Douglas Shaw stood near his Range Rover and watched the boxy freighter pull out of the harbor through the binoculars. The 5 men who stood near him wore various shades of camoflague and were well armed with G3 and FN FAL rifles. The ship, SS Penshire carried the last equipment and men of the British garrison that had formerly policed the area around the capital. Shaw couldn't help but smile, after 17 long years of campaigning and and two years of open revolt Tolvan had finally drove the British back home. Now it was time.
He turned to one of his men and spoke. "Send it right away."
With that he got into the SUV and sat back as the driver set put for his residence in the Government House.
**OFFICIAL COMMINQUE**
The Commonwealth of Tolvan offically announces it independence from the imperialistic and exploitative rule of the Britain. It has been a long and costly struggle but the freedom we now enjoy is worth every drop of blood valiant Tolvanic men and women have spilled these last two years.
At 6:00 AM this morning, Douglas Nathan Shaw III was sworn in as Director of the Provisional Government pending elections to establish a legislative body and head of state. Director Shaw's first official act was to rename the Tolvanic Liberation Front's Paramilitary Command as the Tolvanic Army. In addition funds have been set aside for the formation of aa air force and navy to be tasked with defending our great nation and ensuring that never again shall a Son or Daughter of Tolvan salute to a foreign flag.
