure they understand we are not moving to attack them"

After issuing his last order Jusov made his way uneasily back to his cabin he sensed the rising tensions and knew that the situation had become a powder keg that only needed a small spark to set it off once back in his cabin Jusov issued his situation report to high command back home before leaving to have a strategic meeting with the other officers

OOC: Gataway, sorry about the mistake in your name. It was entirely unintentional.

Falhen was rapidly growing tired of Sheen's dependence on orders from above. It was time-consuming and could potentially lead to a disaster in the future if the fleet was attacked and he took his time responding. He made a mental note to reassign him to a heavy cruiser. Such a man was not fit to command a carrier. For now, though, he remained the captain of the Hoplite. He did not have to remain commander of the mission, though. Marshall was more competent, had more experience, and had once had to deal with a very tricky situation involving the joint Harakia-TDP Operational Silent Night. Frankly, Falhen was surprised he hadn't been promoted already.

A brief message was dispatched to Sheen.

From: Falhen
To: Sheen

You are hereby relieved of overall command of the operation. Captain Alexis Marshall to take overall command of Harakian TF Hoplite. That is all.

It was quick and got the message across.

Marshall's appointment came only several hours after the withdrawal of Admiral Gregory's submarines, and sonar sweeps showed the Harakian fleet in the clear. When the Gatawan message arrived, Marshall was quick to reply.

To Adm Jusov...stop...From Captain Alexis Marshall HNS Twilight...stop...Cannot confirm alliance at this time...stop...Dangers of Harakian ships being attacked in case of Gatawan action against Helectica too great...stop...Maybe some other time...full stop

Upon hearing later that the Gatawan fleet was moving towards them to shadow their positions, despite the politely-worded message from Admiral Jusov, Marshall became incensed. Radioing the Hoplite, he instructed Captain Sheen to increase the CAP to a constant twelve fighters patrolling over the fleet, in case of a Gatawan or Helectican strike, with ASW planes and torpedo bombers on standdoww status, ready to launch in several minutes. Another transmission, this one more brief, pointed, and angry, was sent to Jusov.

To Adm Jusov...stop...From Captain Marshall...stop...Request to know intentions of Gatawan fleet in closing towards our position...stop...Keep your distance...stop...As before dangers of Helectican assumptions on the state of relations between Haraki and Gataway too great...full stop

Even as he finished sending the message, the surfaced sub's communications array was being transmitted at by Falhen. The conversation was brief, but established several points. Falhen made it clear that the ordered satellite sweep had picked up a fleet confirmed as Helectican, including at least one carrier. Though smaller than the Hoplite, it added a new level of danger to the Harakian situation. The potential power projection of the Helectican fleet, combined with Admiral Gregory's cryptic and dangerous final message, made Taskforce Hoplite's position and strength untenable.

As such, Falhen had ordered reinforcements. Under his command back at the main Harakian base in the area were several larger ships, including one fleet carrier, the Dragoon-class HNS Carrack under Captain Helen Watson, with 96 planes in eight flights stationed on it. On Falhen's direct orders, a force under Commodore Xavier Fuego, flying his flag from the Carrack, would leave the Harakian base to bolster Harakian forces in the area and provide ample protection for Harakian interests in the area. The new force would arrive in several days, steaming at 30 knots day and night until its rendezvous with the Hoplite's taskforce.

Further reinforcements were not promised or expected. The arriving forces would be enough to make the Harakians a force in the area, not just something to be ignored. Any more reinforcements would have to come from Haraki itself or one of the larger colonies, where significant portions of the sizeable fleet were housed. As of now, Falhen's main reserves were all-but exhausted. The only real forces he would be able to send in support now were several batallions of marines stationed at his main base.

OOC: Composition of the reinforcements:
The HNS Carrack, a Dragoon-class fleet carrier outfitted with 96 planes
The HNS Bane, a Wolfe-class heavy cruiser
A Shark-class missile cruiser, the HNS Hammerhead
Three Royal-class destroyers, the HNS Thyrus, Warner and Opal
One Excalibur-class light cruiser, the HNS Vortigos
Three Nautilus-class nuclear-powered attack submarines, the HNS Jeffries, Thakchuk, and Casion

The telcom rang repeatedly in Jusov's Cabin...

"Yes what is it?" he leaned in closer to the telecom to ensure he was heard clearly

"Sir we've recieved transmission from the Harakian fleet that we are to remain at a safe distance due to the risk of their ships being accidentally attacked is deemed to high by their commanders."

"Very well order a full stop and we'll hold here instead..radio them that we recieved their message and are complying with their wishes."

