Twenty-one semi-trailer trucks have exploded in various cities within
The Libertarian Federation of Avisron. Each of the semi-trailer trucks
were parked outside of federal buildings. Eighteen federal buildings
have been completely destroyed, with extensive damage to local businesses,
roads, and infrastructure. Three further explosions severely damaged
federal buildings and structures in the surrounding area.

All non-essential federal employees are advised to remain in their
homes and report to a special hotline tracking the whereabouts and
safety of federal employees.

An LFA government insider has reported the discovery of a further
29 trucks containing C-4 Plastic Explosives, 28 of which were parked on
or near federal sites.

The other truck was parked outside of a busy and popular strip club.
Authorities are uncertain if the strip club was a target or if one of
the terrorists entered the strip club and did not leave before the
attack.

If all the semi-trailers had exploded, 49 federal buildings
and the red light district of the capital city would have suffered
significant damage.

Within moments of the attack, the controversial 24 hour news channel
"The Greebo Matlock Total Truth Network" aired a taped statement
from Elijah Jones.

Prime Minister Stands Strong, Parliament Declares War

[Triesa, Avisron] -- Speaking from an undisclosed, secure location somewhere in Avisron, Prime Minister David Wallace has declared war upon the ProteEvanBapTholic religion.

"Citizens of the Libertarian Federation, we are under attack by all that we oppose in this vast and dangerous world. Our principals of religious freedom and tolerance are under attack, as well as our civilians and way of life itself.

Before I speak on our response to this threat, I would like to clear some things up.The Libertarian Federation of Avisron never, for any reason, sent troops to Cyredel. We offered to, but never moved a single soldier. The forces we offered to move were not to engage in any sort of crusade, but to aid in the domestic security of a weaker nation against forces just like the ones which have attacked us today.

This religion breeds hatred, and now must be stopped. Serving no purpose in this world other than providing a power structure for evil and hateful warmongers, this 'religion' is infact no more than a bloody, violent, and ill-informed cult operating from a failed-nation that has no central government powerful enough to enforce the rule of law.

I would like to reach out to our own citizens. Stay vigilant. Watch for suspicous activity around your neighborhoods and report it. Please, remain calm. Our armed forces will soon reach out and agressively defend this great nation... Our borders are being locked down and travel is being cut off until this threat has ended. The Avisronite military was moving.

Ships of all sizes moved from their supply depots along the coastline of the island nation. These were the ships that had been in port during the attack. What no one could realise was that the majority of the Avisronite Navy was kept offshore in formations that were designed to protect Air Superiority and provide a missile sheild against sneak-attacks by larger nations.

Several of these fleets were combining, forming into a new force, and sailing towards Greebo Matlock.

Meanwhile, 3000 GLI-76 Falcon Multi-Role Fighters launch from secure land bases in the LFA. Armed with an assortment of weapons, this vanguard is headed towards Greebo Matlock with the sole intention of gaining air superiority in one massive wave of strikes. Radar stations, airbases, anti-aircraft stations, and anything else that dares look towards the sky will be beaten into the ground. Realising that the above listed targets are probably close to non-existant in the first place, all the aircraft are given secondary targets consisting of general infrastucture.

Using satellite intelligence gathered in the hours directly after the attacks in Avisron, a force of 50 SB-22 Sariel Advanced Strategic Bombers are dispatched to bomb Greebo Matlock. Carrying swarms of 300 lb. bombs, this mission is designed to destroy the crop fields and food/water supply of the Greebo Matlockian economy.

Around the coastline of Avisron, military observation posts are put into position at pre-designated posts to stop further infiltrations. Landmines are placed on the beaches in certain coves. Air travel into the nation is completely halted, and foreign nationals are put under secret survailance. LKA-07 Air Superiority Fighters are put on patrol over the nation to gun down any aircraft attempting to breach the no-fly zone.

Bombers and carpet bombed our nation with 300 lb. bombs.

These bombs destroyed crop fields, storage warehouses, and an orphange.

The Greebo Matlockian economy stands badly hurt, but even more distressing
are the innocent citizens of our nation that are homeless and hungry tonight.


All of these actions were taken by Avisron WITHOUT consulting our peaceful
and democratic society. The government of Avisron has offered no proof that
terrorists are operating or living within the borders of Greebo Matlock.

A tape was played on a pirate, unlicensed, off-shore television network,
but this tape does not constitute evidence that the terrorist depicted
therein is in anyway affiliated with or active within our great nation.

The nation of Avisron DID NOT contact our government to investigate the
possibility of terrorists within our borders. They did not ask for our
co-operation in the hunt and capture of any suspects.

Instead the government of Avisron blatantly, and without any decency,
or respect for our sovereign borders, attacked and destroyed civilian and
scientific targets. Without warning or formal declaration of hostility.

Avisron has been a victim of terrorism, but that does not allow them to
exact horrific terrorism on any innocent nation of their choosing.

Greebo Matlock's Government and people were not a threat to the nation of
Avisron.

We humbly ask the other nations of the world, in the united nations and
otherwise, to condemn the heavy handed, brutal, and sadistic actions of
Avisron. Taking sanctions or other actions as deemed appropriate.

We humbly beg the international community for food, medical aid, and
monetary assistance - to rebuild our shattered nation.

