I attempted this before but it failed due to impatience and a minor lack of structure...
Here it is again.... :)
This Role play is based on the massacre of the Teotuburger Wald where three Roman legions were crushed in a massive ambush by the Germans. Each player involved is taking part as an escaping Roman battling hunger, the terrian, the weather and his enemy....the survivors have one intention..
GET HOME ALIVE!!
The players who are taking part as Germanic tribesmen that will be hunting the escapee's will stop at nothing to..
KILL ALL THE ROMANS!!
Germanic leader: Arminius, a germanic slave who lived in Rome and was trained in military tactics therefore giving him the advantage in the forest using the Roman's tactics against them.
Roman general: Publius Quinctilius Varus
How the Germans won:
Arminius knew Roman tactics very well and could direct his troops to counter them effectively, using local superior numbers against the spread-out Roman legions. The remaining Romans stood their ground and managed to erect two fortified night camps, but as the rains continued in the ensuing assault they were slaughtered almost to the last man.
The torrential rain prevented them from using their bows (and arrows), rendering them virtually defenceless. The legionaries not killed in the battle were burnt to death in wicker cages.
Varus and his officers who had not died in battle fell on their own blades.
A little bit of history for those who are not familiar with the senario...
As for the structure....
I will allow NO MORE than five players per side...therefore it is even, 1 leader or acting commander who will also lead the NPC's on the side that they are on. The Germans will have the advantage of having three commanders of their five players who will have a number of NPC's on their side acting as their war party/search party.....
There is room for nuetral charactors who would be around in this time...run it by me first...
If there are any questions please feel free to ask at any time...now, i leave it to you to sign up!
Thank you
