"Good, lets get moving." admiral Maresuke Nogi answered.

Imperial Japanese Fleet Strike Force started moving towards Luzon strait, main goal was Manila, capital of Philipines, troop transports were defended by 47 destoryers and 16 frigates. 10 submarines already were in Philipines waters. As IJN Strike Force entered to waters of Philipines, hidden forces at Manila got encrypted message "Capture Mount Akagi!", that meant start of decapitation strike to capture Philipines government and strategical locations at Manila. 1500 commandos hidden at Nippon Cargo Airlines cargo planes moved out to capture Ninoy Aquino International Airport. At same time main group of 7000 troops hidden at different merchant ships at port of Manila moved out, main objective was captureing government of Philipines to end effective resistance before it can start.

Urgent Communique to the Empire of Japan

To His Imperial Japanese Majesty,

Although the resumption of militarism and imperialism in your country is unnerving to us here in the United Socialist States of Wagdog, it is not taken as an unprovoked sign of hostility as it would be by some others. We too believe that the restrictions imposed upon you after the Great Pacific War were categorically unjust, even considering the scale of your defeat at the time, and are not offended by your country's restoration in full of the venerable Meiji Constitution.
Your military action in the Philippines puts us in a bind. If we support you openly, we will rightly be seen as collaborating with imperialism and thus as traitors to our comrades worldwide. But if this were to mean war between us, the result would virtually be a twisted mirror-image of the Pacific War; we holding superior local power due to our impressed US equipment, particularly strategic assets unavailable to your nation, but you holding superior global power due to your economy's riches and your people's undoubted warrior tradition.
We are open to Your Majesty's suggestions on peaceful coexistence between our nations in this vast Pacific Ocean we share. We can only state our vital interests plainly. These are: Opposition to racial, religious, or personal discrimination in any form, anywhere; opposition to unconstitutional governance, except where required by emergency; and opposition to imposition of reactionary social forms upon progressive peoples without their legitimate consent.
Those said, if you aim to rule the Philippines lightly, with the Filipinos becoming full and equal Japanese citizens, and being harmoniously absorbed into your renowned culture, then we shall accept what geopolitical realities the world presents to us. We only wish to enable the peoples of the Pacific to determine their own destiny, yourselves included. Your intentions for governance in the Philippines and views of FPU action towards Singapore being made known to us will assist greatly in this effort. In return we offer full ambassadorial exchanges between our countries and an open mind to possible joint efforts later.

Sincerely, with utmost respect for Your Majesty and wishes you may reign 10,000 years yet,
Carolinus Horridus of the Revolutionary Party,
General Secretary,
United Socialist States of Wagdog Revolutionary Command Council.

An aid ran into Alexei Dolgoruky's office, holding a paper. "Comrade! War's broken out in the Philipines!"

"War? What? Who's war?"

"It seems to be Japan, comrade! At least, the soldiers are Japanese. One of our comrade spies was at the airport, which is now under Japanese control. However, they had a laptop with wireless connection, and so were able to communicate this distressing turn of events with us."

"Very good, comrade. I shall take appropriate action immediately."

Imperial Japanese Forces at Manila had succesfully captured all strategical locations, majority of government of Philipines was effectively captured, still some ministers and other high officials managed to avoid captureing and escaped the town. Philipinos were completely suprized and resistance was weak and unorganized.

IJN strike force continued moving towards Manila. At same time Imperial Japanese Airforce started airstrikes aganist targets at Luzon island. Also airforce that were transporting reinforcements to captured airport were on their way. Japanese high command knew well that Philipine army was weak and badly organized due financeing problems, also they completely lacked modern airforce. But most importnantly they were completely unprepared for such suprize attack and were still in total confusion.

Communique to United Socialist States of Wagdog:

Empire of Japan is not interested in large scale resistance movements or international outrage that brutal occupation would cause so force will be used as little as possible. Filipinos will receive citizenship of Empire of Japan then annexation is completed. About FPU action on Singapore, we will tolerate it as long as FPU tolerates our action at Philipines. Official Communique of Empire of Japan:

Republic of the Philippines has recently seen serious instabilty. To prevent anarchy in territory so close to Japanese home islands Empire of Japan has decided to take Philipines under our control to restore stability. Government and President of Philipines are under our protection.
Both Mario Iliescu and Rilir Alarion had seen the various papers recent reports from the State Department and it's intelligence apparatus. The Japanese were storming the Philippines with their usual talent for surprise and complexity. "An impressive operation." The vampire Defense Secretary couldn't hide his admiration for Japanese boldness.
"A violation of a people's right to be left alone." The elven State Secretary couldn't disagree more. The world his people had come here from had seen enough of the sort of things Japan was up to, and he was thoroughly tired of it. "But at least the Japanese don't seem eager to repeat their past mistakes, from what I've learned of them from you that is, Comrade General Secretary."
"Indeed, Rilir." General Secretary Horridus had appointed the Elf to this post, despite his not being of the ruling Revolutionary Party and the politicking that had necessitated, precisely because of such evenhandedness. "Our objectives are satisfied in this. The Japanese mean us no threat, but only to restore civil order in the Phillippines; and nor do they openly back the FPU either for now." A solid front to compel the Federal Pacific Union to justify its actions in Singapore was imperative, and really all Wagdog's defensive and diplomatic establishments could fully handle. "Ready the 1st Submarine Squadron at Guam," namely 2 ex-American Los Angeles class SSNs, "for immediate departure to Port Moresby in case naval action south of us is needed. Also move our F-15E Strike Eagles and A-10A 'Warthogs' to bases on New Guinea. Guam is safe for the moment, so let's take advantage.
"And get that embassy in Tokyo set up, please." It wouldn't do to forget that at all, for sure. "The Japanese ambassador should be arriving in the next few days and I don't want us to be caught up short."
Both secretaries agreed with their General Secretary's orders. If only the Americans were so prompt in decision as the Japanese had been...

Admiral William J. Fallon commander of the Pacific military region sat at a large oak wood table with 7 members of his staff. His laptop sat in front of him with satellite imagery of an Imperial Japanese Fleet heading towards the Philippines. Those present at the meeting were Rear Admiral James Godright commander of the George H.W. Bush strike group. Captain Isaac Edwards, CO of the USS-George H.W. Bush. And other members of Admiral Fallon's staff.

"The Reason I've called you all here today is because we are monitoring an Imperial Japanese Fleet heading towards the Philippines." Said Admiral Falon in a stiff tone. "But isn't Imperial Japan on the US's good side?" Captain Isaac spoke up. "Yes, but they aren’t the problem. The Problem is the Russians who are threaten action on the Japanese. I think it is wise if we go to High Alert and ready the George H.W. Bush strike group on standby." heads around the room nodded up in down in agreement. "I have already put the air wings on Code1 if they need to be out here fast. I expect you all to be ready on a moments notice. Understood?" "Yes Sir!" everyone said. "Good, Dismissed"

The Pan Asian Bloc condemns this unprovoked and reckless expansionism by Japan. Any further expansion in the Pacific will be viewed as a threat to the security of the whole Pacific, and our Russian allies also share this view wholeheartedly. Keep in mind that Japan's actions in the future will not go unnoticed, and we will not tolerate intimidation from any nation that supports Japan. This incident has marred Sino-Japanese relations, but we shall not pursue further action at the present time.

Official SECRET Communication to the Empire of Japan

OOC: ^That means SIC!

SIC:
The Federated Pacific Union congratulates the Empire of Japan of moving to control the Philipines-a nation without much organized government. The FPU wishes the Empire well, and hopes the operation can be done with minimal Japanese losses. The Union also hopes that Japan and the Union can become productive and friendly neighbors in the future.
Secondly, we are slightly concerned about the buildup of forces in New Guinea by Wagdog forces-and their condemnation of the Union as an "oppressive" regime, when Singapore has shown some interest in our plan to give them membership in the Union. We do hope that the Empire of Japan will not side with Wagdog should they try to launch anything at the Union-we are simply trying to make our existence, while they purposely slander us for no apparent reason other than to personally benefit.

Yours in leadership,

TACNA, PERU-BOLIVIA

Presidente Aoki Kikujirō sighed as he read through his morning paper. Well, it had happened. No sooner had Japan decided to do that military thing again than it had decided to invade a peaceful, sovereign nation. I mean, wasn't this how the war back in the day had started?
'I'll have to get...' Aoki began to think, when he was interrupted by his phone ringing. He looked down at the caller ID. It read "Kitano Aoki Morishita." His dad. When his parents had come from Japan, they had their names rendered into a Spanish format; first name, father's last name, mother's last name. His name throughout school had been, "Kikujiro Aoki Ueto," minus the "ō's" that should have been at the end of "Kikujirō" and "Uetō."
"Ohayō, otōsan," he said into the phone, "What do you need?"
"Kikujirō! Did you hear about what that new crazy Imperialist government is doing in Firipin?" his father replied, "You should do something about that?"
"Yeah, I should," Aoki said, "Problem though; I'm the president of PERU-BOLIVIA. What are we going to do, sail our little destroyers across the Pacific?"
"You should cut off trade with them!" his father said, "You know, the...embargo thing."
"Well, I'm sorry, dad," Aoki said, "The only thing the government of Japan seems to be using that comes from our country is a white powder that I can't really embargo."
His father broke out laughing on the other end, "You are a funny kid, son."
His father's laughing was soon replaced with a dial tone. Aoki hung up the phone.
'I really need to get to that condemning, though...' he thought.