We demand that Avisron immediately surrender, cease all military action,
and pay full and total reparations for their atrocities against the good
and noble people of our fine democracy.


The people of Greebo Matlock may be wounded on this day, but as always
we shall recover and overcome, stronger and more united for our suffering.

In regard to the recent attacks upon the nation of Greebo Matlock by the armed forces of the Libertarian Federation of Avisron, we must state that we feel there has been a misunderstanding of the intentions of the massive retaliation from the LFA.

The government of Greebo Matlock is very weak and does not have the ability to maintain rule of law. We present to you as evidence satellite intelligence of terrorist training camps which the Greebo Matlockian government has never attempted to shut down. [*Attachments]

At this time we present a very simple resolution to the 'government' of Greebo Matlock.

If you cooperate with the LFA and allow the terrorists within your nation to be routed out, we will repay you in full for the destruction your weakness has allowed.

We also implore the international community to remain calm in this matter and refrain from escalating this sudden outbreak of violence. The LFA has a very clear set of objectives in sight, and we do not need international meddling.

While a powerplay of internationally broadcast hardball was taking place on CSHR News and in various newspapers, order was beginning to be restored in the areas hit by the terrorist bombs.

Thankfully for the government, the day of the attacks had been near the end of the weekly work cycle, meaning two things. One, there were less people in the destroyed buildings; and Two, the people there were generally less than the cream of the federal crop of workers.

Further, because of security measures, the trucks were never allowed to get directly near the buildings on several occasions, and on other occasions were directly engaged by on-site security officers before exploding prematurely. Overall, the attacks were very weak for their scale.

Images of burning buildings on television screens are quickly replaced by benefit concerts by grunge bands. While the nation is obviously traumatised, measures had already been taken to get the nation on the road to healing.

At the same time, the severely scarred government could not forget that there could possibly be more terrorists hiding and waiting for a chance at a second attack. Due to the LFA's policies regarding a National ID Card, mainly, requiring them to even be in the nation, it was easy to identify every foreign national who had tranferred in from Greebo Matlock. All of these people were approached within 48 hours of the attacks. While the government didn't have the rights to force these people into prison, they did have to right to use Implied Consent in Regards to the Situation to move every single foreign national to federally rented housing complexes for the time being.

As soon as the bodies, some 179 of them, were removed from the wreckage, capitalism was allowed to prosper. Small companies were given contracts to remove the wreckage, and small design firms were hired to design the replacement buildings, which would definately give the government an excuse for reinforced infrastructure.

In a massive wave of patriotism, recruitment goals for all branches of the military are not only met, but far exceeded, to the point that reserve bases have to be opened up to begin training the wave of new talent flooding into the armed forces.

Military bases are kept on high alert out of fear that a rogue nation will attempt to make friends with Greebo Matlock and open fire on the LFA; an act that would now be very unwise given the nations new security measures and levels of military alertness.

Members of the international community, the nation and people of Greebo
Matlock are shocked and appalled at the forceful, militaristic demands
of the government of Avisron; both in their details and the demeaning
and insulting ways in which they were presented.

Avisron delivered a surprise "shock and awe" attack, which destroyed
the very infrastructure and economy which we COULD have used to aid
in the fight against international terrorism.

By destroying our airbases, they have severely limited our ability to
conduct aerial survelliance of international waters surrounding our
nation.

By demolishing our crop storage and crop fields they have made it difficult
to feed both our military and civilian populations.

What greater aid to the terrorist threat could the government of Avisron
have provided???

By attacking our national armed forces they have reduced our ability to
to tackle terrorism and have INCREASED the likelihood of terrorists
coming into our borders.

And NOW the government of Avisron wants to be rewarded for their hasty
and destructful actions. They want the populace they have wounded to
give them access to our nation, so that they can no doubt carry out
further atrocities.

We will not allow Avisron or it's allies to move ground forces into our
nation or to conduct any military operations WITHIN our sovereign borders.

As a member of the United Nations, we suggest that a committee of inspectors be formed. We deseperately need these UN inspectors to -

1) Assess and record the civilian damage caused by the Avisron attacks

2) Assess and record the damage suffered by our military installations

3) Inspect and identify any potential terrorist encampments and cells
so that the individuals involved can be brought to justice

We require UN Inspectors because we need their impartial eye and account
of the state of the damage caused by the unprovoked attacks against
our nation. To help protect the rights and freedoms of those who are
SUSPECTS, not proven in any court of law. Due to the previous brutal
actions taken against us, we fear that Avisron would simply summarily
execute or violate the human rights of ANYONE and EVERYONE they ASSUMED
to be connected with terrorist activity. Their previous behavior has
shown this on a massive scale.

We promise to co-operate fully with the UN Inspectors and give them
full and unrestricted access to our nation and it's facilities.

All reports will be made available to Avisron and the international community at large.

In a time of terror and fear, it is important that the governments that

When he had gone to bed the LFA was preparing to obliterate what was left of Greebo Matlock. First Object of Discussion: Connection between the attacks in Avisron and Greebo Matlock

It has been said by those in the Greebo Matlock government that there is no substantial proof of any connection between that country and the attacks which took place in Avisron, minus the videotape of the terrorist group claiming responsibility.

