Hoshino Island

Ayla had returned after her long trip to the Scandanvian Territory. Her husband had greeted her instantly. "Ayla missed Kino, that she did."
Kino was more tan than Ayla and taller. He was also quite muscular.


"Kino glad Ayla returned safe"

"Ayla must talk to Cheif, she'll want to here of my progress."

Both entered into a hut and neeled down.

"Ayla, welcome back." The ceife gave Ayla a kiss on her cheek (A culture custom)

"It's good to be back. I was sucessful. They will set up base on island."

"Did you inform them to do it on the southern shores."

"Yes cheif, Ayla did. Ayla also agreed to start up trade of all our food delcacies. Kino and I will fish and then deliver to them. Will take many days but will show great promise."

"Very well Ayla. Yours and Kino's hut will have to be used while you are gone by thoes that need it."

"Understood."


Ayla and Kino set out on their boat early the next morning. By miday they had filled a net full of several small net fulls of all varities of fish. After that they left teritorial waters into wide open seas.

"Ayla love stars Kino, does Kino love stars?"

"Kino loves stars, but love Ayla more."

Ayla laughed. "You big silly you. Your just like when we quarted."

"How much time to land."

"Still many more days. At least the weather has been calm for us."

"How many storms did you encounter on your trip?"

"Ayla ran into 5, but no storms on way home."

She lied against him, and he wrapped his arms around her lovingly. The next morning the sunrose but was trapped by low hanging clouds. Lighting streaked down from a dark and angry sky in the distance, and the water was growing darker. Waves were steadily growing. Ayla and Kino looked to the sky often.

"Storm's commin' in Kino. Ayla don't like how it looks either."

The storm struck with fury. Waves were giant, and the rain was relentless. Thunder crashed and lighting pulsed. The net was growing lose. Kino sat at the rudder while Ayla held tightly to him, untill the net went over. "No." Ayla dove for the net and caught it, Kino pulled her up. "Ayla!" He couldn't say anything more other than hug her. The storm had cleared sometime later, they survied and still had their load. Their small boat was well intact.

"So it's agreed, we set aside these amount of crops annualy for the Scandanvians?"

"Agreed Madam."

"Perfect. Yuki, you and your family have been the finest farmers in our country. I shall double your intrest if you deliver our crops every time."

"It will be our pleasure, Madam Chair person."

As well, they had brought many strong nets along with many iron tipped fishing spears.

"Welcome to Hoshino, people of Scandanavia. We thank you for the gifts you have brought to us, and you will be welcomed on this island."

Back at sea Ayla and Kino were busy recovering from their loses from the storm. Continusly fishing trying to pick up, to make up from some of their losses. Non of their rare delicacies were picked up, so far from home, but it was the best they could do. And the sky was growing dark yet again.

"Nother storm comming soon Ayla."

"See it. It looks like it could be bad."

"Hold on tight, I will guide us into the wind."

"Come, the Lady is Expecting you."

"Lady Nihal, our visitors have arrived."

Nihal was a young tan woman with hair to match.

Entering a few Valgardian nobles dressed in silk and silver plate mail the leader of the group bowed, as did the others, and then the leader said," We thank you for having us Lady Nihal to your lands and we hope that our gifts to you and your people may serve you well. As you most likely know we have been sent here by our Empire to discuss with you our recent agreements and we wish to know what you wish to discuss as in our culture the host always opens the conversation."

"Yes of course. Would you like some water?" A few aids poured some water into bowls. They could simply set them aside if they did not want them.

"Once again it is a great pleasure to meet you. I hope the heat of the island isn't too much for you. Hopefully the Sun Goddes will will allow her Rain Servant to bestow water upon us."

The Valgardians chuckeld a bit then replied," Well, yes as people from the northern lands we do not care much for this heat as we honestly perfer a cool climate, in fact we would be quite comfortable living in the frozen north in all the freezing conditions year round more then the humid hot lands that you live in. Though a glass of water would be quite nice in this hot weather."

"So what can we offer as trade for your nation. My diplomat and her husband have set sail for your nation with many delcacies. But is there anything else?"

The leader of the group of Valgardians talked to one of the other Valgardians then said," If their our no concerns for you then we have no more questions and we shall keep to our previous arrangments nearly to the exact letters as what we orginally agree to. Also, we shall keep an eye out for your two sailers in our cities as we shall do our best to help them out."

"Oh well then, you have my grattitude. And regarding your Souther Base, I will see to it you are undesturbed there."
