A Hunting We Will Go (FT Sign up/OOC)
The Jade Star

A thought occured to me recently.
The NS Universe is a mix of Star Wars/Trek, Warhammer, Babylon Five, and God knows what else, and, admist all the diplomacy, warmaking, various people fighting for King and Country, nobody ever goes off on personal quests for fame/fortune/women (or men)/cool stuff.
So, heres the plot:
The Tolarian Academy starts to sponsor expiditions to recover artifacts of a magical/force sensitive/explosive nature. Basically this is a chance to expose some of the more tech-oriented charecters to the fantastic aspects of the Jade Star system (IE: Where the Academy is located)
Im not one for long sign up sheets, so a simple "Im in, I'll send (so and so) who is (such and such, EX: Supreme Admiral of the Garglenarg Fleet)." will do.
IM also alright with a squad-type approach to this, you can bring along a few guards/mercenaries/professional moth-killers and walking strongrooms along with you to.
Although there will be a small fleet involved, its going to be mostly composed of Tolarian ships. Your people can bring along a personal vessel of some kind, but lets leave the Super Star Destroyers and Battlebarges at home.
In any case, this is not going to involve massive land/air/space battles. I doubt there will be any large bodies of water at all, so naval engagements are unlikely as well. I dont mind if a rival expidition comes along, though. That would certainly liven things up a bit :)
In any case, signups are open, but I'd like to keep this below five people, although I doubt that many will show up anyway.

Before we start, I'm not a V. good roleplayer, and I know little about the equipment.
You have been warned.
If there comes a point where you want to trade me for somebody better, it's cool.
Also, will we each be a member of a team, or each control a group interested in the equipment, or what?

Lol, Il Palazzo's gonna send Excel with a Ball stolen from Gundam and that's about it. They're good for salvage, but they're clunky lil' things.

Plenty of people go on individual glory quests, and are quite willing to leave the armies and fleets behind, bringing to bear characters of such epic proportions as befits such quests. Bit general for someone so new to categorise us all so.

I dont mind, as long as you can spell the basic words and generaly place punctuation is the correct spots, which its obvious that you can.
As to the second part, thats up to you. The initial post will be an advertisement for 'experienced adventurers', which basically means anything from a guy looking to make some cash to a team of mercenaries.
EDIT:
Nice to see ACROSS here :P
Chronosia, I must be refreshing wrong then. That or I just click the wrong topics. Both are perfectly possible :P

Lord Il Palazzo: My country's ruler.
Excel: Chief flunky and crash test dummy.
If you've ever seen Excel Saga, you'd get where I'm coming from. It won't really matter, though.
If you don't know what a Ball is, it's a ball-shaped mech with grapple arms mainly used for repairs and salvage uses. It's a dinky little thing that wouldn't last long in combat.

Sounds like fun! Count me in. I'll consider who to send and get back to you on that.

The Kesshii are many things but, alas, 'generally humanoid' is not one of them. I like the idea, however, and hope to RP with you in the future.

As long as theyre mortal, composed of solid matter (or at least, encased in it), dont blow up star systems at a glance, and capable of communicating somehow I dont really mind :P

In general II, my race hasn't made first contact with another yet, and so can't communicate with others. However, if you're willing, for the purposes of this RP, we can say they've assimilated the necessary DNA to psychically converse with others.

I think this could be interesting and I'm not doing anything aside from watching the superbowl right now, so if it's not too late I'll jump in.

Woot!
Here's my entry.
A scout drone of the Thehenimus Moiety, this creature was part of an exploratory pod of six that was dropped on [The Jade Star Planet] to catalog biomass, the environment, and natural resources. The other five are currently dead, after encountering a [insert a large, dangerous predator here].
The scout's DNA gives it the ability to adapt to harsh environmental conditions, as well as a natural ability to camouflage. The scout can also release a sudden electrical surge through its body, stunning other creatures touching it, and allowing it to escape.
This particular scout is continuing on its mission to catalog and record the planet. Its natural curiosity leading it to interact with the bioforms it meets. Afterwards, it will be ingested by its 'mother' and its memories integrated into the collective knowledge of the Kesshii.