The first item used to debunk this claim of non-responsibility is the simple fact that many in the international community have known of the lawlessness of the Greebo Matlockian countryside and the openness to terrorism resulting from that.

The second item is, surprisingly, a single word. Why? Why would the LFA or anyone else wish to incur damage to Greebo Matlock? The LFA has never before had relations with the nation of Greebo Matlock. Futher, the Greebo Matlockian government itself has called the nation "a small chain of islands with little or no strategic significance." Why would ANYONE wish to blame Greebo Matlock?

Second Object of Discussion: Avisronite Declaration of War

In a recent correspondence from the Greebo Matlockian government, it was implied that the LFA has declared war on the nation of Greebo Matlock, was preparing a massive invasion force, and was hellbent on colonising said nation in a matter of weeks.

However, the fact of the matter is that the Libertarian Federation of Avisron has yet to declare war on any nation. The confusion seems to be stemming from a CSHR News article with the line "[...]Parliament Declares War" in the headline.

For clarification, the LFA has declared war only on the fundamentalist terrorists and the cult by which they grow their army. The nation of Greebo Matlock has not been and will not be targeted for invasion or continued war unless said nation or its allies pose a severe threat to the LFA.

In closure, we hope this short article has helped to spread the light of information across the offices of the very powerful men who need to be informed.

Military intelligence was always a very important asset for politicians to have when accusing each other of crimes against humanity. In the modern age of satellite survailance this was more important than ever.

The LFA had long believed in being years ahead of other nations in terms of space technology and while they had never been able to actually use any of these expensive gadgets in an actual combat situation, they had always kept the Military Space Agency fully funded and operational.

High, very high, above Greebo Matlock was one of the AMSA's few Very High Earth Orbit satellites. This unit was designed to subtly spy on other satellites, not the ground.

And there it sat, quietly picking up the times of day that foreign intelligence [and non-intelligence] satellites passed over Greebo Matlock. It was like a reclusive teenager at a mall watching the pretty girls walk by from an upper-level department store.

The information was passed on to a secure AMSA computer server somewhere in Avisron.

It is unfortunate that you will not accept our aid. The assistance sent to Avisron will only be sufficient to assist in housing and feeding those who have been displaced by this tradgedy. We beg you to reconsider not accepting our aid as your people have great need of it.

BREAKING NEWS

The main military port in the nation of Avisron has been completely
decimated. At 700 hours Zulu time a fierce explosion ripped through
the port, severely damaging and destroying major naval assets.
The military port was at capacity due to recent military reinforcements
and increased military movements within Avisron.

Military analysts were rushed to the scene and surmise that at least one
cruise missile struck the facility. Their calculations and physical
evidence on scene at the disaster suggest that the missile was equipped
with a 500 kilo-ton fission-fusion thermonuclear warhead.

The most likely candidate weapon based on the physical evidence is a
P-700 (SS-N-19) long-range anti-ship cruise missile. If this is correct
than the missile was launched somewhere within 600 kilometres of the port.

After the initial burst from the missile, the heat radiated from the
fireball ignited several combustibles present at the port and caused
widespread fires and firestorms of great magnitude. Exposed materials
from blast damage also served as available fuel for the out of control
fires.

The blast was visible from hundreds of miles and was described by
observers as being much more intense that the light from the sun at
high noon.

Effects from residual radiation are not yet known.

The people of Greebo Matlock are shocked and appalled to learn of
the latest attack upon Avisron. Against the advisement of my own
people and several senior officials in my government, we humbly
offer aid and materials to restore the military port destroyed
and offer medical assistance to those harmed, or likely to become
harmed by, exposure to radiation.

We also would like to pass on to the International Community
the following communication our government, and the government
of Avisron, received from Elijah Jones, via international mail.

We are not a terrorist nation. We are just a nation with a very free press.
So obviously when the 24 hour news network got a hot scoop of a terrorist tape they decided to play it.
The news broadcast from the station claim to be completely uncensored,
and I think this fits with the general ethos people in our nation have that
to censor something is to insult the intelligence and moral fibre of the viewer.
Why shouldn't they know the full and unabridged truth of what happens in major international incidents?

Avisron completely jumped the gun and brutally attacked our nation.
I don't want to pretend that I can read the mind of the Avisron government,

1) One battleship totalled near the port
Considerable damage to the port
Random explosions along the coast line with no real impact - just

Avisron Under Attack!

Earlier this morning the coastal port of Krieta was struck by anti-shipping missiles from an unknown source.

The massive Avisronite anti-missile system was caught ineffective by a rash of bad weather, which is now moving out of the region, allowing Avisron to rule the skies again.

"We lost a battleship and some port facilities," a LFA Navy Public Relations Officer said this morning. "The damage is extensive, but thanks to the strategic decentralisation of our infrastructure itself, the overall effect is minimal, at least less than it would be had we been relying on a single, large port."

Questions will remain, however. Where did these missiles come from? Initial reports are that the missiles were all of extreme range, which could make tracking them very difficult, officials said.

The Avisronite Military Intelligence Agency is investigating the wreckage of the missiles around the port to attempt to place a country of origin.

LFA Government Finds More Evidence of Greebo Matlockian Involvement!

Within the last half hour the Avisronite government has released footage of what it calls sympathetic actions within the Greebo Matlockian civilian population.

