Statement of the Government of the Britannic Commonwealth of Eurasia

The Britannic Commonwealth of Eurasia, after extensive review from HM Government, in tandem with policy recommendations from the Cato Institute (cato.org), has decided that the occurrence of global warming can only serve as a benefit to the world. Studies indicate that global warming has increased bio-geographical diversity, and has increased stability in climatological systems. Therefore, Eurasia no longer will participate in any programme to reduce emissions in the name of preventing global warming.

I wise not to be rude, but remind me to not give a damn about you when your below sea level.

OOC: Please keep posts IC unless marked as OOC. By the way, the poles melting will hardly sink my whole nation. As the aforementioned Cato Institute mentions, the "balance of internally consistent evidence is that Antarctica will gain ice in the next century."

In accordance with the policy previous mentioned, the nation of Eurasia is withdrawing from the Kyoto Protocols.

To the Nations of the World,

Gauthic does not agree that there is sufficient evidence for the phenomenon known as "Global Warming". There is no significant increase recorded in worldwide temperatures, but simply record temperatures being seen for the first time in human history, since accurate weather data has only recently been recorded in the latter years of the past century.

As for emmissions, immeasurable amounts of "green house gasses" are released by geological and biological processes every day. To think that this can be regulated is foolish.

Most other data about global warming is pure fabrication.

It is also worth pointing out that the reduction of ice in water decreases the water level. Gauthic would benefit from the increase in land mass that global warming would have brought, if it were real.

There are many other ecological problems to worry about, and we agree with Eurasia that the best course of action for global warming, is to do nothing.

"It is foolish not to take advantage of the increase in ecological awareness in the public. Instead of shrugging off the once all-consuming fear of global warming, we should take action against all forms of pollution, with or without the possibility of global warming looming overhead."

"Although the USSK does not use global warming as a prod to get it's people and others to take care of the the natural world, it is important to stress eco-friendly solutions anyways for the sake of social health and conservation of the natural world to study and document."

"I strongly urge all other countries to not take advantage of this time to relax it's guard against ecologically hostile policies and production. If anything, this is the time to strengthen our stance against them, for us and for the futures of our respective countries."

Well said Korbonis and laws have been passed to make Somethingey more eco-friendly. For instances aabout 85% of Somethingey's power comes from off shore nuclear powerplanets.

The Imperial Democratic Republic would like to remind the Britannic Commonwealth that it should still use things like ethanol, wind power, solar power, etc. for the reason that it will not run out. The world will eventually run dry, so it's nice to have a back-up.

The United States finds Eurasia's position on Global Warming to be unfortunate but nonetheless applauds their decision to leave Kyoto. Kyoto was a failure from the get go and has done nothing to contribute toward the fight against climate change. In fact, nations who attempted to implement Kyoto not only found their economies stagnated but also proved that mandatory carbon cuts are almost impossible to enforce without high cost of political power and jobs.
Nonetheless, climate change is real and while we can't stop it, we call on Eurasia to join us in assisting people around the world to adopt to it.

The Lone Alliance finds that the nation of the Britannic Commonwealth of Eurasia must in fact be either corrupt or idiotic. Either way we encourage the populace to find some way of changing their government. ((OC- Since this affects (and I'm looking for an excuse to..) my annex holdings on Terra-Sol, namely Japan and it's islands, as well as my coming diplomatic 'inclusion' of the fictional Kingdom of Molmol, (yes laugh, but I ended up including it in a special moment right at the moment of Foundation in my nation site history page, telling the story of Foundation.)

After the events with the Free Worlds involving BritLond, the Sphere grew concerned with the goings on on Motherworld Terra, centered on the Gaian progress of behind the scenes technological innovation that was making the nation of Japan a technological powerhouse.

Of Emperor Shiratori Usaka's concern on hearing the ecological situaion being 'condoned' by other nations, was the effect on his own population, for the obvious reasons.

