Short Name(s):

Executive Branch
Chief of State:
His Divine Majesty Rhedick I, god-king of Immyr

Head of Government:
His Divine Majesty Rhedick I, god-king of Immyr

High Lords of the Realm appointed by the king from candidates selected from and by the Ecclesiarchy. The Lords of the Realm are responsible for enacting the will of the god-King. The nine Lords are as follows, in order of authority:

• The Ecclesiarch of the Adeptus Ministorum (also known as the Arch-Bishop)
• The Master of the Administratum
• The Inquisition Representative
• The Fabricator-General of the Adeptus Mechanicus
• The Grand Provost Marshal of the Adeptus Arbites
• The Paternoval Envoy of the Navigators
• The Master of the Astronomican
• The Grand Master of the Officio Assassinorum
• The Master of the Adeptus Astra Telepathica

Legislative Body:
Laws are proposed, debated, and voted on within the confines of the Adeptus Ministorum (Ecclesiarchy). Final approval of the law rests with the god-King and laws struck down by His Divine Majesty cannot be revisited.

Judicial
Religious Court (half the judges are appointed by His Divine Majesty himself and half by the Adeptus Ministorum)

Populated systems:
The Theocracy of Immyr resides in what is now known as the Gaias system, a single star system with a total of five planets in attendance of that one star. The Gaias system itself is only one of a hundred or systems, which comprise what is known as the Charybdis Cluster. Of those five planets, only two find themselves within the liquid water zone and can therefore be considered habitable by Immyrian standards. The five planets in attendance of the star Gaias are known simply as Gaias I, Gaias II, Gaias III, and so on, with the Theocracy occupying the fourth planet, Gaias IV

Gaias I is essentially a large rock in space, devoid of any life. It does however serve as the Royal Guard’s proving ground and training facility. Gaias II is a gas giant, useless to the Theocracy at this time. Gaias III is an M class planet and considered habitable. No attempts have been made to settle any portion of the general population on Gaias III however. Efforts to do so have been bogged down in debate within the Adeptus Ministorum. Gaias IV is home to the nearly 800 million inhabitants of the Theocracy of Immyr. A beautiful planet with a single moon in orbit, Gaias IV is truly a gem in space. Gaias V is a lifeless planet. Immyrian survey crews are currently engaged in ascertaining what, if any, industrial value Gaias V may pose as preliminary scans have hinted at significant resource deposits.

Economy:
While self sustaining in it’s current incarnation, the economy has stagnated as the Ecclesiarchy enacts more a more laws aimed at bringing all aspects of daily life under the Church’s control. Growth has been flat at best and those few products that can be exported are taxed so heavily as to make them almost uncompetitive in other markets off world. Imports are burdened by heavy tariffs in addition to “moral” examinations by representatives of the oppressive Holy Inquisition.

Technology:
Technology of all types advances only slowly as every aspect of research, design, testing, and implementation is controlled by the most secretive organization, the Adeptus Mechanicus.

Military:
The Theocracy’s military consists of three main branches. By far the largest, the Navy is well equipped and capable of action outside of the home system. However, due to limits imposed industrial capacity (the Theocracy is a smaller nation relatively speaking) the largest vessels in the Navy are battleships, of which there are only two in the entire force. The remainder of the Navy’s forces are comprised of smaller but no less capable grand cruisers, cruisers, and destroyers. It should be noted that currently, the Navy is comprised over just over 80 vessels including the two battleships, Litany of Fury and His Will.

The Royal Guard is a highly trained and well-equipped force that fills both the traditional role of any marine corps and that of a standing army. The standard unit within the Guard is the Regiment, which are founded by individual cities and then absorbed into the Guard.

The Templars are the greatest of the god-King’s soldiers. These genetically altered and highly indoctrinated super soldiers and the stuff of legends. Organized into Chapters, they are the god-kings sword. Their loyalty is unquestioned, their bravery unbreakable, and their ability unmatched.

OOC: If you can't tell already, I have borrowed liberally from the WH40K universe and then added just a few touches of my own. Obviously, the Theocracy is modeled after the Imperium of Man with the only real differences being the size of the respective nations and the fact that the god-King of Immyr is in fact fully alive as opposed to the half-life of the Corpse Emperor. This factbook will be updated regularly as the Theocracy evolves. I'm looking forward to RPing with the lot of you.