"We found this in the email account of one of the suicide attackers," a government official said. "What you see here are radical terrorist supporters in the Greebo Matlockian homeland celebrating the attacks on the LFA."

This is the first real airing by the government in their investigation of the suicide attacks. In a statement from his undisclosed location, Prime Minister David Wallace had this to say.

"Everyone knows that these idiots operate in Greebo Matlock. First we have a video played claiming responsibility, then we find this. I don't know what more proof we need. The Greebo Matlockian government loses more and more credibility each time they come out saying there's no credible proof. We've given it to them and they simply reject it. Until they can come to terms with the situation they have in their countryside, we're not negotiating."

The Avisronite Navy was going to retaliate against someone for the loss of its brand new battleship. It wasn't everyday that a ship was blown up in port by a terrorist organization. And while the LFA could not produce proof that the attack had been terrorist related, no one else would pick that exact time to lob a missile at Avisron.

So, a response had been put into place. Just like Avisron could not produce hard evidence that Greebo Matlock-based terrorists had destroyed its battleship, Greebo Matlock would not be able to produce proof that Avisron had attacked one of its fleets.

With that thought in mind, the Commanding Officers of 12 Sultan Class SSN's gave the order to fire 6 cruise missiles each, for a total of 72 missiles. All were targeted into what appeared to be the largest military port installation in Greebo Matlock.

Given the unlikelyhood of Greebo Matlock producing 72 battleships all in the same port at the same time, thought had been made in the targeting of the missiles. The missiles were programmed to hit the largest ships. Any battleships or aircraft carriers would first be hit near the waterline, then any cruisers would be hit, and on down the line. Because the missiles were so large, only one missile per ship was planned, so a total of 72 ships could be hit. If it turned out that there were 72 ships in the port, installations themselves would be targeted.

Greebo Matlock communication to Avisron and Global Community

Greebo Matlock and it's people have suffered another appalling tradegy.
Less than a day after the complete destruction of Avisron's port by
unknown entities, it would appear that the same style of attack at
a very similar target, Freedom Port 1, has occurred.

Obviously the terrorists either have a highly mobile, or multiple,
missile launching platforms.

Greebo Matlock openly and decisively rejected Elijah Jones' demands
and he has obviously made his displeasure with our decision known.

To the people and government of Avisron, we want to join forces with
your considerable might for the purpose of tracking down and destroying
these individuals.

We reviewed your accounts of the attack and if you are correct on
the missiles used against your port, than that places a terrorist
launch point within 600km of your port. Either currently or in
the past. As you know Greebo Matlock is thousands of kilometers
away, so this places the attack point well outside our borders.

ALSO the missiles which brutally destroyed Freedom Port 1 were
obviously fired from international waters.

Greebo Matlock would also like to take this opportunity to thank our
allies for their continuing support and to urge them to increase
patrols searching for missile launching platforms that could endanger
their major ports and key coastal interests.

The terrorists evidently have a large number of cruise missiles and
a reliable way to deliver them.

We hope we can co-operate peacefully with Avisron to restore the
ports of both our nations and now work together as a team, to hunt
these terrorists in international waters.

Greebo Matlock is now and always will be a firm ally in the war on

The skiff slid silently through the cold, black waters of the bay. the men it held were silent, their faces masked with black cloth, their hands coated with black cam-paint, their weapons similarly coated to remove all shine.

Twice they had been forced to slide into the water and deflate the craft, praying that the oilskins that held their weapons would not leak, as patrol boats skimmed past.
The leader of the unit smiled.
'Such fools these westerners, to make so much noise with engined vessels when you are looking for insurgents that could come at any time!'

The craft was now reaching it's destination; the beach just a mile or so from their present location.
Even from here, with the use of his field-glasses, the leader could see patches of disturbed earth that told him the beach had been mined.
knowing that the waters around the bay would almost certainly be similarly booby-trapped he gave the order to slash the boat and let it fall.
The squad continued to the beach in two man teams, one swimming, the other on his back, using night sights to scan the surrounding water for submerged mines.

Once they reached the shallows, the men looked to their commander for guidance. He gestured to the right, pointing up the cliff face where a wan glow could be seen.
Moving like cats, three of the team detatched themselves and began scaling the cliff-face.

There was a strangled sound from above them, and two thuds as heavy objects landed on the wet sand.
The three men re-joined the unit, and recieved stern remonstration for their method of disposing of the bodies.

The detatchment shouldered their kit-bags and melted into the countryside of Avisron.

--Coastline of Avisron--

Given that massive efforts to prevent just that type of infiltration had already been undertaken, it should have been no surprise that just under half an hour after the squad passed through, their tracks and other signs had along the cliff had been discovered by an Avisronite patrol group. Quickly the alert level of the whole area was raised. Helicopters dropped 30 soldiers off near the beach to follow the tracks inland.

Guard stations all over the area were put on alert.

Given that the infiltrated area barely had a civilian populace, using Unmanned Arial Recon Vehicles became much easier. Thermal scanners on these planes would lock in on any source of heat from the humans and alert helicopter gunships and ground forces to the presence of the intruders.

A ring of Avisronite Military Police was formed, basically trapping the intruders between heavily armed soldiers and the shore. It was expected they would be discovered within two hours, due to the quick reaction of the sentries.

