The Scandinvan Empire has begun the colonization of the land of that the Valgardian explorers of the Empire, who claimed it centuries ago, call “Erimgea” which basically means plentiful land. Within the centuries since its discovery the land had been discovered it had been only thinly populated with farms and fishing villages that spread due to the bountiful seas and the fertile soils of the land which allowed for them to create vast surpluses to sell back to the Scandinvan home land. As for the natives of the land though only about 50,000 now live due to them dying out due to plagues brought in and also due to a virus that seemed to only effect them that emerged in their lands.

Yet, the land itself was a vast place of 827,567 square miles which was inhabited by 3.05 million people who were scattered out extremely thinly throughout the vast lands of Erimgea. To answer this the Empire has now opened up the colony’s borders to people from the Empire and to non-Scandinvans to colonies, with the latter having to go deal with a background check before entering these lands.

The terms for the land are generous as for a signal person who wants to come to the land will be given 240 acres for themselves, a married couple 465 acres, and a family of six or more 675 acres. As for in the cities the people will be given a lot of 1.5 acres for their own use to either establish a home or business. Despite these lucrative terms only about 25,000 a year came to the country. So, for the time being all foreigners, after a decent background check will be allowed to enter the colony under the same terms as Imperial Scandinvan citizens enjoy.

To note, corporations in whose nation is not allied to the Scandinvan Empire will not be allowed to invest in the colony due to safety reasons for both the Empire and for the colonial citizens.

OOC: Any questions just ask as this thread is pretty dang open. As for large scale immigration it is limited to 15,000 from each country.

Infrastructure:
The government is high varying between settlements as there are literally thousands of small communities that abide mostly by their own laws. With the few sizable communities usually being run by their own elected committees who tend to establish the laws that govern the greater community.

Society:
The society is highly conservative and rural that is focused on a continuation of the traditional communities throughout the country. As well, the general wealth of the communities is quite great due to the huge amount of goods they are able to produce that sell aboard which helps generate the continuous and vibrant, though small, communities of the land.

The overall census shows that the make of the land is 56% Norse, 3% Valgardian, 5% Finnish, 7%, 9% German, 2% Russian, 1% Magyar, 7% British, 4% French, 1% Bulgarian, 3% Polish. 2% Other

Jason Hart and Maria Santiago stepped off a special goverment helicoptor at the airport, the sun was setting on the horizon, a man in military dress attire, an officer, stepped off the chopper beside the couple who watched their luggage being loaded into the back of a black Lincon SUV,

"Captian Hart! good luck, miss Santiago! the same to you...this is good man you got here, take care of him!"

The officer smiled shaking Jason's hand which he gripped firmly,

"Everything's set up for you two Jason, it's been a pleasure"

After a salute between the two....

The officer chuckled then climbed back into the helicoptor, Maria and Jason scurryied away as the blades started back up whiping through the air....slowly the helicoptor lifted off the ground and turned back towards the way it had came from, Osteia,

Maria smiled showing her perfect white teeth then hopped in the passenger side of the SUV, Jason got in the drivers seat and turned the key causing the engine to roar to life,

He continued to laugh and drove away pressing the GPS co-ordinates in the SUV's Onstar system to show them to their new home.......

We are the working type of people, and will utilize this land to the best we can, and my wife and I will be glad, and our youngest son will be staying with us. Thank you. We will establish this area in phases. Phase one will begin with a small settlement with 500 people. We will have infrastructure built in a process leading up to the full 11,000 people residing in New Rome. We will teach students in mostly in English and Latin. We will try to teach the local languages also.