"Aye sir" replied the communcations officer, no sooner had the transmission ended that Jusov had called a tactical meeting to discuss on how to deal with the Helectian fleet

Tactical ops room Flagship Bella
The room was teeming with anticipation as the officers sat waiting for Jusov's to arrive they wouldn't have to wait long...

"Officer on deck!" One of the captains shouted and the room froze every man standing stiff as a board

"As you were.." Jusov replied. "What intel do you have for me regarding this Helectian menace?" Jusov spoke firmly with a commanding voice that calmed his mens nerves.

"Well sir we know they have at least 2 carriers several destroyers we've picked up at least 8 on satellite feeds and we're aware they have subs in the area, also picked up on satellite we know they have troops scattered across the different islands and that their digging in like ticks."

"Very well we're still the most powerful force in the region at the moment anyone have any suggestions on how to deal with them?" Jusov looked around the room most of the officers had never experianced combat before or were fresh out of the Academy but one promising young Leutinant captian Daniels finally spoke up nervously at first....
"Sir I believe the best course of action for us would be to simultaneously attack their submarines and carriers...
"They cant match us ship for ship and we'll have more than adequate air-missle and surface-air defences.
"We can simply overwhelm their defences with a missile and torpedo barrage and they won't be able to defend both carrier and subs while we will be more than able to defend ourselves against their counter attack."

The room sat silently while Daniels tugged at his collar anxiously awaiting the Admiral's response.

"Sounds like a good plan to me Daniels ill send a message to high command to get ourselves clearance to engage." Well thought out son..

with that Daniels breathed a sigh of relief before the room snapped back to attention as Admiral Jusov made his way to the bridge in order to message high command..it seemed as tho the spark Jusov had been waiting for was about to be struck

King's Bay, HS Zeus, 16:00, Sunny:
Admiral Thompson glanced down at the images infront of him. The Helectican satellites were bring bad news. Bad, bad news. The Gatawan fleet was well...very big. Thompson new that over 40 new fighter jets were flying in from the far reaches of the Thranian Archipelago, but that still would not be enough. The only solution would be the uniquley hidden missle siloes that dotted along the islands. In them lay a considerable stock of Scud Missles, which would be most effecting against large ships, which have slow mobility. Of course, the siloes were designed to be covered in foliage and therefore not visible on satellite readouts, a handy feature when it comes to such powers as Gatawan. Thompson picked up his new Razr phone, which his nephew got him for his sixtieth birthday. He flipped it open and dialed a number. "Yes, this is Admiral Thompson, may I speak to President Kings,"
There was a pause. You knew you had power when you could call up the president on a moments notice.
"Yes, Mr. President, its Admiral Thompson, from the fleet in King's Bay. I request permission to use Scud Missiles if need be,"
There was a pause,
"The Gatawan Navy,"
Another pause.
"Thank you sir, you will not regret it sir."
He hung up before calling General Hak, the man in charge of the missiles. "General, this is Admiral Thompson, from King's Bay. You should have just received a goahead for arming the Scud missiles. On my call, please open the siloes and fire at the targets I am now sending you via the military computer communication system."
There was a pause
"Yes, those ships. The big ones. Track 'em, and Scud 'em on my word."
A pause
"Thank you General."

If not, would you mind just maybe explaining a bit about the geography, Helectica's geographic relation to the Thranian Islands, and maybe what holdings Helectica has taken on the islands? President Kings walked up to the podium, radiating confidence with each and every step. His light eyes and firey red hair gave him the look of unchallenged authority. Cameras flashed as he turned to face the sea of reporters. With a light touch, he moved the main microphone towards a more suitable position, and began to speak, in a strong, daring voice.

"At 16:30, less than an hour ago, a Vetakan helicopter came under fire over Helectican land. I would personally like to assure the Vetakan people that we," he paused, looking around; He was very charismatic; "We did not did not commit this atrocity. And when I saw 'we', I speak for the humble nation of Helectica. However, I do not mean to throw out fruitless apologies. I have something you may want to hear to accompany our condolescences. I believe we can point our fingers at an unnamed rebel group that is now pathetically occupying Stottle Island, the island over which the helicopter was shot down,"

More nations were entering the fray and thus Seargent Molotov took the calculated risk of dropping the other 25 men of the spec ops team with their weapon creats. If these crates were to reach the rebels then the rebels would be able to keep up with their underground war. The Yepi government had spent a fair amount on these weapons, and thus expected something in return from the rebels. The rebels promised raw resources for helping them keep their island so that was exactly what Yepi was planning to do. As the spec ops team parachuted down, they quickly grabbed the crates and ran towards their objectives. Or rather if you could call lugging a 30 kilo crate fast, running. Neither of the men had yet realised that they were being watched, they were all under the impression that they were alone and that the Helectican government would leave this island alone long enough for them to bring in some heavy armour, defense etc. They were wrong.