What would the intruders do while being followed by an overwhelming force and with an overwhelming force surrounding them?

[OOC: If you're going to attack Avisron you WILL have to be created. The nation is LOCKED DOWN. It's an organised survivialist state, basically, so just walking through the coastline during NORMAL conditions would probably get you shot at. I honestly don't know how your little group of intruders will survive with this overwhelming force on them. Also, I'd like it if you RP'd some of your attacks in a bit more detail. Right now these people probably wouldn't even make it to the coastline, but it's okay for this post. We can go from here.]

If they truly wanted to end this growing sense of anger between our two nations, they would simply agree to allowing a small force of Avisronite troops to enter their nation to hunt down and arrest the terrorists which are hurting both our nations. As they have said, Greebo Matlock is not a strategic nation, so Avisron would have no need to occupy it longer than necessary - yet we are still not allowed to enter and hunt these fanatical scum.

We feel this is to the detriment of both our nations, which we do not appreciate.

The unit had marched for three hours before they decided to come to a halt at the edge of a nearby cove, similar to the one they had entered at. The light levels were still low, but the sun would rise in an hour or so.

A small box was withdrawn from an oilskin and placed on the ground. A scream of white-noise and static sent birds whirlign from the trees surrounding the unit as the device was activated, and other smaller devices were linked around it, buried in the earth surrounding the object.

The Captian jerked his thumb behind him inland, towards the distant thrum of vehicle engines that were drawing closer.

The unit moved swiftly to the shoreline, and there encountered another small border patrol.
"Cooper, Donnally, you know what to do, the rest of you, get ready to move."
The first guard was standing outside the bunker, smoking a surruptitious ciggarette when a dart struck him under the chin. he slumped sideways. the two black-clad figures approached the door, and one checked the pulse of the guard.

using practised care, one figure manouvered hmself to the front of the bunker, hanging by his fingers from the lip of the gun-port. He withdrew a small cylinder from his waist-pouch and waited.
A knock sounded from the other side.
"Goddam Lowry, i bet he locked himself out again, i'll go."

The arm whirled up and over, and the cylinder clattered into the room. A flare of light burst inside, and the heat from the blast broke Cooper's hold on the bunker. he slid down into oblivion far below the bunker.
Donally, unaware of his comrade's fate, burst into the room to find three more guardsmen in various stages of unconsciousness. the flashbang had done it's work.
He re-joined the rest of the unit, who had seen Cooper's plunge and releived the body of any equipement.
scuba gear and breathing appuratus was produced from each man's pack and, picking their way carefully but quickly down the beach, they immersed themselves in the sea. behind them, last they saw of Aviron was headlights pulling to a stop half a mile away on the shore, and helicopters hovering over the body of Cooper.
then they melted back into the sea.

The intruders had made a fatal mistake. By entering the icy cold waters, they made their heat signatures stand out to the UAV's for miles around. At the point they were picked up by one of the UAV's, the nearest ACGA [Avisronite Coast Guard Agency] Helicopter Air Station was ordered to launch a single GYT-09 Multi-Purpose helicopter.

The GYT-09 Helicopter appeared over the retreating intruders while they were swimming away. Flying overhead, the helicopter fired directly in front of the enemy with its 50 caliber machine gun. This was a warning shot. It was obvious the helicopter was ordering their surrender.

The only way Avisron will work with Greebo Matlock is if they agree to the resolution we sent them earlier. At this time we have exposed our counterparts in the Greebo Matlockian government as unorganised frauds, and we cannot trust that they will honestly help us in this war on terrorism.
If they truly wanted to end this growing sense of anger between our two nations, they would simply agree to allowing a small force of Avisronite troops to enter their nation to hunt down and arrest the terrorists which are hurting both our nations.

The government of Avisron must be under the assumption that the leadership
of Greebo Matlock are suicidal fools.

First, our national defensive capabilities were devastated by an unannounced
airstrike. The innocent people of our armed services suffered greatly at
your hands. Our citizens demanded a brutal and decisive retribution for
the cruel and unprovoked violence waged against them.

But our government took the controversial decision to focus on defense
and re-building. To not escalate a situation which would be difficult
if not impossible for us to win on our own, against a much more powerful
aggessor.

The international community surprised us with it's show of kindness and
their support has helped immensely on our path to healing.

And we suffered an even more brutal terrorist attack than yourself,
for every 1 cruise missile that struck your nation 6 struck ours.

Still, you can not agree to work together peacefully, to embrace the
same ethics of peace and co-operation that have defined Greebo Matlock
as a nation and always will.

Instead you wish to use our weakened state, created by yourself,
as an excuse to occupy us.

I am certain that the entire international community can see past this
obvious ploy.

You are using these terrorist attacks as an excuse for demands to forcefully
enter our nation. To violate our sovereign and god-given rights. We
are a proud people who only wish to carry out a free and democratic
existence, led not by warmongering imperialism but by the desires and
needs of the citizens who make up this great nation.

Greebo Matlock can not, and will not, submit to occupation by a force
which has attacked it and attempted to demolish it's ability to defend
itself. How ridiculous to think we would welcome you with open arms
into our borders when all you have given us is death and hardship.

