OOC: This is a tech thread for a non-lethal weapon my country is starting to develop. If you want to get your hands on it, you'll have to start doing some espionage or something. Click Here (http://www.globalsecurity.org/military/systems/ground/v-mads.htm) for more information on what I shall be developing. I don't think we Have ADS yet in NS, so this is a great way to leave my mark on NS. I plan on selling the production rights to several storefronts, and than give them permission to sell the production rights/weapon system.

Everybody gets two million dollar ideas each year. Well, I have found one scientist that has one of them.

The scientist Ryan Yalus, a non-lethal weapons director has come up with an idea to make people feel like they are on fire without actually being on fire.

Well, he did some research with another scientist, Gareth Brooks, an expert in electromagnetic waves.

Together, they discovered that a ray that penetrates a small amount of space, it will make them feel like they are on fire without actually being on fire.

They contacted me today, and I gave them the go-ahead to start trying to build a prototype.

We all expect for there to be a system, which we are calling "Active Denial System" or ADS, to be made in two years, ready for testing.

We might fine non-militarized means for this idea, and a small idea is melting snow.

Unfortunately, since it can't penetrate too deep without causing injury, we fear it will be ineffective if soldiers wear any metal.

We believe that this can be used though, to stop protesters. I'll be writing another thing on this in a couple more days.

OOC: Strikingly similar to something Raytheon came out with...

IC: The Community has developed similar technology that operates in a shorter range, using harmonics and the natural sensitivity of the human skull structure.

Quite simply it broadcasts high frequency sound waves over a small region, which reverberate inside natural cavities inside the cranium. This causes a complete upset, causing the targets to suffer symptoms similar to a migrane headache.

We are still in the process of introducing non-lethal devices into our suppresionary forces, however thermobarics and white phosphorus remain the favorite crowd control devices among the specialists.

2 Months Later I guess. I want to go through this quickly.

Article by Jerry Sophrone

Two months ago, I wrote an article on the new system that Havvy is developing. It is called ADS, or Active Denial System.

Today, I am going to give more information on it.

The two scientists working on the project have been looking for a good wave length so it doesn't burn.

They have found three choices.

1. A wave that penetrates 3 millimeters into the skin. It doesn't work well on African Americans, and it burns Caucasians. It's mainly good for tan people, Native Americans, and Mexican.

2. A wave that penetrates 3/70 of the skin. It does damage to cold sensors, so we can't use this.

3. A wave that penetrates 1/64 of the skin. This one reaches the heat sensors, but barely. It doesn't damage the skin, and to get a burn would take more than a minute of it, which would probably put a person into unconsciousness.

So, we are going to try to develop something that can do number three. Unfortunately, it takes a lot of work to get to that point, so yah, it'll be awhile before we get to that point.

The prototype that was promised, will be out though, three months sooner than expected. They plan to have it in the next 19 months.

H.72 Oct. 3; A Brief Summary

Three months have passed.
Sixteen months until a working prototype.
Draft Plans for Half the parts are finished.
For the next nine months, more drafting, and creating of the prototype parts will continue.

Jerry Sophrone

Dear all leaders of the world, especially if those of you who like to start corporate deals.

We are developing an Active Defense System here in Havvy, which basically makes a person feel on fire, without actually doing that. We are currently trying to get a working prototype, but that'll take at least A year and a season. We need to start production of the parts though.

We don't have anybody who wants to build a place just to make one thing. We are thus, asking if in your prototype building plans, please try to make some of our parts.

We'll pay you $2 million if you do this. I'm sure that you'll make a profit off it. If we made a factory, our public would find one of our best kept secrets. We don't want the public to know until we have it ready for them. If it fails, they should never know.

Thus, we have asked you. Will you build a few parts for us?

Skyetech Industries will lease one of our lesser used facilities off the coast of Siap for $1 million per annum. Hiring workers and purchasing materials are, of course, not included in the cost. If you want, we can manage the entire project for $4 million and produce a working prototype in less than a year. We offer such a low price in the hopes that you will consider us or one of our subsidiaries in the future.

Alright, well that works. If you want, you can lower the cost by one half, and we'll let Siapian companies to have free copywrite protection for this product. Is that a good deal?

Which option are you after? The one where we manage the project?

If you say you can do it in less time, than we shall have a plane escort the scientists working on the project to your country, and they can work with your scientists. That you said, would cost around $4 million. That is the project I am currently talking about.

And for $2 million and permanent production rights, we will deliver in ten months.

Yes, alright, that works. We shall send you 4 million Nuyecomarks (2 Nuyecomarks = 1 USD) and all our research. You must only promise the following:

Siap will not use ADS on the nation of Havvy.
Siap will not sell any ADS(es) to a nation wishing to do harm to Havvy.
Siap will not sell production rights. (Period)
Siap will pay in full, 6 million Nuyecomarks to Havvy if they perform an action not allowed by this bill.

OOC: Not to rain on your parade, and I'm not certain that anyone sells them, but ADS's are in use on Nationstates. Specifically, I've seen Whyatica, and I believe Allanea using them, in this new annexation of Clandonia Prime thread, and the Occupation of British Londinium/Eurasia thread, respectively.

OOC: We have ADS systems, but they use different technology and are much more lethal.

[OOC: ADS was indeed used extensively in the aftermath of the New Year Rising in British Londinium, but that doesnt mean Havvy can't develop it too.]
