Primdaltos, Lagoos City

Kelvin's SUV pulled up slowly to the Primdaltos National Archive, and he looked swiftly around. Three guards on each side of the gigantic double doors, cameras on both corners and above the entranceway. He had seen easier buildings to enter, but he has seen harder as well. With a slight nod, Kelvin exited the SUV, pulling on a black hood to blend in with the 8:30 sky. Six men exited the back, and the driver did as well. They all pulled on identical hoods to Kelvin's, and strode toward the gated entrance about fifty feet from the actual doorway, out of sight at this time of night. One of the men from the back made short work of the locked gates with a crowbar, and they were in. Kelvin signaled the men to split up, and they stalked towards the guards' backs, simultaneously dispatching them with shots from silenced submachine guns.

Ignoring the cameras, Kelvin went to work on the locked door, using an electric lock pick to quickly gain access to the Archives. Once inside, he walked directly to the center of the building and opened his pack. Inside sat just enough explosives to do the necessary job, and to do it well. He dropped the pack and armed the detonator, quickly signaling his men to move out. The SUV soon screeched away, and the Primdaltos National Archives were no more.

National Archives Attacked!

The Primdaltos National
Wesley Atrach

Primdaltos shook late last night as the ancient National Archives, erected several centuries ago, fell to the ground. An unidentified group of terrorists bombed the Primdaltos National Archives around 8:30 last night, with an explosion visible throughout the entirety of Lagoos City. Witnesses say there were 8 bombers in the group, driving a black SUV. The attack left all six guards dead, and several billion dollars worth of damage and lost documents have been estimated. No civilians were hurt in the attack, but the severity of the assault prompted Matriarch Kaz to speak publicly for the first time this month:

"We will not stand for attacks of barbarity and atrocity at any level, not to mention one so severe. These terrorists are being tracked as we speak by the Knights, and it will not be long at all until they are executed for their crimes."

These comments stirred a general uproar in the city, as the news sunk in. These barbarians are still on the street.

Matriarch Kaz sat impatiently, her fingers interlocked and thumbs twiddling as she waited for her companions to arrive. Mewa and Kalik might be two of the most equally powerful beings in all of Primdaltos, but they were still as susceptible to traffic as the common city scum. Kaz's grayed hair was pulled above her imposing features in a taught bun, her face was impassive with the events of recent days. The National Archives held some of the most important documents in Primdaltos, documents upon which the Matriarch's well constructed but ill-deserved rule depended. That was where Mewa and Kalik were before Kaz had summoned them. Examining the damage done, and assessing their options was of the utmost importance at this point. Looking up from her brooding, Kaz noticed the mahogany doors of her study opening. Mewa and Kalik strode in together, their black eyes boring into Kaz's as she welcomed them grimly.

"We have been to Lagoos City," Mewa started, "all three documents have not been found. You realize what this means, I am sure. If the validity of our origin is questioned, we have no evidence to support ourselves any longer."

"I know well what it means. Those documents were forged anyway, we can make more quickly," said Kaz, her eyes flashing at Mewa.

"But it will be suspicious, when the only documents that survived the bombing were those that have proclaimed our divinity and led to our rulership, will it not," asked Kalik, her face nervous and tired. Kaz turned to her, indignant and replied, "it may be suspicious, but do you have a better idea? Was it not you who suggested that six guards was enough for the archives in the first place? I have no need for your waste of time. Leave, I must write the documents."

As Mewa and Kalik strode out angrily, Kaz turned to her paper.