As they have said, Greebo Matlock is not a strategic nation, so Avisron would have no need to occupy it longer than necessary - yet we are still not allowed to enter and hunt these fanatical scum.

As far as we are aware we are not a strategic nation, but again we are

Perhaps your government wishes to keep some of it's actions a guarded
secret from it's citizens?

Perhaps you hope that the remoteness of our nation would keep
the atrocities against our peaceful citizens a quiet and dirty little

We have many great allies who will put an end to the threat of
Avisron, IF you pursue your plans to occupy Greebo Matlock under the
guise of seeking out justice.

We have offered assistance and help to your people.
But apparently you would rather they die than let them discover your
heinous actions against innocent people.

Would you at least be willing to negotiate to a point of mutual agreement? You have not tried to negotiate to find a favorable position as of yet, and thus, the LFA will take pleasure in being able to say it was the first nation to give in to the other in the name of forward progress.

We would be willing to allow your forces to go after the terrorist infrastructure in your nation, but we want Avisronite observers embedded in order to ensure the true intentions of your military. We feel this is a highly reasonable request, and we would be willing to allow Greebo Matlockian observers to watch over the Avisronite police actions, if that would make you happy.

Further, we would like to open up the possibility of sharing intelligence on this new situation.

*The helicopter was almost directly overhead, the bullets had sent plumes of water into the air directly in front of the unit.
"What now boss? the orders were clear, minimise casualties, cause no deaths, how the hell do we incapacitate THAT thing?"
The captain snarled into his comm-unit to silence the murmer of agreement from the rest of the soldiers.
"SILENCE! We will NOT cause our nation to be attacked because of your cowardice. The orders were no fatalities and we have caused none, there is only one option. night goggles wouldn't have picked us up against the surf, and it's still too dark for them to have spotted us unaided, it's got to be thermal imaging, so do what you're bloody trained for."
As he spoke he ripped the top from a small canister, and a thick, black substance diffused intot he water around him. the others did the same. the helicopter crew were repeating their orders for the unit to surrender, and the captain signalled with his arms and slung his weapon over his shoulder as the unit finished the task.
Then, with no prior warning, the whole unit dived below the waves.
Seconds later a flare launched itself from the sea.
As it burst from the waves it ignited the liquid that had now settled itself above the surf.
As they swam ever deeper and deeper, the brother-captain activated his comm-unit once more
"Remember brothers, there is always a way. let them find a man's heat signature below an inferno. You all have spare air tanks?"
A chorus of assent.
"Then we send up a few more vials on time release, should cover about half a mile square. Set them to go off on the Western edge of the slick. Then we can make our own escape while they chase the wild goose."
Above them, bulletts whipped into the flames and water as the fire continued to burn.

--Area Near Intruders--

Because of the situation in Avisron surrounding the terrorist attacks, the ACGA was taking nothing for granted in its attempt to capture the intruders. The moment the intruders had been detected, the ACGA began moving a Rodgers Class Corvette to the area. Because of the Rodgers' ability to reach speeds of 50 knots, one was on station shortly after the Helicopter arrived.

As the water burned, the Rodgers Class Corvette used its advanced sonar systems to again locate the divers. The ship was passive, though. Even though the sonar was powerful enough to see through any type of man-portable distortion device, the ship was going to wait a few moments before engaging the divers. The intruders weren't going to get away from THIS one.

The ship simply waits for the divers to make their next move.

*what is seen by the Radar scanner abaord the Corvette.
(ooc: not sure whther even an advanced radar would be able to pick up a human, as humans are "squishy" and unlike the submersable vessels it is designed to detect, have low density but we'll run with it.)

The reading that had been verified as the group of rogue divers exploded in a series of contacts. most spiralled out in all directions, mainly heading for the open sea. three detatched from the main group and spearheaded for the vesel herself.
Several more, much larger contacts appeared to fade in and out of the radar, ranging from small one-man submersible sized readings to several contacts that appeared to be of significant and immimantly dangerous size.
the operatr awaited further orders as the squeel of the radar increased further, he removed his head-phones as the pitch increased, and blood trickled from one of his ears.
(does happen to radar operators under certain conditons which will be explained soon.)

--The Intruder Situation--

The Corvette switches to its undersea, high-definition cameras, and continues to watch/follow the intruders that way. However, now it goes on the offensive. Using its high-definition cameras makes seeing through the SONAR distortion much easier, so now it begins firing off high-intensity soundwaves at anything it suspects to be a diver. The soundwaves will act as something like an undersea flashbang, overwhelming the divers and causing them to fall unconcious, which makes it easy for Avisronite divers to capture them.

The camera's see nothing but thick, black ink. the three objects closing with the ship are not phased by the soundwaves, and of the other readings none seem to be affected by the method of assualt. Each blip continues to move at a steady rate outwards and away from the Avisron border.
Larger blips closing with what are assumed to be the divers have also been detected just beyond Avisron waters, a mile or so away from the diver's current location.
The readings suggest A Cruiser class vessel with several destroyers and smaller frigates. They do not appear to have any intention of entering Avisron waters, but merely fire up their engines as the readings continue to close on their position.

[OOC: Uhm... excuse me? Where did a FLEET come from? What are those "objects?" All you have mentioned having in the area are the divers. This RP isn't going to work if you just have fleets and other hardware appear out of nowhere. I let the fact that those divers basically ignored several massive fleets and walked up to the Avisronite mainland slip. But I won't let you just writing hardware into existance work.]

