IC: The RSFSR hereby places an embargo on all Russian Breakaway states. We do not mean nations of the CIS, only those who were russian territory at one point in time. (ahem...Kiwiland*cough* ach, I forgot the other one's names.) We strongly advise them to rejoin the union. Any military threats made to us by them will be laughed at and ignored considering The RSFSR owns pretty much all of the major military and manufacturing centers.

OOC: I assume you do not mean to include Ukraine in that statement, one would not be wise to agitate my nation at this point, especially not Russia, China would love to take control of the disputed territories along your border and the United States has already shown interest in forming a defensive pact with my nation. But hey, a war between us could really get the ball rolling, I pull in the US, Yugoslavia, Nordic Kingdom and China, you get Eurasia, that Turkish state, India and the Heart of Armaggedon (I probably spelled that wrong), it could be fun. But again, I assume I wasn't included as part of your statement because Eastern European Union is a pretty easy name to remember compared to some others out there. :p

Secret Diplomatic Message to the Low Confederacy:

We seek a peaceful resolution of the Cape Verde situation. In exchange for your giving up claims to Cape Verde and pulling out your troops, the United States will come to your defense against all enemies. We offer you a free trade agreement and $300 billion in economic aid. If you are in need of other security guarantees, we are prepared to negotiate. This is our best and final offer. We ask that you give it careful consideration.

US Ambassador

Yeah, I was talking about the Siberian Countries and that small one above China, but hey, it could happen :)

OOC: actually, I thought 3, 4 nations claimed land from Russia?

IC:

His Majesty's Government of Kiwiland protests the unilateral and utterly ineffective measures of the RSFSR. While as a peaceful nation we do abhor militaristic solutions, we must remind the RSFSR that we, too, possesses considerable industrial manufacturing capability.

Also, given the fact that trade between our nations is minimal, please do not expect us to respond further to such unreasonable actions as an embargo.

The Imperial Han Navy is currently reviewing prospects of force projection, to cope with the great deal of expansionist tendencies currently being undertaken. After review, it has been decided that the purchase of existing force projection equipment would be more economic and thereby the preferred solution. Therefore, it is the interest of the Imperial Navy to procure rights to first test each of the vessels submitted below and after subsequent approval acquire at minimum three of each:

* AIP submarine
* gas-powered/nuclear-powered carrier [first option is the preferred choice]
* cruiser vessel
* carrier-fitted aircraft
* helicopters [attack, patrol, and medical]
* to be updated when a new acquisition is perceived

All prospective manufacturers ought consult the Imperial Office of Naval Research and Development with details on the vessel/craft being offered and likewise a subsequent record of the history of the vessel/craft in combat situations if applicable. The Imperial Naval Department wishes to thank all those interested in this project and perceives that much good fortune will come to those who supply details.

Message to the Imperial Office of Naval Research and Development, The Great Han Empire

We are offering the Great Han Empire one Gotland Class SSK Submarine, and one Visby Class Corvette, for testing purposes, to see if the vessels fulfill your requirements. The Gotland Class Submarine is one of the best conventional SSK submarines in the world, with an air-independent propulsion (AIP) system. Thanks to the AIP the underwater endurance is extended from a few days to around 14 days. And as a bonus is the system vibration-free, silent (of course) and virtually undetectable. (OOC: Link here (http://www.naval-technology.com/projects/gotland/).)

The Visby Class Corvette is a stealth vessel made from carbon fiber, which gives the vessel good shock resistance and a low radar and magnetic signature. (OOC: Link here (http://www.naval-technology.com/projects/visby/).)

I'm attaching the data sheets for these two vessels, and I'm ready to answer your questions regarding these ships.

We also have the JAS-39 Gripen (OOC: link (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Saab_Gripen)) airplane up for export, and we're currently planning a carrier-version of the plane. Should you be interested of the plane, I can arrange a couple for testing.

[ooc: let's clear something else first...]

To His Majesty, the King of the Nordic Kingdom:

His Imperial Majesty - the Gwangmu Emperor - wishes to inquire first and foremost on the establishment of diplomatic relations, whereas such relations are tantamount to the establishment of formal and recognizable trade relations. Recently, representatives of a corporation of your domain confronted our Imperial Office of Naval Research and Development with proposals to offer for preview some of their products. On preview, His Imperial Majesty's subjects were satisfied with the objects described and their test performance. However, due to the lack of formal relations, it is impossible at the moment to procure the required amount for domestic testing - and seeing as your country does not demonstrate active hostility toward its neighbors and indeed further demonstrates actions tantamount to demonstrations of Western protectionism [as opposed to expansionism]. It can therefore be determined that first - diplomatic relations with the Nordic Kingdom would serve in our interests - and second - friendly contacts with the Nordic Kingdom are indeed favorable to His Imperial Majesty, perhaps even necessary so.

It is therefore our interest to establish friendly relations with your government - first to secure friendship with another Western country and second to advance an opportunity to improve the Imperial affairs. His Imperial Majesty anticipates a welcome response and anxiously awaits your reply nonetheless.

His Imperial Majesty issues forth an invitation to all countries within the environs of the Orient to participate in the Hanseong Conference (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=516763). It is necessary - as civilized countries - to band together and form an alliance against the dangers of expansionist powers. Therefore, it has been resolved to set the foundations for the future Gwangju Cooperation Organization, and thereby offer to all in the Orient serenity under the protections of civilized neighbors.

Those interested must submit to His Imperial Majesty a request for entrance before attending.

Furthermore, we wish to submit to you Prince Yi Jongmu [이종무군] as ambassador from the Empire to Stockholm. May this day be celebrated as the embellishment of peace, an affirmation of the triumphs of civilization.

=====

Having established formal relations with your reigning government, it has been the governing decision of the Imperial Office of Naval Research and Development to acquire the following items of technology:

[5] ::: Gotland Class Submarine
[5] ::: Visby Class Corvette
[5] ::: JAS-39 Gripen

If possible, His Imperial Majesty's government would like to procure securities that the JAS-aricraft can be modified to carrier designs and hence will offer to support its research, design, and production if prompted to do so. Unfortunately, we cannot at the moment determine any future allocations for this project and hence, we must hold this for another time.

If His Imperial Majesty's Armed Forces are pleased with these vessels/crafts after our home testing, we will seek to procure additional vessels/crafts, although as stated we cannot guarantee any future allocations for this project. Nonetheless, we offer our gratitude and will seek to compensate your services adequately.
