The sun was low over the Bamako skyline in the evening as Mehmet Bengazi sat in his desk. He had been discussing the situation in Western Sahara previously with General Ungawa and had formulated a plan. They figured the only way to get away with this was to make such a long and ckandestine trail that it would be impossible for the RUN to figure out what was going on or who killed their king. If the people who knew were dead, how could you track who did it? Bengazi reached for his phone and dialed a 5 number address.
"Hello?"
"The Cat has grown too large, Akhmed." and with that, Bengazi hung up.
Meanwhile, 200 miles away, Akhmed Hassan hund up the phone and walked outside the bunker. He approached a concrete barrack that read 'IWD' on the door and entered...

As akhmed walked in, the group of men in the room snapped to attention.
"Commander on deck!" yelled the Sergeant.
"At ease," said Akhmed. He walked over to a projector screen and stuck a disk into the Computer. A map of the RUN came up along with info on the kings residence and other such places he travelled. Then a picture of the king came up. "This man here is our target. If he is killed, the lands of Western Sahara shall be ours to improve and build upon." He paused for a moment, letting the IWD men catch up with their notes. He clicked a button and a new slide came up with a picture of a dark black man with blonde hair and a scar on his chin. "This man was in associations with General al-Aziz and is also wanted dead. Unfortunately, he is one of the best sharpshooters we have to offer, so we will need him to eliminate our target, the King, Code Named Fat Cat. Abdul (the man in the picture) is to be codenamed Rabid Dog. Is everything clear so far?" The IWD men nodded their heads as they finished their notes on that slide. "I need you men to figure out how to get Rabid Dog in position to eliminate Fat Cat, then how we can eliminate him afterwards without raising much suspicion. Remember, if we get discovered, the RUN will most likely declare war on the CWAA, a war we cannot win any way we look at it." He paused again as the men wrote more notes. "That is all I have for now. I know you are all capable to accomplish your mission. Now get it done." The IWD men stood and saluted as Akhmed walked out of the barracks back into the cool desert night.

Koudougou, Burkina Faso
Outside a large apartment project , two men sat in the sweltering heat watching one of the rooms. A man was sitting on a bed reading a book when he looked up, set it down, and walked to the door. He placed his hand on a concealed firearm in his bach pocket while he cracked the door open with the other hand. After a few seconds, he put the gun back and let the three men at the other side of the door in.
"Perfect..." said Captain Kwanshe, one of the IWD men outside on the hill.
The four men in the apartment conversed for about ten minutes before a briefcase was placed on the table in the room and was inspected by the owner of the apartment. He opened it to see that it was filled with CWAA Dinars.
The man who owned the apartment, Rabid Dog, was being paid half up front to kill the King. Little did Rabid Dog know, he would not live to get the second half let alone spend most of the first, but he would find that out later.
Meanwhile...
Rufique Dunes Military Base, Mali
In a small concrete room filled with equipment, two men sat at a table with SVD sniper rifle lying on it. Unlike the typical SVD, this one had a fully solid stock for one special purpose.
"Will this work?" Akhmed asked the man next to him.
"Of course it will work! There is enough Semtex in that stock to blow an SUV to pieces. The Antennea goes through the gun and sticks out into the rail, so trust me on this one, even a very well trained miltary marksman would not be able to tell the antennea was there."
"Good work. get this over to the men in Burkina as fast as you can."
"Got it." the other man said as he walked out the door with the rigged SVD.
"I hope this works..." mumbled Akhmed as he poured himself some coffee.

Nouakchott, Mauritania
It had been a while since Rabid Dog had shot anybody, and he needed some practice. The IWD had allowed him to pick up the SVD and head to Nouakchott to get target practice on some bums in the slums. He sat on top of a three story tall building and picked off a few of the vagrants before moving over to the airport. From here, he was going to board a plane to a remote area of Western Sahara where he would be briefed on his mission, then flown in for the kill.