As you may have noted i've gone out of my way not to shoot down, kill or destroy any of your personnel and equipment: plus the radar would have been unable to detect human objects, but i neglected to ignore that fact, as well as the fact that thermo-imaging would find it almost impossible to detect human-heat signatures if said divers were evena few feet below sea level.)

Nevermind the fact that they'll probably have strokes and die from the strain, there's no way they could carry enough of that concealment stuff on them to stay hidden from UAV's and Corvettes for that long.]

The Rodgers Class Corvette, now feeling threatened, opens fire upon everything appearing on its SONAR screen. Every blip is fired upon by 127 mm. high explosive shells, including the divers.

After picking up the fleet in international waters and suspecting it to be somehow involved in the attempted breach of security, a fleet of 17 Illum Class Destroyers, 1 Kristik Class Battleship, 11 Grospek Class Heavy Guided Battlecruisers, and 20 Illusion Class Stealth Destroyers begin to move towards the fleet. No hostile moves are made, they simply position themselves between Avisronite territorial waters and the fleet.

King Arma of Zanski has announced that it will declare war on Avisron unless it withdraws all troops at the borders of or inside Greebo Matlock and ceases its war on that faith with the really long name.

The Royal 1st division is on amber alert. If Avisron continues, we will move in and occupy at least one third of Avisron. Is that OK?

Military Stops Foreign Infiltration!

Agent of an unknown foreign power have attempted to breach the security of Avisron, government officials said in a regularly scheduled press conference today.

"One of our coastal patrols discovered signs of unauthorised activity alone a barren stretch of coastline. Upon further investigation, it was determined that several of our guards were disabled, and that the intruders had sinister intentions. Our forces that were following from the coastline discovered a box that temporary disabled communications, then an Unmanned Air Vehicle discovered the intruders retreating back out to sea. At that point they were engaged by a coastal Corvette and believed killed, but we cannot be sure."

More information will be made available at later dates, the government said. They also reassured us that this should prove just how strong the territorial integrity of Avisron really is.

The request is interesting but we need to reach an agreement on who
we are trying to locate and define what a terrorist is.

Your government has declared war on a religious faith. We can not
morally co-operate and participate in acts of theological genocide.
To do so would be to betray the core values of our society.

Your "war on the ProteEvanBapTholic religion" as you have declared
puts many women and children in our nation at risk. It places elderly
veterans at risk. It places some of our most qualified doctors and
several humanitarian charities at risk.

You may want to paint this faith as a bogey man for propaganda purposes,
but even though we have suffered the wrath of terrorism, we are unwilling
to take that easy path.

For our purposes a terrorist is a member of any organization who
carries out or incites paramilitary violence.

We will admit that in their emotional turmoil, some of our citizens
did rejoice when Avisron's port was attacked - but this was directly
due to the air strike against us and the deaths of innocent military
and civilian citizens, and children. This alone will not be seen
as evidence of terrorist actions or terrorist leanings, as a wide
cross section of society - faith, age, ecomonic situation -
unfortunately were caught up in these extreme emotions.

All cases will be handled on an individual basis, and consider
all facts in evidence. Fair and full legal protections will be
retained, and a full unabridged legal progress will be upheld.
No summary sentences will be carried out under any circumstances.

Extradition will be evaluated on a case by case basis only for
those proven to have directly been involved with acts against
Avisron, it's property and citizens. All other suspects will
face trial with Greebo Matlock.

Since the attack on our port our government has been in close
contact with peaceful leaders of the ProteEvanBapTholic faith.
For our own, and global stability, we will co-operate with
legitimate leaders of the ProteEvanBapTholic faith to assure
that we benefit from their knowledge and that peaceful followers

Never once did the LFA state that its War on ProteEvanBapTholicism involved the complete destruction of every follower of that religion. That course of action would be unpractical, hypocritical, and infact, nearly impossible - at least within conventional means. The Prime Ministers' initial response to the terrorist attacks called for "stopping" the religion; this is probably the statement from which you are drawing the idea that the LFA somehow plans to destroy every follower of the ProteEvanBapTholic religion.

The LFA still wants to stop certain aspects of the ProteEvanBapTholic religion, too. We want to stop the internal groups within the community which breed hatred. With that said, we'd much rather destroy the terrorist groups that give ProteEvanBapTholicism its bad name than commit mass genocide and inspire worldwide hatred of the LFA - an act which some in this nation have indeed asked for, by the way. You have spoken of pressure on you for retribution on Avisron. The Prime Minister has intense pressure on him to expel the nations entire nuclear stockpile onto Greebo Matlock and then declare victory.

We would also like to point out that we are not trying to make the case that the Greebo Matlockian government supports terrorism intentionally. We simply believe that terrorists have operated within your nation easily because of the weak nature of your government, and many warning signs have been missed. We believe the terrorist network to be vast and extensive, and have intelligence that it is operating within your own public sector.

Here's the deal. You're going to quit posting in this thread. You're also going to refrain from making personal attacks on other players.

Feel free to continue your roleplay by starting another thread if you have a need to do so. Just keep in mind that it has no effect on Avisron unless Avisron wants it to.