Gataway Imperial Capital,Imperial Palace, Press Conference Room

Emperor Nadov made his way slowly down the corridor towards the press room podium, upon entering the room fell silent under his commanding presence as he stood tall in his full military dress uniform, the only sound heard was the sound of the camera shutters as reporters hurried to capture a rare public image of the Emperor...Nadov then began his speech a touch of arrogance and uncompromising attitude in his voice...

"As I am sure you are all aware by now of the conflict and rising tensions with Helectica in the Thranian Archipelago region...
Now it seems these overly aggressive, oppressive barbarians are again defying the international community by attacking the neutral country of Vetaka..whom they had previously promised not to harm..
the attacks were carried out while the Vetakan forces were conducting a simple training exercise with unarmed air craft. It seems as if the Helecticans have again shown their true colors as aggressive, unmoralistic, cowards.
The deceitful Helectican government would have the international community believe that it was rebels who carried out these attacks...Rebels that are currently fighting to reclaim their independance that was unjustifiably taken from them by the Helecticans.
I assure you that if the international community will do nothing then we will, and we will not be deceived by the Helectican government under the reprobate president Kings."

With that Emperor Nadov turned and headed back into the palace ignoring the hailstorm of questions being thrown at him by reports..along the way he stopped and whispered to one of his senior military personell.."Alert Admiral Jusov to prepare for war." The officer nodded gave a salute and then quickly parter to relay the message.

Gatawan Fleet

News of the attack on the Vetakan craft had already reached Admiral Jusov and as such he had put all ships on the highest state of alert and had given orders during the night to have one strike force in the air at all times alternating carriers. Admiral Jusov stood on the bridge, but unlike most of the other officers fresh out of academy Jusov had a sense of calmness about him that relaxed his men.

"Admiral we've just recieved a message from High command we're ordered to prepare for immediate combat.

Admiral Jusov smirked a bit.."Well its about time the gloves came off.. Here we go gentlemen." Admiral Jusov began to rattler out orders one after another maintaining his calm collect attitude..

"Order all the missle ships to prepare a salvo of anti-ship missles to coordinate with the strike craft..Have the Nadov launch its fighter cover wings to bolster our air defences and have half the cruisers and 2 destroyers arm their anti-air anti-missle batteries.."

"Have the other half of the cruisers arm their anti-ship rockets and put the rest of destroyers on anti-sub operations along with all but 2 of the frigates who will also bolster our air defences."

"And have our submarines come to comms depth and prepare strikes on helectican fortifications everything else i want targeted on their carriers and the rest of their fleet..schedule the attack for early morning maybe we can catch them napping.. is that Understood?"

The officers on the bridge took a moment to absorb everything then replied "Aye sir" before rushing off to relay the orders.

"Get me the Vetakan base and Harakian fleet inform them we are preparing for a military operation against Helectica and would advise them to limit their operations around our battle group."

The communications officer quickly began zeroing in frequencies to alert the Vetakan and Harakian forces of the upcoming action...
Admiral Jusov returned to the helm and stood looking out over the fleet anticipating his enemies next move.

He had just taken a picture and was now taking more of seemingly Yepi soldiers dragging mysterious crates along the ground. Some were falling from the sky, parachutes billowing behind them. When he had finished taking a sufficiently informative amount of pictures (which the camera would then radio to the command center back in Helectica), he nodded to the rest of his squad. Fg. Craig Thomas was preparing silently his shoulder-mounted RPG-launcher up in the canopy. Timmy the Sharpshooter was keeping his aim on the lead soldier. The rest of the squad, who were armed with various special forces weapons, were waiting for Timothy's command.

It all happened simultaneously. Craig fire a grenade just infront of convoy of crates as Timothy, Timmy, and the rest of the squad opened a barage of gunfire. One of the soldiers, Marcus Lotuk, emptied a couple of clips into the various parachuter's parachutes, hopining the 10 bullets per parachute would be enough to make them fall to their deaths. They still remained in the forest however, to avoid revealing their position. William McRed, who had a shoulder-mounted grenade launcher to match Craig, fired at the back of the convoy.