Somewhere on the coast of northern Western Sahara
Rabid Dog approached the 675th CT soldiers waiting for him on the beach and followed them up to a boat.
"So, where am I going?" he asked.
Akhmed stepped off the boat and answered his question. "We are taking you to a remote area in Southern Spain. Once you're there, you are to move up to Madrid and position yourself in the building overlooking the Palace. After you take out the King, a helicopter will pick you up and take you to a safehouse nearby. From there, you will be safely returned to your residence with a fat check in your pocket." Little did Rabid Dog know, everything past him killing the king wasn't going to happen as he would be in millions of tiny pieces after he completed his task.
The men boarded the trawler and chugged out towards Spain.

The trawler chugged along the coast flying a RUN Flag as not to draw suspicion to themselves. As it moved on, a rubber raft drove to shore and dropped off Rabid Dog and the two IWD men, Akhmed and Captain Kwashe. The raft drove back to the trawler soon afterwards as they both dissapeared into the low lying fog blanketing the sea and land.

Somewhere in the South of Spain, RUN
The three men walked through the vineyards of Spain while they headed up their way to Seville to procure a car. On their way up they spotted a lonely house on the horizon. They snuck up to the side of the mid-sized house and looked in the window.
"They have a car." said Akhmed.
"We should get it. Let's take care of these people." said the Captain. The three men agreed, and they formulated a plan.
Ten minutes later...
Carlos was eating dinner with his wife when the doorbell rung three times. 'Who the hell is that...' he thought as he walked to answer the door. When he opened it, a large black man sacked im to the ground. Two more men ran in, grabbing Carlos' wife and throwing her to the ground. The Captain and Rabid Dog dragged the couple out into a remote pond in the vineyard and executed the couple. They tied them together and placed rocks on them so they would sink into the murky water. Meanwhile, Akhmed cleaned up any sign of struggle and found the car keys. The Captain and Rabid Dog met back at the house and they boarded the stolen vehicle and sped off towards their new destination: Madrid.

The stolen vehicle containing the assassins pulled into a vacant lot in Seville and shut off. The three men stepped out and walked into a convenience store nearby. They came out a few minutes later with some beers and a couple of beef sticks.
"Are you ready Abdul(Rabid Dog)?" asked Akhmed.
"Yes, Akhmed. You better not be screwing with me, though. If I don't get the rest of the money, your ass is mine." Retorted Rabid Dog.
"Sure..." mumbled Akhmed as he walked over to the public bathrooms. He walked in and approached a urinal. "Dumb motherfucker...he doesn't know what the hell is going to hit him tomorrow..." he mumbled as he relieved himself of teh several beers he had drank.

OCC: The closest smallest city near Sevilla is Huelva (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Huelva). From Huelva you can take the E-1 to Sevilla and from their the A-66 to Merida and the A-5 to Madrid. Here's a map-http://maps.google.com/?ie=UTF8&z=8&ll=37.492294,-6.333618&spn=1.272662,2.471924&om=0. Huelva is your best bet on where to come ashore. Unless, of course you want to bother with Portugal. Huelva only has a population of 158,000 people or so.
IC: Outside the town of Huelva- After family and friends had not heard from Carlos and his wife for a couple of days, they called the police. Upon arrivaling at the scene Detective Brey was at first confused as the family and their vehicle was the only thing missing. That is until, the family was found floating in a remote pond. After a quick investigation, Detective Brey knew he had a murder on his hands. Putting a APB (All Points Bulletin) out for the families car, within hours a lead had come in, two leads to be exact. A convenience store clerk had spotted the car and called it in. Within hours police had the video surveillance and a full description of what the suspects looked like. Another person had come forward about overhearing a strange conversation while he was using the bathroom. With the destination of the suspects unknown, an nation wide APB for the vehicle and a description of the suspects was put out.
SIC: Unbeknownst to the suspects, when word of an unknown plot to kill him had be leaked- the King had been quietly flown at night to an location outside of Spain. Still, with no new information coming in- the King was expected to return to Spain in a few days.