--International Waters Around Greebo Matlock--

It seemed obvious to ranking members of the Avisronite government that they did infact have the stronger position in the raging realm of international debate.

Greebo Matlock had been carpet bombed, had its industry burned to the ground, and then its navy bombarded by "terrorist" cruise missiles. The worst mistake they had made, however, was to trust that the Avisronite government was actually straightforward, trustworthy, and had no eye for revenge.

That was far from the case, however; especially since a classified report had passed its way through the government detailing the extent to which the Greebo Matlockian government was infiltrated by radical members of the terrorist faith.

The weaker, the hungrier, the average men, women, and children of the nation are, the more likely they'd be willing to revolt. The more likely they were to revolt, the more likely the Greebo Matlockian government would have to address the massive problems within its society. Of course, if they didn't address those problems, the society would tear itself apart. With no central government, there would be no central military - and with no central military, there'd be no central resistance to any outside force.

Namely, the Libertarian Federation of Avisron.

And with that in mind, the Avisronite Navy prepared to strike once again.

The invisable hand in this whole godforsaken shadow conflict, the Avisronite submarine force had been entrusted to bluntly cripple Greebo Matlock while at the same time remaining unseen, unheard, and unknown.

To accomplish this, the LFA had moved in 14 Triefe Class SSH's. In short, submarines designed to hunt their prey. Instead of using massive firepower to lob cruise missiles over enemy territory, these boats were designed to slip into enemy held waters, pick out individual targets, and then blow them to hell with torpedoes.

Not even carrying long-range cruise missiles, these (relatively) tiny boats had scores of sensors to pick out small targets, threats, survailance hardware, mines, and anything else worth noting. More importantly, however, they were packed with ways and means to stay undetected against some of the most powerful navies on Earth. Staying invisable against some shoreline patrols wouldn't be that difficult.

The primary target of these advanced tools of policy inforcement? Fishing boats. The fishing boats that roamed around the nation were to be obliterated. At first the SSH's would pick off the larger, deeper ocean units. Then, they'd move in closer to shore.

The mission was in progress, too. The SSH's were small and fast, able to travel from their stations in the blue water regions to the brown water of Greebo Matlock in just a few days.

The hunt, infact, had already started.

Breaking News

Radical religious terrorists have simultaneously entered crowded banks in the capital city of Avisron. Shots were issued to subdue the customers and staff, and it is believed that in each bank a small number of staff were killed execution style. The customers and majority of the staff have been taken hostage. A tape released to the media explains that the terrorists demand that all funding for religious warfare be immediately ceased - within Avisron and in the international theatre. The terrorists are currently held up in at least a dozen, small, independently owned banks. The number of hostages is currently unknown at this time.
The terrorists have promised a release of the hostages once their demands have been met. Reports seem to indicate that the terrorists are armed with automatic weapons, small arms, and bombs capable of destroying the banks.

[The Bank HostageSituation]

The LFA had a long standing doctrine of trying to minimize the amount of attention any hostage situation would be given. Very rarely would someone hold a standoff for hours, like in some other nations. The Avisronite National Police Force [ANPF], in its infinite wisdom, possesses multiple SWAT units that are armed to the extent of being able to hold their own against the military elite forces of some smaller nations.

The first operational difficulty encountered by the hostage takers was one they should have been prepared for. The Avisronite population, being armed to the teeth, was already looking for revenge after the original terrorist attacks. At one of the banks, the terrorists were met by a heavily armed resistance inside the lobby of the bank. The Avisronite citizens ended up killing two of the terrorists, dragging one into the street with them (where he was restrained and then turned over to the ANPF), and allowing most of the would-be hostages to escape.

However, this was not the case at the other 11 banks. The ANPF never attempted to negotiate with the terrorists. Instead, 3 hours into the standoff, heavily armed ANPF SWAT Teams inside large, armored vehicles crashed through the front doors of each of the banks. This tactic prevented the terrorists from making further ideological outcries, as well as prevented the Avisronite government from being put in the position to negotiate with them.

The simple fact was that there was no way the terrorists would be able to execute 100% of their hostages while simultaneously fighting for their own survival. Secondary SWAT Teams were mobilised to follow the armored vehicles through the breaches and quickly escort the hostages outside. Even if the terrorists did infact have bombs, it was likely that in at least one instance, a bomb would fell to detonate.

The choice to launch this massive frontal assault was difficult, but weighing the statistical factor against the human factor, it's obvious it was the best choice.

The simple fact was that there was no way the terrorists would be able to execute 100% of their hostages while simultaneously fighting for their own survival.

The terrorist do not care for their own lives, as their reward lays ahead of them. As soon as the banks are penetrated by forces all 12 groups denoted their bombs - reducing 11 of the conflict zones to rubble instanteously.

One terrorist group, lead by Almar who failed repeated explsoives training exercises, did not wire his explosions properly. Almar attempted to fire upon the enemy but was knocked unconscious when his ill-maintained, dirty, gun backfired. The rest of his team continued to fit with their automatic weapons and were killed.

[The Hostage Situation]

Of the 110 SWAT Team members sent to breach the banks, 59 are killed. The rest live due to either being in the armored vehicles, or being near the opening in the buildings so that the blast pushed them away from the building.
