IC: The Russian diplomat was by any standards a rather intimidating man. He was ex-KGB, had served under Putin, played a substantial role in his fall, and rose to an important position in the new order. To have survived all this, despite being an important man in each order, was no mean feat.

Of course, intimidation was not expected to be required. The Cubans were, after all, fellow communists. They had been communist even during the years of Putin and his ilk.

So then, why would they have any problem with joining together with one of the largest communist forces in the world? The plane began it's descent to the Cuban airfield. If all went according to plan, he would meet the Cuban leader there. This entire meeting had been kept quiet so far. No reason to alert the capitalists, yet...

OOC: would an alliance between our nations be possible, regardless of slightly different political systems?

IC: Xiang Fayeng, a Pan Asian Bloc citizen currently studying in Moscow University, went to her usual weekend job at Moscow airport, waitressing at the airport bar. It was a boring day as usual, the only excitement being a drunken passenger falling over a bar stool. Suddenly out the window she saw an all-black diplomats car, instantly recognizable by the communist party emblem on the doors. The diplomat inside the car was instantly ferried inside the airport by two plain dressed minders, heading for the departure gate to Cuba. When she got home, she got on the phone to her friend in Hong Kong to gossip about the days events.

Location: Pan Asian Security Agency Communications Interceptions Building, somewhere in Central China.

"We have picked up communications from one of our foreign nationals in Moscow talking about a Russian Diplomat going to Cuba, apparently in quite a hurry" Console Operator Wen said to the supervising officer.

"Why would the Russians want to get a diplomat to Cuba in such a rush?" replied the officer. "Keep an eye on it".

For the reference, I am representing Cuba here.

Havana Airport

A red carpet had been laid out, and the Cuban Parade Guard assembled to meet the Russian Diplomat.

The carpet lead straight to a Stretch Limo, which would take the diplomat to the Castro's Palace. The direct descendent from Fidel Castro, Marco Castro had his fathers anger and tenacity. He was waiting in his well equipped main lounge.

Everything had been prepared. No-one should see the meeting taking place. The Cuban military had taken care of that.

Josef stepped from the plane. He was simply dressed, in an unadorned military uniform. He quickly walked to the car and got in. He was curious as to whether he would be allowed to retain his sidearm when he met with Castro.

The car was escorted by a couple of Cuban military trucks to the main Palace. There, it pulled up at the side door of the palace, and the Cuban troops unloaded and formed a large perimeter round the entrance.

Just inside the door, two Cubans in suits tood next to a small metal detector. No-one went in without their permission. There were too many anti-communist nut-jobs in this part of the world.