Somewhere outside of Madrid...
The three men in their stolen vehicle drove down the highway towards their target, the king. So far they had gone by the book: paid with cash, hidden the bodies of the murdered, cleaned up after themselves, and avoided most major population centers. Now it was time for the kill. Under orders from Generals Kazim and Ungawa and even the Premier himself, if anything went wrong, Akhmed was to blow all of them to pieces, that is after Rabid Dog was disposed of. So far the body count was two people, and would hopefully rise no further up than five. As Madrid loomed near, Akhmed prayed to god that everything would go as planned and he could get home.

IC: On the outskirts of Madrid- As in everything, there are always SNAFU'S. As, sergeant López waited patiently for speeders to pass by his radar gun at the ready. Suddenly, he had a live one when his gun went wild with bips and blips. He sure did have a live one tonight, clocking in at over 80 mph, as he did almost every night at this time. When, would people learn that by speeding they weren't getting there any faster and only endangering their lives along with everyone else’s. Flipping on his lights, Sergeant López set off in hot pursuit.
[OCC: This is before, APB has gone nation-wide and before the car is known to be stolen. So, I stop their to leave you there with options on what you want to do. They were speeding towards Madrid when the Captain looked in the mirror and saw the cop following them.
"Shit! RUN 5-0! RUN 5-0!" he yelled as the two other men turned around.
"Fuck..." said Akhmed, "pull over, Captain. We have to play this cool. Hide the guns under the blankets and wait to fire for my order." They did as he said, hiding the AK-74SU, Mac-10, and two handguns under the seat of the midsized SUV. They pulled over and waited patiently as the officer approached them.
"What seems to be the problem, officer?" asked Akhmed through his wide Aviators.

Meanwhile, in Bamako, the General was eating dinner when his phone bleeped out a text signal. He opened took out his SLVR and read the message. A look of frustration appeared on his face as he rapidly texted the Captain back.
Captain, you know your duties. Avoid suspicion. But if the worst happens, you must sacrifice yourselves for all of the CWAA. The impending war this could bring would do untold damages to our nation and its reputation. God be with you.
The Captain sighed and put the phone away. The men had their failsafe on them, ten pounds of military grade Semtex HE, supplied to them for the very situation they were in right now. He hoped to God he didn't have to use it, but he and Akhmed were willing to sacrifice themselves for their nation, especially in a situation like this.

"Dispatch, Officer López requesting back up." "Roger, back up will be there in 10 minutes- proceeded with caution." "Understood". With his gun at the ready, López slowly approached the vehicle responded.
"Sir, do you know how fast you were going?"

If they don't get themselves out of this, our nation...is...well let's just say all of us may be hanging from the gallows together if they fuck this up. We need to distract the RUN's attention away from this issue. We must do the unthinkable, well at thes\ast in the International Community's eyes. I propose we load up an old airliner with some of those convicts from the Quarantine Zone and crash it into some RUN property."
"What about the pilots?" asked General al-Hassan.
"They will conveniently bail out and get picked up by a team of IWD men once the hit the water." replied Kazim.
"Where will it hit?" asked General Ungawa.
"I was planning just outside the costal town of Cadiz. it should pull the emergency personell away from their position long enough for them to kill the King."
After that, the men saluted and left the room, returning to their duties. 200 convicts from the East Quarantine Zone work camp were selected and loaded into trucks bound for Bamako.

IC: "Sir, driving without a licence is against the Law." With his hand ready on his weapon, Officer López continued. However, before Officer López could continue, out of a corner of his eye he saw his back-up had arrived. While, he had spotted his back-up arriving out of his corner eye sight, the rest had been watching the 3 unknown male suspects and their sudden change in body language was a clear sign something was making them nervous.
With his hand still on his weapon, López took a few steps back away from the driver side window. This way, if his gut feeling turn out to be right he have time to react. He, hopped though it was just his mind playing tricks on him because he was certainly not wanting to get into a major confrontation tonight of all nights. What had started out as a simple traffic stop was soon escalating into life threatening situation. Officer López knew he have to think of something and something quick if he was to keep the peace, as all three suspects were getting more and more agitated as time went by.
Thinking quickly, Officer López continued from where he left off. "Sir, if one of your other passengers has his driver licence's, you may continue on your way with your one of your friends driving, but I'm still going to have to write you a ticket. And once you get back to Sevilla your going to need to bring in your driver licence's and proof of insurance within 48 hours of returning home." Officer López continued adding, "And Sir, don't let that happen again."
Unbeknownst to Officer López he had only made the situation worse and soon very soon his life would be in danger, for unknown to him all three suspects were armed and extremely dangerous.

