Statement of the Government of the Britannic Commonwealth of Eurasia

After the blatant imperialism of the United States, and their interference in Eurasian and European affairs, the Britannic Commonwealth of Eurasia is cutting off trade with the United States. At the time of this communiqué, Royal Navy vessels are moving to stop all American vessels heading towards Eurasia and all Eurasian vessels heading towards the United States. The members of the American vessels will be detained and released the United States at our earliest convenience, as soon as we feel that there is no security risk to letting them go. Estimated time for this release is two weeks for the majority of American sailors. I urge all nations to join us in this embargo.

Signed,

Sir President Phillip Sinclair

Official White House Statement:

The United States considers Europe's actions to be an act of war. America demands the immediate and unconditional release of US citizens, the citizens of all other nations being held by Eurasian forces, and the return of their property.

In the meantime, the United States is freezing all Eurasian assets in US territories and asks its friends and allies to do likewise.

The first fleet is being dispatched to the Atlantic to ensure the protection of freedom of the seas for all nations. Eurasia must be reminded that it does not own the Atlantic Ocean. We call upon all nations to join us in ensuring that that Atlantic remains open to international commerce between nations.

Congress and the American people have begun expressing shock at the seizures.
"This is totally unjustified said Congressman Doug Simpson. We have not aggressed against the Europeans or done anything to warrant this action."

Congressman Bob Dornan noted it might be retaliation for the US position on Eurasia's invasion of Andorra which Eurasia claims is a joint exercise. He said Congress was still waiting for a report from the CIA to determine if an invasion was occuring or whether it was indeed a joint exercise.
He also stated the Eurasia's actions could be taken as an act of war if they continued and US citizens and property were not released.

The Glorious People's Republic of Aeson condemns this blatant attempt by Eurasia to force The United States of America to fall into lockstep with their imperialist agenda, and will as may be gathered, not be joining the embargo against our southernly neighbors. That said, we will be continuing trade with Eurasia as well for the time being.

Nations of the World,

CALM DOWN!

The British Commonwealth of Eurasia is having a disagreement with the United States of America. They have begun an embargo that stops all trade between their two nations, AND ONLY TRADE BETWEEN THEIR TWO NATIONS!

I understand we all want to get on the right vs wrong bandwagon and tell other nations what to do to make ourselves feel like we are somehow fighting evil. Eurasia's solution affects no other nation but themselves and America.

Let's leave this problem to what it is. Nothing more then a trade embargo between two nations.

If anybody has a problem with the real issue taking place, adress it that way. But it is in no way an interference with all of the world's trade at this time.

Anthony Malcolm, Prime

Effective immediately all Eurasian ships are banned from American ports and all Eurasian flights are banned from American airspace and airports.

Any attempts to restrict US freedom of movement along the Atlantic seaboard could have consequences for Eurasia.

OFFICIAL STATEMENT OF THE ALLIED UNION OF VELKYA

Greetings, fellow world leaders.

The state of Eurasia is currently granted protectorate status by a coalition of occupying powers, of which Velkya is a full fledged member of. Eurasia is well within its rights of sovereignty to trade with whomever it pleases, and any attempt to deny that right is to threaten Eurasia's sovereignty.

And we assure you, Eurasia's sovereignty is a vested interest of ours. Any American sailors previously detained by the government have been sent back to their nation(s) of origin via unarmed naval vessels (as stated in a previous Eurasian government statement). The United States' bold statements even in the face of the sane offers of the Eurasian government is highly disturbing the to Grand Senate, and is clearly unjustified. The Eurasians have the right to trade with whomever they please, and the Allied Union will not stand and let this right be taken from them.

It is with this notion that the Allied Union makes this official degree.

Any hostile motions by foreign powers against the nation of Eurasia will be met in kind by the Allied Union and her military might. This is your only warning, tread lightly.

We hope we have come across clearly, good day.

Rest Not In Liberty, For Freedom Isn't Free!

Edit: Or, I suppose announce your decision to protect his right to trade on general principles. That would make more sense...

As a response to the trade embargo put on the USA from Eurasia, The Nordic Kingdom is putting a trade embargo on Eurasia, prohibiting companies in the Nordics to trade with Eurasia.

The Nordics government is at the same time making talks with the USA about increasing the overseas trade, to find replacements for the trade with Eurasia.

The border between Denmark and Germany will still be open, but only to ordinary civilians. No trucks or trains will be allowed to cross the border.

Adress to the World,

The situation of the embargo is now getting out of hand. The BCE has a disagreement with the USA and cut off trade. The rest of the world reacted harshly and nearly took military action.

Since military action was greatly frowned upon, now nations wish to drop trade with Eurasia simply because they dropped trades with America. And America has yet to call Eurasia to the diplomacy table to ask the simple queastion "Eurasia, Whiskey Tango Foxtrot!?"

I ask that first, all nations resume their normal trade with Eurasia and America. While normal trade resumes, I would like to invite delegations from Eurasia and America to meet to discuss this matter. Gauthic would be honored if we could host the meeting in Los Dios, Fiji.

Please, at present there has been no progress. We emplore Eurasia and America to begin talks imediately.

Official American Response

The United States fully appreciates the Nordic Kingdom's support in this matter and would like to offer them Most Favored Trading Nation Status.
However we ask that they consider the effects of their embargo on families.
We believe that banning all truck and train traffic could be a strain on family who wish to visit one another but for whome walking may be a health risk.

We also ask the Nordic government to ease its embargo against Eurasia so as prevent the sudden loss of market from harming the international economy and their own businesses.

Official Travel Advisory

The United States advises its citizens in Eurasia to leave that nation immediately due to hostile actions that country has taken toward the United States and threats it has made against the well being of American citizens traveling in Europe.
Those Americans in European countries that are not part of Eurasia should excercise caution.

The Nordic Kingdom appreciates the status as Most Favored Trading Nation.

We also feel that we should clear some issues up regarding our embargo at Eurasia. People are allowed to cross the border between Denmark and Germany as they always have done. The restrictions are only valid for trucks and trains carrying gods. Trains and buses (as well as cars) with people can pass the border without restrictions.

And on your direct request, we will remove our trade embargo against Eurasia. Instead we will place a tariff of 40% on all gods imported from Eurasia, making their export to The Nordics decrease.

Songhai Economical Affairs

The Imperial government regards this is a territorial dispute, and shall continue trade of all Songhai goods and industrial products and services to both Eurasia and the United States at normal pricing and tarriffs.
However, the Songhai government wishes to express that if any subject of the Dominion is injured by the practices of this economic war between the Western nations, than the Holy Triumvirate will formulate plans to counter such aggression with retribution of its own.
Songhai is willing to play neutral as long as Eurasia and the United States respect this.

Alistair Charlier strode through the mahogany doors to the conference room, his silk tie billowing due to the speed of his gait. He roughly placed his briefcase on the table, sat down in a black leather chair, adjusted his tie, and addressed the American delegate.

"I am here to discuss the lift of the Eurasian embargo. We will do so under one condition: that the United States no longer interfere in European affairs."

His Imperial Majesty, the Gwangmu Emperor, is not amused by this reckless disregard for civility and presses for both sides to find a favorable solution to their problems. The Han Empire does not look well upon childish states in the West, and echoes sentiments of other sensible countries, whereupon the Han Empire shall make no obvious move for or against either party.
