Several ships in the Pacific Ocean have been raided and one even destroyed by a mysterious metallic sea monster. It lurks beneath the sea as it stalks ships for seamingly after no provocation. Finally, an American liner is attacked and severly damaged. An expedition is launched to search and finally destroy this mysterious force. However, the American warship is attacked and sunk, the survivors discover that it is not a sea monster but a submersive ship. The crew of this ship capture them and take them to the captain. Captain Gerard is a charasmatic and cynical man. The previous captain, Nemo was killed several months prior and Gerard took command of the ship. The Nautilus has been renamed to The Argos. He has no loyalties, no one gives him orders. He fights for no particular reason. Neither greed nor fame drive him to act the way he does, just a hatred for mankind as he unkeashes this brilliant war machine against all who dare to set sail. They sail around the ocean and wreck havoc across all the Argos encounters as they enter in different adventures, playing a deadly cat and mouse game with another American warship as the prisoners aboard struggle to escape.
