OOC: Who doesn't like to have a crazy law or two in their country? I'm trying to get some more content in for some time, since I have a research and development thread that's going to encompass fifteen more months. This is one of two threads I plan on doing until that research is done. Well, maybe some more economic threads would be nice. Ehh..., you'll see them if I have them.

Jerry Sophrone is Dictator of Havvy
Marriage Has Become a Religious Only Deal in Havvy
Atheists are mad because of the Repeals.

Yesterday, Jerry Sophrone, dictator of Havvy, made a pressing speech about the religious customs of Havvy. He made it clear to many people that marriage was a religious custom, and as such, has decided to repeal it to help gain support from both Atheists and Christians, the two major religions of Havvy.

The speech, which lasted about ten minutes, was very precise, and to the point. It gave knowledge on things like how the country of Havvy doesn't favor religion, and like business, it should be a separate entity.

He did not render any contracts void though, as he knew that would mean very bad repercussions on business, and on the faith of people.

The final point of his speech was that he was going to give a substitute, but it would not be a religious one. It would only be a legal document.

Both Atheists and Christians stand together on this issue, and oppose the move made by Mr. Sophrone. Here is a joint statement by Pastor Paul V. and George Umant.

"We will fight these repeals any way we can. It seems that when dealing with law, Jerry Sophrone doesn't know anything, and has been coming to conclusions way to fast. He needs to slow down and think before his next act of law."

Paul V. later made this announcement.

"Any Christians wanting to get married, can still do so, but you won't be able to get a divorce, and their is no legal part to it. You may only get married with your opposite mate [girl & boy only], and you may only marry one person. This will become a religious custom just as Jerry Sophrone said, so I guess we have one thing over those Atheists. Oh well, without the legal part to a marriage, it is very hard to tell if a person has gotten married or not. We need to get the legality of marriage back into Havvy."

OOC: I can write up Jerry Sophrone's speech if you want me to. I just provided a summary in that article. Feel free to debate, and try to shape Havvy. Tell me how odd you think this law sounds, and things like that. If you want to declare war, you better have a good reason.

No Tagging. Avoid Uber Wanking. I don't use NS Tracker. It's stats are too strong for my country. Avoid direct quoting of this post. All you'll get is OOC nonsense, and the title/date/© part of the article.
If you want to use © in your article, you can copy paste it from the bottom of Jolt forum. You can also use the ® sign also.

OOC: I already beat that, a while ago, when I promoted the wholesale rape and slaughter of children (and the subsequent transformation of their bodies into smoothies), not to mention turning retirees into eggrolls.

Umm...., I don't think that's the correct path I am going to take. I remember barely looking at that thread when I first started looking. I had no clue it would escalate into a 250 thread war (or something like that).

Me, I'm just trying to make drastic changes to Havian society so that we have a look as a new type of government, which I call the Deaticom Party.

Oh, and never will I try to rp anything with wholesale rape, slaughtering of children, turning people into smoothies, or turning people into egg rolls. It just isn't worth it.

Final Bump. If nobody has any support/(opposite of support) that I guess this thread shall be considered here as a reference.

The Community does not have marriage laws. The arcane marriage laws existed as a remnant of enforced morality and were considered more of a tax issue. Now it is a personal decision, and the matter of marriage is handled by non-governmental forces. We do not feel it is our place to tell you how to run your country.
