"Democracy, a government kept in place by the will of the people. The only government, I believe, that should be implamented anywhere. But, this is not to be, the monarchy of our former ally, Rhodesia, has claimed that this government is corrupt and that they will be here when it falls. This I tell them is most definitly not true. This nation rose from the ashes of a civil war to become one of the greatest countries on earth. Democratic in governmental process, and a becon of freedom around the world; a prosperous economic powerhouse. Yet there are those who wish to see our nation fall, King Herrman of Rhodesia has made such a prediction. Rhodesia has displayed open hostility to your government and to you in person; three months ago they placed economic sanctions on our nation in an atempt to weaken our economy. This of course did not succede.
Yesterday, August 12, 2084, our nation suffered a great tragedy. In an act of war, a Rhodesian Cruise Missle struck the Hrimfaxi while on a routine training mission. There were no survivers. I offer my sympathy to the families of those lost. I know nothing I say will ease your suffering, but know this, Rhodesia will not go unpunished for such a brutal act against the peoples of this nation.
This morning I asked congress to declare a state of war against Rhodesia; they have accepted my request. I am hereby ordering national conscription of 35 percent of all able bodied men and women. Your country is calling upon you to defend the freedoms you hold dear. Avenge your lost brethren,and bring down the evil monarchy of Rhodesia. We will not stand idle when such a blantant act against our country is commited, we will not watch our kinsmen die and not act; we will fight to the last man and woman if need be! To arms!"
