British Empire Reborn

OOC: It should be noted that at my current population and economy, the below military is unfeasible. I do not intend to roleplay until I can support an army the size of the British army in 1914 at 2 or 3% enlistement rates. Feel free to review
History
A wandering colony ship from old Earth stumbled upon the Britannia system several millenia ago, finding it inhabited by no sentient life. The crew and passengers settled down, bringing many Terran fauna and flora to the Earth-like world of England and eventually terraforming the other two just barely habitable planets in the system, Scotland and Ireland, into rugged, fully life-supporting worlds. In the coming years, the moons of Wales, Orkney, and Shetland were also terraformed to a lesser extent.
As warfare engulfed the great Human power from which it had sprung, Britannia found itself the victim of numerous successful and successive invasions, despite the tenacious resistance of the locals. First, England and its moon fell to Imperial forces from Earth, which was trying to regain its "rightful" place as ruler of the colonies, rather than first among equals. But these invaders were gradually evacuated, those left behind being largely assimilated, and Britannia was briefly at peace.
Then, power-hungry nomad warlords seeking a world to call their own fell on England and conquered it, with nominal authority on Wales, although little practical power. Scotland and Ireland resisted both waves of attackers, splitting the system into three seperate planetary governments as well as the practically independent Wales, and skirmishes between independent Scots ships and English vessels under their new overlords became commonplace.
The final wave of invaders, an international expedition sent to restore order and maintain peace, but in fact mostly an exericse to increase the personal clout of the senior officers, seized England and Wales. Again, the original colonists on Scotland and Ireland held firm.
Before the international troops could return home, however, a warp storm engulfed the system. It is believed that all planets and moons succesfully rid themselves of demonic invaders at huge cost, knocking society back to pre-industrial levels and severing contact between the planets and moons. Slowly, however, the seperate communities reocovered and advanced. Sharing a common planetary culture with numerous offshoots, the scattered humans on each world began to evolve in distinctly different directions. Englishmen remained similar to normal Terran humans due to their comparitively hospitable, Earthlike world, while the Scots began to develop full body fur (stereotypically red, although his is seldom the case), the Irish metabolism became incredibly powerful to come with the naturally grown foods, tinting their skin green, and the Welsh began to develop very slightly reptilian features.
Eventually, all powers developed radio and learned of one another's existance, and then television, and began using pictorial messages to teach one-another their somewhat similar languages. England eventually sent one-way rockets to the other planets to help them develop such devices themselves. The various international organisation merged and became interplanetary.
War, however, was brewing on England between supporters of democracy and autocracy. A vast conflict engulfed it, with Scots intervening on other side when not distracted by their own world war. Eventually, after several short-lived planetray tyranies, England and Scotland (including their moons) emerged from the strife as democratic, united planetary governments under a constitutional monarch, and in personal union with one-another.
As a bloody campaign of conquest and occupation dragged on and fizzled out in Ireland, early experimental spaceships stumbled on the "Dover gate", a link between Britannia and neighbouring colonies who had experianced similar strife. During a major war with the France system, soon to be her arch-enemy , England, Scotland, and Ireland unified their elected governments and become one nation, Great Britain. It gained a space-station in the Iberia system, whose main planet, Spain, was an ally of France, and a foothold on wartorn Germania.
British and Spanish scientists pioneered FTL propulsion based on the space-folding principle, and as war wracked the Europa cluster and established Britain as dominant in space, survey ships began to probe the galaxy.
Rich pre-space systems like India and Canada are ripe for the taking. Empire awaits an ambitious government.
