"Are we assembled, gentlemen?" Prime Minister Tovey looked around his cabinet room to see all the seats filled as cigar and pipe smoke floated to the top of the darkened room. A number of "ayes" shot back at Tovey.
"Good. Now, I summoned you all here for a reason that we have been ourselves debating for some time now."
A chorus of nods.
"Yes. A.P.O.C. Now, last time we met, we came to a conclusion, did we not gentlemen?"
Another chorus of nods.
The minister of foreign affairs spoke up before Tovey could continue. "Sam, do you really think this is a good idea? Do you really think you're doing the right thing?"
Tovey nodded. "Of course. I do believe that the rest of the cabinet agreed with me."
"We have many friends in APOC. Friends we can't afford to lose. What of the Pax Questaria? Would you turn on your own policies?"
"The Pax doesn't exist, Osami. It never did."
"Bullshit." The Foreign Minister spat out. "Its been our staple for years." He was getting angrier. "If you think we can afford to do this, you're ignorant."
The Navy Minister replied. "And what's going to happen, Osami? We're stronger than ever. We're the strongest nation in the world."
"So its true then." The Foreign Minister retorted. "You Navy types do think with your dicks."
"Enough!" Tovey roared. "Stop bickering like children. The decision stands. Shimamura, how mobilised are we?"
The Navy Minister grinned. "Partly demobilising, but I can reverse it."
"Good. We may need it if it turns nasty."
"Sam." Osami continued. "Do you know how much of our capital the Praetonians own?"
Tovey looked over at the Minister for the Exchequer, a one Roger Brooke. "Well, its true." Brooke said. "But they wouldn't dare withdraw it."
"How sure of you are that?" Osami looked right into his eyes and saw arrogance.
"Very sure."

Government Communique
As of 25th June, 1947, the His Majesty's Government proclaims that it condemns the alliance known as the Alliance for the Preservation of Civilization - and its member states that are not in some way already tied to Questers. We find it disgraceful that an Alliance that claims to Preserve Civilization would accept those whos governments are run autocratically and chosen not by their people, but by their military might, into their ranks.
We hereby withdraw all political support; in these uncertain times from the group known as APOC and withdraw any ties we had with said group, whether they be political or military. Secondly, we urge all nations, especially our close ally Praetonia, to do the same, for any democratic nation would have nought to do with those what sully the name of civilisation with tyranny and dictatorship.