He was pleased to hear from Prime Minister Irazuki Sado of the equal concern from the Sphere Council itself. It was interesting such a vast power of the stars would continue to concern itself with the warefare of one small tract of land and it's inhabitants. For decades now the Sphere influence had advanced the nation's own interests quietly to almost Sphere colony status in technology.

All that was missing essentially were the holographics and the Hikari Trees. Also was formal open control by the Sphere over the territory. It was not expected to actually ever occur. Shiratori equalized the 'annexation' of his nation, as persay, the building of the Taj Mahal of ancient note. An act of love for a wife, rather than an act of territorial concerns

With news of BritLond's announcement, the Sphere returned to the secret program where the last 'upgrades' of the civilization there, where soon a formal fusion reactor would come online, and with it, a basic Climatizer unit. The same technology that controlled the weather climates over all the worlds of the Core Republic was ready to be activated, the unit built underground near Furano in Hokkaido island, in the shape of a mere telescopic observatory array within the surrounding mountains.

But that wasn't the only things in store. The first plans for tectonic stable underwater citydomes and connecting tunnelway trams were ready. A standard on water planets in the Sphere, the Japanese would be able to expand in a different area, while learning to coexist with it all. Travel to the outlying island possessions would be possible as well.

But that wasn't all. Eco-friendly genetic processes was ready to introduce ability to replenish marine wildlife stocks, both to increase food supply as well as increase eco-habitational stability. The processes had been studied to exhaustion back even in NAIS laboritories and lecture halls, the environmental concerns addressed, and even practiced on Confederacy worlds that required a literal rebuilding of aquatic cultures after Dark Eternal stripping activities ages before.

However to keep it all hushed, the new discoveries would be 'shared' with another island realm, one that had a major and pivitol, though historicaly cloaked, moment for the Ascendancy. Diplomats would be starting talks with the Island Kingdom of Molmol, an overlooked island chain somewhere in the south-central Pacific that stradled both sides of the International Date Line.

Through them, with a second 'annexation', the new innovations along side the fusion reactor upgrades would flow from Molmol, and hide the real truth from the Japanese, for a while longer. Between all of it, the frowned upon acts by BritLond and others would be counteracted without their knowledge.

Yet anyway. The time was slowly coming when the annex holdings in question would halt their ignorance and realize better 'something' was going on. The Sphere also realized the splintered nations of Earth were proceeding in various wavelengths, some more advanced than others.

An ideal of a unified earth wasn't going to go into the stars as one entity, was going by the wayside. Examples of the Woodians, Theaoans, Eurasians, Trinity Blood among many others was showing too much otherwise. A growing note some nations were breaching the womb and others not.

In such a light, if the Japanese grew indeed all too knowing, and 'looked' for the truth in the end, the Sphere Council was prepared to formally reveal it's existence and declare the annex holdings formal Sphere territory, and it's citizens called the Sphere's own.

All the same rights and powers included.

It would be interesting how the other nations would react to a star nation claming a part of a small chunk of earth as it's own, with all the rest of controlled space that it held.. When the story of Foundation was however included in the already prepared series of talks the Council long had stored away in archives, the strange twist wouldn't seem so overbearing at all.

The Gaians didn't mind coming back home at all. And no irresponsible environmental acts would deter this course, as far as the Sphere could help it.

All of this however would take a good year to proceed all with, from the time of BritLonds annoucement. However patient the Sphere was though, the same patience had quick action if need was forced.

All hail the Emerald Mother and blessing of the Silver Maiden upon you. You cannot imagine our pleasure to hear that a powerful nation like yours has decided to continue, and we hope, increase the pace of global warming. We also hope that you will help strip the ozone layer.

For too long has humanity put itself and its needs above that of the environment. Let yours be a nation to guide others so they too will better the earth through their efforts.

His Most Holy Highness, Emperor Aramius I, Long May He Reign, wishes to send his congratulations and commends the Britannic Commonwealth of Eurasia. For far too long, doomsayers and fools have harped on about how we are 'destroying our world' and 'dooming future generations' through this so-called phenomenon of 'Global Warming'. It is good to see yet another government see the truth.
