Today, two hundred thousand Eurasian troops reportedly landed on the Montenengrin coast and have initiated an attack on Montenegro, with strategic bombers carpet bombing military installations and Montengrin soldiers being detained by Eurasia.

"Montenegro has reached a point where they must become part of the Commonwealth," Sir President Sinclair declared. "At the point where they rely on our military aid, our trade, and our assistance, I see no logical alternative but incorporation. The Montenegrin people will not be harmed. Any nation that cooperates with this advance will be rewarded handsomely."

EBG News analysts feel that this invasion is due to growing Eurasian discontent regarding Balkan dependence on the nation, which drains their economic productivity.

OOC: I need someone to RP Montenegro. By rewarded handsomely, I mean free territory.

OOC: I'll play Montenegro. Though you already have more troops in the country than Montenegro has people practically (pretty close).

Montenegrin Coast
1000 hrs

Shells flew over the heads of the advancing two hundred thousand Eurasian soldiers. Sand flew in their faces, mixing the scent of wet earth with that of blood and sweat. Blood of Eurasian and Montenegrin alike flowed down the beaches, pooling at the Eurasians' feet, splashing with each step.

B2 stealth bombers flew over head, pummelling whatever defences the Montenegrin military could mount. Royal Navy cruisers shelled the nearby city of Ulcinj, as RAC Curiatii stealth fighters soared above the beaches, covering the Eurasians.

Statement of the Government of the Britannic Commonwealth of Eurasia

To the nation of Montenegro:

Eurasia is a reasonable nation. We do not wish further casualities, or further violence. Therefore, we offer you a choice. Destruction of your nation, or peaceful surrender and cooperation.

To the United States of America:

Stop your meddling in European affairs. America has no reason to be involved in this issue, as it is a continental affair.

OOC:
Military bases can take up several square miles of space. Carpet bombing is used strategically against lone military targets like large troop bases, troop training camps, air bases, and naval docks. Essentially the Eurasians are Removing the biggest pieces of military infrastructure of their enemy early in the war.

OOC: okay...has anyone stopped and thought about how rediculous this is!? How in the hell can you throw 1 million troops at two seperate countries without a moments notice??? Britain doesnt own B2's! Please realize how insane this is!

IC: The RSFSR is greatly angered by this action and shall mobilize its army if you dont pull out. We ask nations like the US to do the same in irder to purge this evil from our lands.

IC thoughts of the Han Empire [meaning that this is the general opinion and mood of those in the Empire, not a directed statement to anyone]:

The Han Empire notes with disdain the trivial games that the Western Foreigners play. They waste men and time on wars with petty nations, not realizing that they only introduce themselves to strife and pain. But as they waste themselves on nations far away, the Empire shall take no regard to what the Western governments do - of course, actions that please the Empire shall be generously supported.

OOC: I didn't land them at a "moments notice", I announced that they landed at a moment's notice. Called a surprise attack? And notice that the news report was the official warning, and the landing didn't occur until later.

The Eurasian government sees no reason for Novistrana4 or any other nation to interfere in this matter. Do not attempt to disrupt our operations, lest we turn our war machine on another nation.

OOC: You DO NOT have a military budget of three trillion. You spend three billion on defence. Even if you did have 342 million soldiers, they would be poorly trained at best.

Statement of the Government of the Britannic Commonwealth of Eurasia

After review by HM Government, Montenegro lacks sufficient economic benefits to warrant an invasion at this time. All troops are withdrawing. However, Eurasia still laughs at Novistrana4's threats.

Communique from The Nordic Kingdom

The Nordic Kingdom is condemning the action taken by Eurasia. Montenegro's sovereignty cannot be violated, even though you're a more powerful nation.

On a later note we're glad that Eurasia did realize their fatal error, and we hope that peace and prosperity once more will return to the European mainland.

President Denounces Eurasia

Vienna - President Shishenko (OOC: Does that sound Ukranian?) denounced the actions of Eurasia and called for the European Community to follow suit. "Their [Eurasia's] actions in Montenegro have jeopardized the security of every European nation. It was thanks to the quick action of the United States and the threat of war that Eurasia was forced to back down from it's attacks." The President went on further denouncing the Eurasians for their blatant act of aggression and attempts to upset the balance of power in Europe. In addition to his scolding Eurasia the President announced that the National Assembly (aka Congress) was preparing an aid package to be offered to Montenegro in addition to the European Development Fund, a $23 billion dollar a year program that offers aide to the developing nations of Europe. While the President wouldn't go into details he did say that the aid package for Montenegro would be "adaquate". The conference ended with the President expressing his regrets at the loss of life Montenegro suffered from the initial bombings and calling for the people of EEU to pray for those who had lost their homes and loved ones in the bombings.

Eurasia was only trying to take what they thought were unclaimed greay countried, the lack of update lead to this problem

So, stop beating on eurasia. None of this happened.

Anyway, not singleing anyone out, just gotta let this thread die, or at least use it as an example of what can happen when people don't pay attention.

OOC: My bad, I didn't realize that the whole thing had been cancelled (which seems kind of bogus to me, afterall, Japan couldn't just "cancel" WWII after Pearl Harbor claiming "We expected the Americans to belly up, boy were we DUMBBBBBBB!") I thought the invasion had been cancelled following the first couple rounds of bombings.... Nothing to see here folks, go back to knitting or looking at dirty pictures or whatever it is you choose to do in your spare time.

ooc: It was called off as having never happened due to the fact that the conditions for which the combat started never existed.

Can't very well have a war on a battlefield that isn't there against a country you never knew about.