Gatawan Fleet

The sound of planes roared as the strike fleet and fighter cover groups assembled over head in preperation for the attack. Admiral Jusov like the rest of the sailors had donned his flack vest however he refused to wear his helmet. He stood holding his fleet radio mic.

"On my order deploy the first salvo against the Helectican carriers.....FIRE!"

the sky around the Gatawan fleet lit up followed with a steady roar as dozens and dozens of anti-ship missles roared off towards the Helectican fleet simultaneously the first strike group of air craft had roared off and upon reaching maxium weapons range they too fired they're salvo of anti-ship missles towards the Helectican fleet and then turned back to re-arm

Jusov stood calmly at the helm watching the streaks of exhaust from the missles trail off over the sea...

"Have our frigates form a screen along the fleet they'll be sure to counter attack."

"Aye sir." The communications officer immediately got on the radio and relayed the orders.

Admiral Jusov clicked a switch on the telecom " Fire when ready." is all he said before clicking the switch back over.

With that the Gatawan subs rose to strike depth launched their missles heading towards Helectican land fortifications and then resubmerged although these strikes were not as heavy as the ones against the Helectican fleet they were mostly ment to be somewhat of a diversion

King's Bay, 17:00, A Helectican Fleet
The radar lit up with blips. "That fool," muttered Admiral Gregory. He wheeled around to the inter-ship radio frequency. "All fighters, take off, all fighters, take off, all fighters, take off. Head for Gatawan fleet, the following are the coords," he then turned to the communications managers, who were currently either working to scramble the Gatawan communications or transmit the coords.

Admiral Gregory then snatched up a radio transmitter, whic transmitterdd to the 2 newly constructed airstrips on Lugar Island, and shouted the following,
"Anti-missle choppers, take off," This meant that around 30 choppers would take off, hover around a mile infront of the fleet, and at the right moment, drop tons and tons of debris into the air, aiming to make it so the missiles, instead of hitting the ships, hit the debris. From the bridge the Admiral could see a black cloud of choppers rising from the gorund 1 mile inland.

He then snatched up a phone after placing the transmitter down, and called the missles siloes, telling each of the five siloes to launch one of their now ready-for-launch Scuds. Finally, he orderee all battle-ships to fire their immensley long range cannons at the Gatawan's fleet's coordinate. The anti-air guns on the beaches and surronding terrain were aiming to shoot down any missiles.

OOC: Sorry, what are TGs? I'm really new to the forums. And uh, Gataway, to match your definitely-at-least-a-slight-success-missle-launch, keep in mind the amount of effort it would take to shoot down five different Scuds.

Gatawan Fleet

Alarms sounded as incoming shells began falling around the fleet and the radar stations lit up at the incoming scuds meanwhile the Gatawan second strike group had taken off and was preparing for an attack

"Admiral we have scud missles in bound."

Jusov turned somewhat suprised at the news..

"Have the frigates deploy their counter measures and lets have our subs hit those silos."

"Aye sir." The communications officer replied

The screening frigates deployed counter measures and the Gatawan subs again surfaced this time firing a salvo at the scud missle silos instead of regular fortifications...moments later there was a loud explosion as one of the frigates burst into flame having taken a direct hit from a scud and had already began to sank..
a few seconds later another explosion was heard another frigate had taken a scud but was still a float heavily damaged
another scud exploded a few hundred meters from one of the cruisers sending shappenel flying into the ship but only minorly damaging it the other two scuds failed to reach their mark.

"Send out some rescue choppers to recover as many as we can from the Gurten..and prepare for incoming air craft. Jusov spoke firmly but still maintained his sense of calmness.

With that two seaking helos lifted off and headed towards the sinking frigate

"Fire another slavo...and have our attack subs launch some torpedos."

With that the sky again filled with a salvo of Gatawan anti-ship missles headed for the Helectican fleet and two of the Gatawan submarines fired a spread of 4 torpedos each.

The strike group with fighter escort got into closer range to ensure better accuracy before firing off their slavo at the Helectican fleet this time half the strike group targeted the Helectican destroyers instead of the carriers. The strike craft turned back with the fighter escorts until reaching Gatawan anti-air missle range where the fighters regrouped and waited to interecpt the incoming Helectican planes.

Jusov looked out and saw the burning wreckage of the destroyed frigate and the other who was limping back towards home no longer combat worthy

Admiral Gregory knew it wouldn't do much good. Around 10 missiles were taken down by the debris, 5 by the anti-air guns, but another 15 made it through, taking a sinking bite out of one of the battleships. To match that, one Scud hit it, blasting its rear end into oblivion. One of the other Scuds smashed into HS Valor amd knocked out the entire control tower and bridge, making it nearly impossible to drive. It slowly, slowly limped away from the harbor.

