System Information

Background

Kilani was settled by a group of Pan-Slavic settlers, mostly hailing from Russia, the Ukraine and Poland. Scattered Serbs and other Slavs are also mixed in. The planetary government is ruled by the Council of Three (descendants of the original founders) and the Senate, which is elected in six-year cycles. Its citizens are prosperous and well-off, considering that the government pays and provides food, health care, education and housing. The military is comprised of volounteers and relatively small. However, it serves to protect Kilani (Or Rodina as it is sometimes called) and is suffeciently well-armed to meet virtually any threat.

The Kilani Federation announces it's claim on the Darryl system and immediately sends a task force consisting of two corvette groups, a DesRon squadron, the light cruiser KFS Anastasia and the transport KFS Katyusha, as well as a marine battalion, into the system to see about establishing an outpost on the primary world.

In response to the move by the Kilani Federation, the People's Republic sends a task force to the Ikhareshu system. It consists of 5 Scout Squadrons, 1 Battlecruiser (the ZMS Molniya), two Armored Cruisers(the ZMS Stalin and ZMS Kalinin) and one transport with 1 elite Marine brigade in order to secure the system and to establish an outpost on its main world.

In response to the move by the Kilani Federation, the People's Republic sends a task force to the Ikhareshu system. The Republican forces are allowed through the Darryl system without complaint by the Federation ships, aside from a brief radio transmission saying hello and giving them permission to refuel from the local gas giants.

A scout group arrives in the Mohavi system offering a treaty from the Federation: free passage through the Darryl system, along with permission to refuel at any outposts or bases established there provided the military forces brought through are no prohibitively large. The Federation reserves the right to define "too large".

Using their embassies on New Shiron, a message is sent to the Kilani Federation requesting an exchange of embassies along with Right of Passage for all Kilani and No Taxes vessels traveling through the other nation's systems.