OFFICIAL GOVERNMENT STATEMENT

La República Democrática Federal del Perú y Bolivia wholeheartedly condemns this blatant act of imperialist expansionism. The Empire of Japan seems all too eager to prove that it indeed cannot be trusted with a full military force. The Republic of the Phillipines is a sovereign nation, and was not nearly "unstable" enough to merit a full-scale invasion until Japan saw fit to take said action.

Under protection of IJN Strike Force 40,000 reinfrocements with heavy weaponry arrived to Manila. General Nobutatsu Ichijo ordered full scale offencive aganist confused Philipino forces and soon IJA forces reached to the coast of Philipines sea cutting Philipine forces on Luzon into two parts. Small force of 3000 men was landed on Bataan peninsula to ensure safety of future reinforcements that were on their way to Manila.

Second wave protected by 5 destroyers and 3 frigates was already on its way, 7000 men landed northern Luzon near Laoag, another 5000 men landed at Lingayen Gulf. Philipino resistance was minimal and so IJA forces pushed inland.

Imperial Japanese Airforce started rebaseing its Philipines campaing forces from its Ryukyu islands bases to airfields that were captured at Philipines. So far only Luzon had been under bombing but now airstrikes extended over all Philipines, especially on Mindanao island.

Large groups of low-morale Philipino forces that were located at cut off northern part of Luzon started surrendering to advanceing Imperial troops. IJN submarines started hunting Philipines Navy units, they were ordered to avoid sinking civilian ships at all costs.

Supreme War Council ordered to start preparations for landing on Mindanao.

At northern Luzon majority of Philipines forces had surrendered. Only Tuguegarao was still on Philipino hands, but it was surrounded and defenders had low morale because advance of Imperial troops had been unstoppable so far. On Southern Luzon Imperial troops were advanceing on Bicol peninsula towards Legazpi.

Strike force for invadeing Mindanao island had been formed, admiral Maresuke Nogi had 31 destroyers and 11 frigates defendeing landing force which included 25,000 Korean marines who were going to establish beachhead for IJA units. Philipines army didn't knew on which island next hit will land so they didn't know where to concentrate defences. But any force concentration would had been problematical anyway because Imperial airforce was actively bombing Philipines army.

0100 Hours, Mozambique Island

It was early, cold and wet. At Pier 17 of Mozambique Island Naval Base, a motorised crane was lifting a metal bridge off the hull of the SAS Pennant. Many ponchoed figures strode with purpose up and down the pier, and three uniformed Naval Officers stood at its end. Within the hour, the sub slipped off the pier and out into the Indian Ocean. The three officers saluted, before hefting their ceremonial rifles and firing off a round each, into the cold wet sky.

As she crept into the vast sea, the Captain radioed another Sub Captain, of the SAS Africaans, who was already at sea. The two were scheduled to meet off of Madagascar, before heading off to the distant Phillipines.

Their top secret exercise would observe the capabilities and tactics of the Japanese Imperial Navy, before moving towards the coast of the FPU.

Commander of Philipines army forces at Souther-Luzon decided that resistance was pointless and surrendered. At northern Luzon Tuguegarao town still refused to surrender and general Nobutatsu Ichijo started concentrateing forces for full scale attack on town.

Mindanao

IJN Mindanao strike force reached to its destination and Korean marines stormed the beach near Davao, resistance was weak. Marines advanced towards Davao but attempt to capture port of Davao was repelled by forces of Philipino general Miguel Trías, this was first notable Philipino victory in campaign. Both sides started prepareing for second engagement for port that both sides referred as "Gate of Mindanao".

Samar and Panay

As surrendering of Philipino forces at southern Luzon had freed noticeable amount of imperial troops two new islands were invaded. 4000 imperial troops landed at northern Panay. Another 6000 troops landed at northern Samar. Both landings didn't met any noticeable resistance.

