Welcome to Trade Wind Inc., a place where you can buy and sell used military equipment. If your nation is in the process of upgrading or downsizing, Trade Winds is the perfect place to make a few bucks selling your old equipment. Alternatively, if your nation is on a tight budget or needs equipment in a hurry, Trade Winds is the ideal place to obtain cheap weaponry in a hurry. As everything listed in our inventory is in stock, delivery times are much shorter than you will find at other military vendors.

Sellers
Should you wish to sell something, simply list what you have and in what quantity. If you are selling an item that does not exist in real life, indicate what storefront it came from or provide a link to the item’s description. Trade Wind Inc. will respond with an offer. A typical offer will include two dollar amounts: cash and store credit. Store credits are redeemable here at Trade Wind as well as Elite Arms (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=516409). Once an offer is made, you need only indicate if our offer is acceptable.

Trade Wind Inc. will only buy items in good condition. Assume anything we buy from you will be thoroughly inspected by qualified individuals before it is purchased. For OOC convenience, do not attempt to sell damaged goods.

Expect prices to fluctuate based on supply and demand.

Buying weapons from Trade Wind Inc. is slightly different that your typical storefront due to the fact that supplies are limited. Each item in our inventory includes the number of units available as well as the price per unit. Do not attempt to buy more of a particular product that we have available. For everyone’s convenience, I will make a post every time the inventory list is updated. Should you decide to buy something, simply find my last post indicating the list was updated, and read any subsequent posts to determine if any other players have bought the items you want.

While Trade Wind Inc. guarantees everything we sell will be in good condition, all the equipment we sell is used. Consider anything we sell to be fully functional with half of its life left. As our used equipment is heavily discounted compared to new equipment, we strongly urge our buyers to role-play the fact our equipment is used. For your convenience, each category of items includes a recommended maximum amount of time you should keep items before removing them from your inventory.

Ægir class Small frigate/patrol craft

History
As Carbandia made itself more and more known in the international community, soon the question of having a fleet was raised.
After due consideration, three different design ideas came up, the first being a small frigate (which this project is), a larger frigate/destroyer, and a submarine.
Unsurprisingly AWW was asked if they could tackle all three, and their reply was that they were going to try.
Starting out with the smallest, and thus, the simplest, of the three projects, they soon started work on the small frigate, which had been given the codename “Ægir”.
As is their usual method, AWW began by looking at designs already available, and see if they could modify the basic design to suit their needs.
Initial design
Having settled on the Russian Gepard as a starting point, they soon stretched the design by several meters, the intent being to 1: replace both the aft missle launcher, and the forward anti sumbarine mortar, with a vls system. This, unsurprisingly neccessitated moving the turret further to the front. Also there was the problem of the newly aquired Lance ASM's (aquired via domestic production licence from Imperial Praetonia) needing more room for their launchers than the SSN-25's they were replacing. Also mooted was the replacement of the current ciws system with the more capable, but space consuming, CADS-1.
The stretching of the design was easily done, as were most of the modifications, but the ciws proved to be a more difficult thing to tackle, , so, instead, the decision was made to keep the original, just update the firecontrol systems.
Systems
A air search, as well as fire control, radars were both a quick and easy choice to make, although the chance was taken to replace the older Russian built systems with more modern, home built, ones. Also added was a vds sonar, as well as a towed, passive, one, as well as full countermeasures, and the most up to date communication gear that AWW could design in house. A long debate on whether or not to mount a over the horizon radar system eventually ended with the decision made not to, as the helicopter the design was going to carry could fulfill that role, and in any case the radome would have been too big for such a small frigate.
Propulsion:
A combined diesel and gas system was retained, although some of the extra size was given for extra fuel capacity, so this ship could go overseas more than the original.
Construction:
The hull itself was made out of high quality steel, reinforced so that it could, if needed, enter artic waters without needing to worry overmuch.
Being divided into 10 compartements internally, the design really was little more than a enlarged, and updated, Gepard, and indeed outward appearances would give this away instantly. However, anyone underestimating this new design because of that was in for a rude surprise.
The chance was also taken to improve the crew quarters. While not as spacios as a capital ship's quarters, they are surprisingly comfortable for a ship of this size, again a display of this being designed to be capable of indipendent, relatively long duration, patrols.

2x 30mm gatling mount (one forward, one aft, as Gepard)
2xdouble (4 total) 533mm torpedo tubes (uses standard Russian torpedoes, and can launch the ssn-16 from them)

one helicopter pad, able to operate 1x Kamov Ka 31, or equalient sized helicopters (no hangar)

surface attack radar (supplying data to the gun mount, and the lance missles)

Note: 76 mm guns have no place in present Duchies ammo supply lines, we would be prepared to revert the guns and their turrets back to Trade Winds for sale as part of the trade agreement.

Raven corps has some outdated Security Units that have no use to us and are becoming more costly to upkeep then is worth our time.