The Captain removed the AK-74SU from its hiding spot and went up out the sunroof. "Mother Fuckers!" he yelled as he sprayed the two police cars with 7.62 rounds. He smiled in delight when he saw the officer who pulled them over go down to the pavement with wounds.

IC: "Mayday-Mayday". These were the last few words heard from the pilot of the EC 135 helicopter codename "Whispered" as it crashed into the ground.
If the suspects goal in bringing down the helicopter had been to drawn more attention to themselves they had succeeded. They sure had racked up an impressive number of dead officers with a now confirmed three to their credit.
With the radios a buzz with activity of the suspects, within an instant the entire police force in the surrounding area was being directed towards the suspects. Even, the military elements were being called for service. No one who messed with the police this way and killed so many fellow officers could expect to get away or for that matter be alive for much longer. Within minutes of the chopper going down, the use of lethal force had been authorised. Whoever they were, these bastards would surely pay with their lives and soon.
Miles ahead of the suspects, roadblocks began to be set up and traffic cleared. While the police were there to serve and protect the public they were also to enforce Law and Order. Something, these unknown suspects knew nothing about, but would soon learn through the experience of tasting cold steel.

Akhmed stared on, knowing his last moments on this earth were most likely close coming. "Oh shit...Captain...you know what must be done..."
"Yes, sir, I do." replied the Captain. Abdul was very confused by this and began shooting off questions about this new "plan".
"What the hell are you talking about!?" he screamed at the two men in the front of the car.
"Shut the fuck up, Abdul. This has nothing to do with you." spat back Akhmed. The car closed in on the road block, which was now but a half mile away.
"No! Tell me what is going on!" yelled Abdul.
"No!" yelled the Captain. Abdul drew a pistol and pointed it at Akhmed.
"Tell me now!" he screamed.
"Never!" screamed the Captain as he lunged at Abdul. He took his hand and whacked it against the seat, causing the gun to discharge several times. Akhmed was hit in the back and let out a cry of pain as he threw his arms over to the wound. The SUV swerved and rocked as the Akhmed lost control. The Captain punched Abdul in the throat, but Abdul came back with a left hook and started slamming his head into the armrest. Then it happened: the SUV carrened into the median ditch and began flipping and rolling around. The three men inside were tossed around and banged up all the way. When it came to a halt, all was still.
The Police just stared at their target in awe as it sat there smoking in the ditch. They saw the windshield was cracked a bit and managed to see a body flung against it. A few seconds later, five loud shots were heard from inside the SUV. Blood spattered on the windshield from the body that had been lying there a few seconds before. Akhmed sat in the flipped car holding the AK with his right arm, his left limp and broken to the side. The Captain was dead; his head slammed into the glove compartment. The late Abdul sat against the windshield with five bullets lodged inside his had and chest. Akhmed smiled as Abduls blood spilt on his broken feet. "Only one more thing left to do now..." he said as he dropped the AK and reached for the detonator. "Let's see if I can get any of these bastards with me..." he grumbled, hand on the detonator. It was his time now, and he planned to go out with a bang.

And so it ended, as most events end-with a bang. Though in time many years from now the true circumstances of what had happen would emerge. This small fact was small comfort to the families of the three dead officers and two murdered civilians, who would have to live with the memory of their loved ones and left pondering why they were killed. Who ever these people were, they had left a trail of death and destruction on their path to what seem to all to be nothingness. Though a through investigation would be conducted in the following months-who these men were and what had possessed them to do what they did would never really be known for the many decades that were to follow.
In the meantime, the police could do nothing, but stare at the burnt out wreak. In time, things would return to normal, but forever now this event and all it had touched would leave them all asking but one question.
Why?
