The Prosperan Government happily endorses the Pan-Pacific Free Trade Agreement proposal. Perhaps reprsenatives from all three countries should meet to discuss this proposed treaty in more detail.

His Imperial Majesty Ilahi Selassie, Ruler of the Orthodox Empire of Abyssinia, would like to extend a cordial hand to all nations of the globe and invite them to exchange diplomatic relations with ourselves.

He invites President Whitmore to accept his friendly offer.

The United States welcomes relations with Abyssinia.

We agree with the Prosperan proposal for direct talks as regards the Pan Pacific Free Trade Agreement. PPFTA is currently the centerpeice of President Whitmore's foriegn policy. He believes that with more free trade, there will be less wars, less insurgencies, and the people of the involved nations would be much happier.

Incorporated States of Gauthic
Office of Prime

Greetings All,

The Incorporated States of Gauthic is very open to free trade between every nation. Many resources are scarcer than we would like, rarer than we would like to admit. Goods and services are affected by this, and poverty usually comes from the lack of trade or the lack of taking responsibility.

There is MUCH to discuss about the situation in Gauthic, as well as what Gauthic can do to improve other nations.

I would be honored to be a part of these talks.

Signed,
Anthony Malcolm, Prime

OOC: I'll start a thread for the free trade talks in a moment so we can get that rp going. This one will be left for initiating diplomatic contacts.

IC: The President is happy that the free trade talks for the Pacific are moving forward and hopes for their success. If it works for the original 3 nations, we may want to bring in the other Pacific region nations particularly governments in asia and latin america. President Whitmore, notes that this has the potential to be the biggest trading bloc on the planet.
However, the move toward free trade is not without controversy on the home front as blue collar unions continue to denounce free trade and blame foriegners for "stealing jobs". Some members of Congress have decried free trade as an assault on American values.
President Whitmore has said, at a speech he gave to the American Businessman's Association, that free trade was in the interests of the American workers and the American consumers. "Americans will benefit from free trade with the other Pacific nations." he told them.

Statement of the Government of the Britannic Commonwealth of Eurasia

At this time, HM Government feels that a close relationship with the United States is not in Eurasian interests. With US hegemony posing a serious threat to global stability and harmony, and seeing as a large Western power-bloc would enrage many throughout the world, Eurasia will refrain from strengthening diplomatic ties.

Signed,
Phillip Robert Sinclair
