Smirnov: Good morning - I'm Ivan Smirnov, for the Eurasian Broadcasting Group. In today's edition of Broadcasting House, we interview His Majesty, Emperor Olaf of the Scandinvans. Your Majesty, it's an honour to have you here.

Emperor Olaf:Good day to you Mr. Smirnov and I am pleased to meet you here today.

Smirnov: Your Majesty, your nation is oft viewed as a land of mystery in Eurasia - fabulously wealthy and powerful, but distant. Could you tell us a bit about the Scandinvans?

Emperor Olaf:To simplify the Scandinvan Empire would be to hide the truth of its true glory and the being of the Empire itself. Yet, the best quick analysis would that the Scandinvan Empire is a vast land of many different peoples and cultures. The Empire itself is an entity which dates back for more then five thousand years with my own direct blood line having ruling it since those distant times. The people of the Empire are a proud and kind people who devoted Scandinvan Catholics and are tolerant of the many different religions practiced in the Empire.

As well, the people of the Empire tend to stick to their own communities with them marrying into them, preserving their customs, and languages. To the other side though the different groups of the Empire are united in the general community of the Empire and in their loyalty to the crown and Imperial dynasty. Added there are a great deal of powerful and incredibly wealthy ancient Valgardian houses which often act as rulers of the sub-kingdoms and lands of the Empire.

The society of the Empire though is divided between citizens of the Empire, auxiliary citizens, people who live in their own lands and own elected or different forms of government, and those who are descended from immigrants or are and do not vote in any form until they served the Empire and would thus gain citizenship for their children.

Also, though the wealth levels of people vary the people are all well feed, given shelter, and access to proper medical care.

The wealth of the Empire though is truly vast as we posses massive supplies of precious stones and precious metals which supply for the backing of the Darvian and in the use of them in making works or art and in the creation of glittering jewelry.

As for the power of the Empire we maintain a massive military which is armed with advanced weaponry, well trained, and extremely professional. As well, we are a strong people who are loyal and would die for the glory of the Empire.

With that my quick analysis is ended.

Smirnov: Now, there have been many accusations levied against you that you use your power as Emperor to act tyrannically. Do you have a response to those accusations?

Emperor Olaf: My answer to those accusations is that I use my power to preserve the unity of the Empire and to ensure that peace is preserved for the greater good the people of the Empire. As well, though these people make these charges against me many of the people have themselves shown a sympathy to extremely radical terrorist groups.

Smirnov: Moving off that, what are some of your policies?

Emperor Olaf: My policies are currently to help to keep inflation low, to expand the Empire, keep the unity of the Empire strong, lower unemployment levels to below 1.2 percent, increase the size of our exports, strengthen the Army, preserve the current society, maintain order, provide aide to other monarchies, and to strengthen many other aspects of my realm.

Smirnov: Recently, your nation made race-based holidays illegal, or something to that effect. Could you explain that?

Emperor Olaf: The truth behind that is that it was made illegal for the government to sponsor them , but it is still perfectly legal for the groups to celebrate those holidays both publicly and privately.

Smirnov: Thank you for the clarification. But what prompted that?

Emperor Olaf: What caused me to do that was my desire to end such events as to be part of a race is something you are born into and cannot control. So by doing so I hoped to ease racial tensions. As well, though the Empire has allowed for religious holidays to still be endorsed by the goverment on the local level only which was included in that.

Smirnov: Now that you bring that up, are their alot of said racial tensions in your nation?

Emperor Olaf: There is enough to consitute the implmentation of the previously discussed act.

Smirnov: I see. Something that many of our listeners and viewers would like to know is what your designs for the future of your nation are. Care telling us?

Emperor Olaf: As to that I wish to continue the expansion of the Empire and to continue to expand my nation's role as a global political, economic, and militar power.

Smirnov: Changing gears, the Scandivans is notable for its leadership in the Grand Imperial Alliance. Could you explain what that's about?

Emperor Olaf: As your nation was a member of the alliance briefly I believe you have a basic knowledge of it so I will answer that the mission of the GIA is to preserve monarchies in nations around the world as we believe that poltical change should, in the case of removing a monarchy, should be at least a slow process if it is truly required. As for our leadership of the alliance we currently are the most active member of it and are the ones whou founded it, added we are a great military and political power, which has in a way given us the responsbility of acting as a leader of the GIA.

Smirnov: Well, Eurasia was in the alliance, but please keep in mind, Your Majesty, that we broadcast to hundreds of nations. What compelled you to create it?

Emperor Olaf: What compelled me to create it was to create a strong alliance of monarchies to cooperate with one another in order to preserve their monarchies and to maintian monarchies around the world that rule in the name of the people as benevolent monarchs. As well, added was the recent violent overthrow of a number of monarchies in which the people resorted to sheer barbarism in dealing with their rulers and instead of either electing to get rid of the monarchy or sending the royals into exiles.

Smirnov: Your Majesty, I'm afraid we're rapidly running out of time for this interview. Is there anything you'd like to say before we conclude?

Emperor Olaf: I would like to say that I am rather happy we were able to have this interview and in that I was able to give you my own personal plans and view of my actions.