Mindanao

Korean marines started second attack to capture port of Davao. With heavy casualties they broke through Philipino defence line. Marines reached to port and victory seemed to be at hand. But then Philipino forces under general Trías made unexpected counterattack and threw imperial troops back. "Gate of Mindanao" still held.

The clear water of the Pacific Ocean braked on the bow of the USS- George H.W. Bush. The Nimitz class carrier had been deployed by PACOM command just one day ago. The George H.W. Bush and its battle group were headed to just outside the Philippines to make sure no incident would occur. The George H.W. Bush strike group consisted of: The USS- George H. W. Bush, Carrier Air Wing Five, USS- Chosin, USS- Paul Hamilton, USS- O'Kane, USS Thach, USS Rodney M. Davis, USS-Columbus, and the USS McKee.

The plan PACOM had set up was for the battle group to set up some 300 miles outside of Philippine waters. It would then send out E-2C Hawkeye’s to patrol the airspace around the area. F-35Cs would also be on standby incase of any air attacks.

The SAS Pennant lurked below the surface as it entered Phillipino waters. Using their sonar to pathfind the subs way, they moved to a spot just off of Central Luzon. There, the captain lurked below the surface, running off Battery power for as long as possible.

Supreme War council decided to launch full scale attack against many islands that were ignored earlier to force Army of Philipines to surrender.

Southern invasion force, Davao Gulf

Admiral Maresuke Nogi personally leads naval force to make landings at Sarangani bay and Subuguey bay. Troop transports carrying 7000 troops are escorted by destroyers Shirane(flagship), Hatakaze, Kirisame, Inazuma, Ikazuchi, Sawagiri and 4 frigates.

Central invasion force, San Bernardino strait

Admiral Nobukimi Anayama leads invasion force to hit islands Leyte, Negros and Cebu. Troop transports with 15,000 IJA troops are defended by destroyers Haruna(flagship), Tachikaze, Asakaze, Takanami, Makinami, Suzunami, Umigiri and 3 frigates.

Eastern invasion force, Mindoro Strait

Smallest is eastern invasion force, led by admiral Yukimura Sanada. Only target of this invasion force is Honda bay, near Puerto Princesa, the most importnant town on Palawan island. No strong resistance is expected so there are only 3,500 troops for operation. Transports are escorted by destroyers Kirishima(flagship), Kongo, Asagiri, Amagiri, Hamagiri and 3 frigates.

Siege of Tuguegarao, Northern-Luzon

General Nobutatsu Ichijo knew that defenders were low of ammo and supplies, and decided to force defenders to surrender by slow attrition, as fast full scale attack would cause too many civilian casualties. IJA units started slowly advanceing into town from all sides.

Samar and Panay

Samar was practically under full control of Empire, resistance had been minimal as small Philipino units on island fastly surrendered. On Panay Philipinos concentrated to defend Iloilo but their small force couldn’t stop imperial troops and were overrun.

Davao, Mindanao

With recently arrived heavy weaponry IJA forces started full advance. Japanese spearhead lead by Type 90 tanks broke through defence line that Philipino forces had attempted to create north from Davao. Large groups of Philipino troops were surrounded and captured.

Finally, a surface contact. And quite a few of them. The SAS Africcans finally found something. Creeping towards Moro Gulf, the Submarines sonar became more and more accurate as it moved towards the Japanese fleet.

"Captain, Sonar room reports. More than ten surface contacts, moving out of the Davao Gulf. Moving towards us."
"Excellent, come to snorkling depth, charge up the batteries. Chief, plot a course to the Moro Gulf. We're going to wait for them."

2000 Hours, Luzon Strait

Under the coast of Luzon, the SAS Pennant was drawing out a course that would bring it round the Babuyan Islands, up towards Japan, before returnign to refuel with the Replenishment ship off Malaysia. It had less luck with ship-hunting.

Philipino Navy was not a threat but Imperial forces were still cautious as it was suspected that Greater Russian Confederation or Pan Asian Bloc may try to support Army of Philipines secretly.

Central invasion force, Visayan Sea

Admiral Anayama's invasion force succesfully landed 6,500 troops at Northern-Leyte. Landing force immediately started advanceing towards Tacloban.

Eastern invasion force, Honda Bay

Third and smallest IJN invasion with 3,500 IJA troops force started landing troops on Palawan island near Puerto Princesa with strong air support. Landing force met average resistance but succesfully managed to get on land.
