Official Statement Of The Holy Empire Of Dentara

This morning, by direct command of His Most Holy Highness, Emperor Aramius I, Long May He Reign, a military installation at an undisclosed location began the pursuit of genetic engineering technology. In response to a number of complaints and protests lodged by prominent scientific and religious leaders, the Emperor himself spoke at a press conference, to quiet the voices of discord.

'For years, our national motto has been "One Nation; One Leader; One Goal. Peace Through Power!" Well, with the advent of genetic engineering, we can begin to truly realise the full potential to enforce peace, law and order throughout the world. At the moment, we have highly trained, efficient soldiers in the Imperial Army, Navy and Air Force. However, with genetic engineering, we can make our combat troopers more resilient and able to carry heavier loads. We can make our combat pilots able to withstand incredible G-forces, and able to see the enemy from much further away. We could make our naval commanders able to predict the path of our foes, and plan methods to bring them down. Right now, our glorious armies are powerful. If we combine this with genetic engineering, we could make them much, much more...'

Although the timeline of the project is said to be measured in months, and even years, the Imperial Army, Navy & Air Force Chiefs have given their full, unconditional support. Also, the Emperor has chosen to avoid subterfuge to keep such a project secret, or to disguise the primary goal of the project; to augment the military forces of Dentara, so that they become more proficient of bringing Law, Order and Peace to wherever they may go.

Press Statement from the Naashan Embassy in Dentara

The Reformed Democratic State of Naasha wholly supports the decision taken by Dentara to begin development on genetic engineering projects for its military. We would be eager to share our own research with the Dentaran scientists, although our own genetic engineering is mostly for medical purposes. On a more sombre note, should the technology be a success, Dentara will be placed in a position of great responsibility, we hope that things are not allowed to get out of hand as has been seen in some nations practicing military genetic engineering.