Meanwhile, the submarines now dispatched came in on the Gatawan fleet, launching their torpedoes at the battleships. The one that had a missle arsenal unloaded onto a carrier, hping their anti-missle systems weren't up to par.

Gatawan fleet

Alarms rang out as the deployment of a sudden missle attack from a submarine Jusov looked on as several missles slammed into the carrier Nadov damaging it but she remained afloat now with a limited flight deck quickly the several anti-sub craft in the area launched a counter assault against the Helectican subs with torpedos and depth charges while two c-14 ships exploded taking torpedo hits another cruiser was hit and suffered minor damages.

"Sir the Nadov has been hit...and we've lost two c-14's." the commuinication officer turned to the Admiral awaiting his orders

"Fire another salvo...everything at their carriers...and radio high command and alert them we may need reinforcments..and have our subs fire another torpedo salvo at them targeting their destroyers..we have to neutralize their fleet before we can begin our land assault."

With that the now familiar roar of missles rang out over the fleet as yet another missle and torpedo salvo was fired at the Helectican fleet the exhaust trails along with the smoke from damaged ships blanketed the fleet like a fog Jusov all the while remained calm and collected despite the carnage around him

Imperial Palace council chambers

Emperor Nadov sat at the head of a long mahogany table lined with senior military officals each dressed in their finest military uniforms...The emperor spoke firmly and his every word demanded the attention of his audience

"Gentlemen...spmething is missing from this empire of ours...something more important than land, resources, military might, we lack respect from the rest of the world...and I believe now is the perfect time for us to achieve gaining a little respect from the international community."

Some of the generals glanced at eachother during the brief pause in the emperor's speech unsure of what he was talking about then immediately turned their attention back towards him when he began to speak..

"As I am sure you are all aware of the Helectican incident..soon the Helectican fleet will be destroyed and our land invasion will begin..but simply defeating a nation such as Helectica in a war will not gain us any respect on the international level...we need something more profound...I believe the small Harakian fleet will serve us just such a purpose."

Some of the Generals expressed a look of shock but remained entirely silent continuing to listen to the emperor's speech

"With the Helectican fleet destroyed and i assure you it will be soon...the Harakian fleet is the only thing challenging our naval supremecy in the area and despite our losses will be easily disspossed of...and the sinking of a Harakian fleet will surely garner international respect for our empire as well as teaching the Harakian's a lesson in turning their noses up towards us in the future."

"So what say you my fine generals..?"

The generals glanced across at eachother before standing and applauding nervously at first to the emperor's decree

"Very well inform Admiral Jusov of his new orders and deploy another carrier group to the Helectican region to relieve the stricken Nadov and send an additional 200,000 troops."

Emperor Nadov turned and walked down a long hallway returning to his private quarters and the room full of generals gradually emptied

The Twilight was surfaced for a bit to allow the sailors to get some air. Although the submarine generated oxygen from the water as it moved beneath the surface, it was stale and seemed out of place, tinned even. Marshall, as a good commander, frequently acceded to his crew's wishes to 'get some air', especially when he had to attend to something on the surface. Even now, as his crew sat on the top of the submarine, its vertical missile launch systems sitting docile, their tops closed, the sailors lay on the deck, and laughed. A small group, though they had no liquor to sing it to, sang a drinking song. The sun was on its way down, it was getting on into evening, and as his crew relaxed and prepared for another lengthy time beneath the surface, Marshall conferred with Sheen and several other high-ranking officers onboard the Hoplite.

Marshall, as the officer in command, had highlighted his concerns - the Gatawans had begun their attack, and so far it was becoming bogged down in Helectican anti-missile defences, although the Gatawans had accounted for a battleship, first sinking slowly and then hastened by a scud missile hit to the rear. The Helecticans had responded with missile strikes to one of the Gatawan fleet carriers, cratering its runway and rendering it at least somewhat useless until the holes could be patched up. A heated battle, now taking to the underseas, was taking place, and the Harakians were simply observing. Observing, and waiting for their new CO, Commodore Xavier Fuego, to arrive on the HNS Carrack.

Still, Marshall couldn't shake an uneasy feeling of dread. Captaining the Twilight for several years, he had grown used to trusting his gut, and his gut told him something was wrong. Once he had finished explaining his take on the situation, he elaborated into orders.

