Press Release from the Allanean Arms Corporation

Have you heard of our company?

If yes, you must have mostly heard of our military products - tanks. Guns. Battleships.

But Allanean Arms is surely much more then that. We also make civilian products - and today, we would like to talk to you about our cars. The famous Allanean automobiles that are the pride and joy of Allanea's civilization can now be yours - for a simple price.

All of the Allanean cars share two features. First, they are ALL to some degree SUV's, that is, all of them have four-wheel drive. Second, they all are avaiable in either advanced diesel engines (allowing for use of zero-emission biodiesel, ethanol, artificial oil, SVU, or other environmentally-friendly fuels) or in electric-only engines. This is because Allanean Arms does care about the environment.

Here are some of the cars:

Developing State Automobile - this is a very cheap light SUV, similar in form to the Soviet Gaz-469, but even cheaper. It can be purchased for approximately $5000 in it's base variation (no airbags or safety belts), or for $6000 in it's 'safe' variation (with the above features).

Urbane Lady - this two-seat urban SUV allows for the security of a four-wheel-drive and the roominess of an SUV - but in a smaller package, perfect for college students, urban businessmen, and other consumers. The cost of this vehicle is $15,000.

Panther-5 - this is a regular family SUV. It carries the usual luxiries (sound system, DVD players for the passengers, GPS navigator, and so forth) and safety systems, and is availalbe for just $25,000!

Rhinoceros - this is our rendition of a workhorse. Available both in a 'pickup truck' and a 'tender' configuration, the Rhinoceros can carry as much as three tons of goods - and is every bit as comfortable as a family car. Using your car to work for a living? Then the Rhinoceros is just for you for only $20,000!

Hatarphant - like the Hatarian hatarphant, this minivan is big and strong -and it has four-wheel drive like all other cars and trucks in this range, and - like all our other vehicles - Mother Gaia loves it, too. And it can be yours for $18,500

Hummer-8 -this is an Allanean rendition of the old Humvee concept, of course with a variety of luxuries and safety gear and the usual Allanean environmentally-friendly engines - available for a low, low, low $75,000!

OOC: Well... this isn't a storefront. I don't think storefronts are good for civilian stuff. Also I didn't bother to do much stats, because, well, I didn't think stats are all that important for civilian products except maybe as visualization aides. I have stats for the DS somewhere, though. Anyway, don't bother RPing a storefront unless one of your government agencies wants these cars. Instead, just post how many are sold in your nation to civilians, preferably per year. Also this is the thread for any controversy that might arise due to the sale of these cars.

Well, seeing as we're about to get rid of automobile industry tarrifs, you are more than welcome to start up to 15 dealerships in each of our cities. While there is no minimum wage, with the high proportion of college education citizens, good luck finding low-wage slaves.

Well, for a nation of 2 billion, many of whom are conspiciously affluent, i'd wager at around 300,000-400,000 in the first year, many more afterwards; especially if you keep up against competition.

Up to this point, MassPwnage had been importing the Developing State Automobile from Allanea for the past six decades.

The Developing State Automobile seemed almost perfect. It was rugged, strongly built and simple to maintain. You could simply take a hose to the interior if it ever got dirty. Biggest problem was the engine. The inline-4 under its hood, was simple to maintain and cheap to make, but it made a positively anemic 95 kilowatts, not enough to pull yourself out of a deep sinkhole in the back country or get decent speed on the superhighways in MassPwnage's cities.

Finally, MP Motor Works managed to talk the Allaneans into building their own assembly line in Daducheng. Of course, many of the parts were made in MassPwnage, cutting costs to domestic consumers. The engine, a turbocharged boxer 8 was Pwnage made, and it produced more than 190 kilowatts, twice the power of the old engine. Of course, a new transmission had to be built, rather stolen, off of the Allanean Rhinoceros, but finally, the Developing State Automobile could get up to proper highway speeds, and the heavier transmission lowered the car's center of gravity, making it much more stable and less likely to flip over in an accident.

Common Pwnage additions to the DSA usually included an all-metal roof, power steering, bull bars on the front (for those nasty collisions with roadkill), an expanded radiator (because it gets really really fucking warm in MP), a waterproof radio, seat belts, head restraints and airbags.

MSRP is $7,500.

The Allaneans were extremely pleased with these developement - so much so they decided to market the MassPwnage invention under the name 'Blazer'. Of course, the men responsible were all paid large sums of money by Allanean Arms, and some even hired to work for the company.