"You all know how I feel. Dave," he said, addressing Captain Sheen. "I want the Hoplite running twenty-four seven CAP over the fleet. Keep twenty-four fighters combat-ready at all times. Run them in eight-plane shifts, keeping eight in the air for four hours before replacing them with another eight, then a third group of eight, so one is always refueling, one is always in the air, and one is always ready to launch. Besides that, keep a few anti-sub planes ready." He turned to the Hoplite's communications officer. "Radio the Royals, tell them to get their helicopters ready for takeoff and their UAVs in the air, all ready for sub-hunting duty, and keep CIWS on full alert. I'm nervous, and I don't want to be responsible for anything. Is the Carrack running CAP yet?"

"As of three hours ago, Fuego has ordered a twelve-plane constant CAP on the three-shift system. Mostly off your instructions," Lieutenant-Commander Jelya of the Swallow replied.

Sheen raised his hand slightly, indicating his turn to speak. "With all due respect, Alexis, just what are you expecting to happen? The Gatawans have all-but said they won't attack us, and the Helecticans have their hands full with the Gatawan fleet. What are you expecting?"

"I'll tell you," Marshall replied, leaving a slight pause as he steepled his fingers in front of him and thought hard. "The Helecticans and their Admiral Gregory have me screwed up a bit. We read three submarines, I wouldn't be surprised if there had been more. They did their best to sneak up on us, and they were in a good firing position to take out the Hoplite with a few choice torpedoes. With active sonar scans it can't happen again, but as a sub commander it makes me nervous. The Helecticans were willing to bring up a very aggressive and belligerent group of submarines very close to our fleet, and kept at least one always in firing position. That, to me at least, suggests that they're not only willing to fire on us, they were prepared for it, and that fact on its own means we should be nervous and ready for combat. Given the Helecticans are holding their own in a fight against a vastly superior fleet, I wouldn't be surprised if they were ballsy enough to launch a strike against us even before they finish up with the Gatawans. I don't expect them to win against the Gatawans, but I wouldn't put it past them to give it their best shot. And that makes me nervous. They die hard and they were ready and able to fire on us not forty-eight hours ago.

"As for the Gatawans, they just creep me out. Sure, Admiral Jusov has been very polite and friendly with us, but I get the feeling he was more than a little pissed when I sent him a curt message telling him to back the fuck off. His aggressiveness on the approach and his actions when he decided to close range and shadow us without even so much as asking first make me nervous, maybe even more than the Helecticans, because they have the firepower to take us out. Whereas we can deploy as many airplanes from one carrier as the Helecticans can from three, the two Nimitzes that the Gatawan fleet is packing could take us out if they tried hard enough, and ruling out any more devastating alternatives from our fleet. Jusov seems all too willing to provoke an incident with us to be altogether a good thing. I'm not letting us near the fleet, and I'm making it clear anything that comes near us will be shot down to the best of our ability. I think I've made that clear to both sides by keeping our distance from the fighting and keeping an almost hostile tone with both sides. The Gatawans, the Helecticans ... they both make me nervous, and I don't like being nervous.

"From now on, gentlemen, I'm giving you permission, on my head, to fire on any vessel, aircraft, or other military vehicle or ordnance approaching our position on an even remotely aggressive trajectory. Once I get back to the Twilight, I'm keeping it submerged from now on. This ... this is why I have CAP over the fleet twenty-four seven, this is why I have the Twilight's Trebuchets permanently ready for launch. This is why-" at this point he turned to Commander Philip Glass, captain of the HNS Hammerhead, the taskforce's missile cruiser. "-I want the Hammerhead to target anything that comes near the fleet with Griffins. Give them one warning at two-fifty kilometres, target them, fire at two hundred."

He sighed. "Gentlemen, I think it might be time to explain to you about just what the Twilight was doing in these waters. Have you ever heard of Operation Silent Night?"

Twenty minutes later, Alexis Marshall was back on the Twilight, and it was slowly sinking below the waves again. The Hoplite upped its CAP to eight planes, the destroyers readied their helicopters and launched ASW and reconnaissance UAVs, as well as CIWS and, in the case of the HNS Hammerhead, Griffin medium range anti-aircraft missiles. The Harakian taskforce was small, but it was dedicated, and it would not be taken by surprise, no matter what happened.

10 UNDs (Underwater Naval Demolitionists), nicknamed Sharks for their ferocity, were emmitted from the HS Bear, shot out in a pressure-powered barrel constructed to do so. They were armed with government-designed full body swimsuits, and on their backs were oxygen tanks and small yet powerful propellers, which were designed to give thrust. But the most bulky object on their backs were two black, encased bombs, both made for the purpose of blowing big holes. For example, they were commonly used for raids on warehouses, in which they'd blow immense holes so soldiers could charge in. Now they were being used for a different reason. The propellers shot them over towards the hole in the screen of battleships, were the now damaged and limping battleship once was. They shot through it, and directly towards the big carrier. It took around five minutes for their propllers at full speed to move them over there, and when they did, they slowled to a halt. They then proceeded to unattach their bombcases. On the cases was an extremely strong adhesive, designed for underwater use. However, in these depths, it would only last three minutes. The group quickly shot away, a line of 20 bomb cases now planted on the hull of the largest carrier. When they were far enough so the extremely heated water wouldn't hit them, they turned ot their wrists, which had strapped to them a red button and a switch. They flipped the switches to arm their bombs, before pausing...

((I'm gonna give you the chance to do something immensley miraculous to save the ship if you want to, as to avoid godmoding. But don't worry, bad stuff is gonna happen back in king's bay...))

KING'S BAY-
A group of missles had slammed ferociously into the HS Gorgon, ripping it literally in half. From Admiral Gregory's view, he could see little specks that were the sailors, diving to their deaths to avoid being burned alive by the raging flame. Right next to that ship was another battleship, the HS Medusa, a sister ship, which had also been hit, and bad. A couple of salvos had slammed into its stern, tearing it clean off. It two had no hope. Rescu Copters had rushed over to save the people that they could, but five of those had also been it,around 100 rescue workers being blow to smithereens.

Admiral Gregory pulled all the stops this time. He wheeled around, snatched up the phone and spoke calmly but anger smoked from his nostrils. "Launch all of our Scuds, and now. Blow their goddamned fleet out of the fucking river.
Aim for the bastards' line of battleships.", he then proceeded to slam down the receiver and turn to an awaiting Captain, who shouted over the raging battle as he spoke;
"Fifty percent of our planes were shot down enroute to their fleet, Admiral SIR!"

William Gregory grit his teeth, and picked up receiver. "I want all jets launched, aim for the transports, I repeat, aim for the transports,"

Above the Gatawan Fleet

Pilot Otto Vick armed his missle. He was one of the ten pilots that had outmaneuvered their onslaught of anti-air. He had watched ten of his friends get shredded. And now he was pissed, he swooped down unto the nearest transport ship, for he had just received the Admiral's transmission. He unloaded two of his missles onto the boat before opening up machinegun fire. The missles, nicknamed Sunshines, were designed for Anti-Transport work, along with the jets, which were actually called ATJ-58s, or Anti-Transport Jet 58s. He glanced to his side and saw his friends, who were also unloading on the various transports. They didn't see him wave, but he didn't care.

As said, it all happened extremely quickly. Red was the first to go down, surviving the grenade but then perished under gunfire as did the rest of his group apart from the guy on the far side of the crate who ducked into cover in the trees. The men in the parachutes, about 10 of them plumetted down and managed to get a few shots in the enemies general directions before hitting the ground with a dull thud, quite a few of them managed to survive by hitting trees, but many of them came out with broken bones. The weapons crate exploded with a big bang. and the soldier who was known as
'4' shouted that they surrender, after recieving a transmission to abort mission.

"CEASE FIRE!" Roared Damon at the first hint of surrender. He then thrust his fist forward to signal that they rush forward. Those who were on the group rush, and the ones in the canopy clambered down the trees. All guns were still raised as to avoid being tricked. When they got over to the soldiers, they threw them to the ground and whipped out constraining wire, which they wrapped around the hands and feet. They also quickly snatched up the guns and piled them in the center. "Jesus..." Damon mutered when he saw the Yepi insignias. This would be one hell of a diplomatic wreck.

Gatawan fleet

Another explosion rang out as one of the troop transports took a hit and exploded violenty and the Gatawan fighters quickly jumped on the Helectican planes while the anti air craft batteries lit the sky up with flack and tracers.
As the radars again showed another scud strike from the remaining scud silos that survived the missle attacks perviously..explosions rang out as two more frigates were destroyed by the scuds and a cruiser took another hit suffering heavy damage rescue crews raced to save as many souls as possible.

"Radio High command and call in for 2nd fleet these Helecticans are a stubborn lot."

"Aye sir right away." The ensign turned and began calling in an encrypted message back to high command

"Have our cruisers fire at their air bases on Lugar Island and the rest of our ships continue to engage their fleet our strike wing should be arriving shortly."

The Gatawan fleet fired yet another salvo of anti-ship missles bound for the Helectican fleet while the cruisers fired their heavy cannons and missles towards Lugar Islands air bases and coastal defences

High above Helectican fleet

Pilot Gustor sat looking through his bomber sight along with the other high level bombers launched from the Nadov before she had been hit.

They had one goal hit as many Helectican ships with their bombs as possible Gustor felt safer knowing they had fighter escort as well..as soon as Helectican ships came into view Gustor flicked a switch and the bombs began to fall..the sky would soon be screaming over the Helectican fleet Gustor's bomber group and their fighter escort turned back towards fleet to re-arm.

Meanwhile at a lower altitude several torpedo bombers and other strike craft flew through the hail storm of anti-air craft fire taking about 50% casualties before coming into range and deploying their torpedos towards the Helectican ships other strike craft launched their harpoon missles and then adopted the Japanese kamakazi as the likely hood of making it home was almost 0 the pilots took aim and pointed their planes directly at the Helectican ships control bridges or flight decks.

Under Admiral Jusov's Carrier

The Shark pressed down on the button on his wrist, and saw the ships hull blown wide, wide open. They turned to leave for the submarine when a whizz of bullets, from an unknown source, probably a misfire from the anti-aircraft guns when the boat blew open, hit 5 of the ten, killing them instantly. They quickly sped away.

King's Bay
A torpedo hit one of the battleships. And then another. And another. Good bye HS Maverick. As chaos rained, the gunners aboard Gregory's ship managed to shoot down the suicide pilots headed towards that ship, but couldn't save the lfight deck of the HS Perseus, which, when a aircraft slammed into its runway, lost 5 of its planes, and 10 men. Also, one of the two runways was disabled, making nearly useless. Finally, a set of bombbs slammed into the HS Gargoyle, and sent it limping away for repairs. Four battleships left, 2 carriers. Tons of planes in the air.

This was not good.

Above the Gatawan Fleet
The fighters continued to swoop down, two being ripped to shreds as they went for their second swoop onto the transports, unloading their sunshines onto the transports, hoping that the bombs designed to blow those things apart would.

And then, reinforcements arrived. 20 more fighters, swooped down, 5 bring shredded in the process, releiving the three left of duty. They again unloaded their RocketBombs unto the transports.

Jusov watched at the Nadov's hull exploded and she began to list to her side the explosions from 2 more transports and rang out the sky full of smoke tracers along with planes dog fighting all the while Jusov remained calm and collected

"Continue firing until their entire fleet is on the sea floor.. everything we've got.."

Jusov looked out over the carnage before him as planes roared off towards the Helectican fleet and missles continued to streak out across the sea bound for their targets the Gatawan cruisers again diverted their attentions towards the Helectican fleet and fired off their big guns inbetween launches of their anti-ship missles

The communications officer turned to the Admiral sweat covering his face
"Admiral High command has recieved our request and has ordered 2nd fleet to the area they're arrival time is unknown for now."

Jusov nodded slowly not really paying attention to the ensign "Very well."

Gatawan planes agains soared over head weaving in and out of the anti air craft fire every so often a plane would be hit and fall towards the sea..again the Helectican ships came into bomber sights and again the bombers let their deadly packages drop other planes left in the strike group were either engaged in a dog fight or were firing off their missles at the Helectican ships before straffing the flight decks with 30mm cannon fire

Message: The Helectican Department of Defense would like to express interest in the idea of forming a temporary cease fire so the fleets of the two nations can deploy rescue workers to save lives. This perhaps could lead to peacetalks, for peace may be the best options for both our nations.

We understand that Gataway has sent a second fleet. We are also in preparation of launching another attack. However, it would be in the interest of both the nations' security that we cease fire so talks can be intiated, along with rescue work.

Recuperation is needed on both sides.

The empire will for now agree upon a temporary ceasefire in order for your base to become resupplied..during this ceasefire the supreme imperial council will convene and determine wether or not to come to peace talks or continue fighting the Gatawan fleet with the exception of damaged vessels will not withdraw and will hold its current position. We do not require the use of your hospital vessle, as we have our own. However any search and rescue craft would be quite useful

Offical Imperial Diplomatic Message to Helectican Defense ministy

The Empire will agree to a ceasefire however as of right now the ceasefire will be only a temporary one until the supreme council convenes tommorow and determines what the next course of action will be. We have grounded all of our attack craft except for CAP planes and are currently conducting search and rescue missions we expect the Helectican fleet to do the same. Also any Helectican planes entering a 40km radius around the Gatawan fleet will be deemed a breach of the ceasefire and our missle barrages will recommence
