BREAKING NEWS FROM WWN (Wanderjarian World News)!

In an unprecendented move by the Prussian Government, they have announced the formation of a new Military Korps, Die Ausländische Brigade, or The Foreign Brigade. Moddled after the French Foreign Legion and its Spanish counter-part, Wanderjar hopes to create a legion of troops who wish to start a new life within Wanderjar, but begin with service of their new found home.

The publication on their internet recruiting site was as follows:

Have you ever wanted to get away? Start a new life where past sins or mistakes are forgotten, never to reemerge and haunt you again? Or do something so romantic and courageous, that a past love shall once again take notice of you? Or do you merely want an adventure? To go on that great crusade, which only in books and movies seemed real?

Then join the Legion.

You will become a soldier within the ranks of the Prussian Wehrmacht, a respected gentlemen, feared warrior, but most of all, a man. With your past erased, and a clean slate, you become a new person, and open to all benefits which Wanderjarian citizenship entails. However, you also are permitted to keep prior citizenship, and as such may return home upon completion of your service.

The training is intense. You shall be tested mentally, as well as physically, but through comradery and sense of pride within your self and espirit de corps., you shall find success, and ultimately become a warrior without equal.

To begin, you must enlist. You will sign a contract which states the benefits, risks, and rewards for enlistment. At the bottom is a dotted line which you will sign if you accept. Once signed, you cannot back out, and are officially Legion property until your enlistment runs out. Enlistment periods are Five years, however there is a six month "trial" period, but this shall be explained later.

Training lasts for five months. Your first month shall be spent becomming a Legionnaire. You will learn the rules and traditions which we wish to indocrinate into you. You shall learn what it means to be a Wanderjarian, and learn its heritage and language (German/Deutsch).

After this, so begins the training. It is harsh, with intensive forced marches, runs, exercises, and sleep deprivity. You shall be taught and led by Wanderjarian Officers who have been in combat, and know what you need to learn in order to survive. We have your interest in mind, and feel each one of you is an investment, one which we shall wish to see prosper and do great deeds. This training lasts ninety days, at the end of which will come a one hundred sixty kilometer forced march, and immediately afterwords, graduation and presentation to each soldier the Schwarzer Hut, or "Black Hat".

The last month of the five is spent learning your position in battle, called Advanced Personal Training Course (APTC). Here, you learn the skill which you shall utilize over the course of the next years. This may be any number of things, including various infantry positions (riflemen, grenadier, sniper, machinegunner, etc), Armor (which involves training as Tank Driver, Gunner, Loader, and Commander), Artillery, Cooking, Music, Administration, etc. Any of these career paths are equally favored, and ultimately necessary for the success and honor of the Legion. After thirty days learning your position, you are assigned to your Bekämpfen Sie Regiment, or "Combat Regiment". These are the military units which compose the Legion, and will be the organization you shall work with for the coming years.

As a Legionnaire, and a soldier of Wanderjar, you have no taxes. You are given a home, and are paid 2,000 Walloons (Wanderjarian Currency, 1 Walloon= $1.71) per month as an allowence. You may spend weekends off-base, or if you prefer you may stay on. Food is free and you shall always have a place to sleep. Each Legionnaire has 50 days of leave per year, which is a substantial amount, and travel home to visit your home nation is free of charge, however you are required to return home upon expiration of leave.

As previously mentioned, there is a six month trial period. At this time, a consul from your nations Embassy along with your Commanding Officer shall meet with you, and discuss if you wish to remain in the Legion or not. If you do, you shall have to complete your term of service to Wanderjar, and may not back out at any other time. If you do leave, you will not recieve the benefits of Legionnaire service.

The opportunity for advancement is there. After one and a half years of service, you may be promoted to Unteroffizier (Corporal), and after another two years, to Unterfeldwebel (Sergeant). Advancement is based upon tests which you may take at any time after your first year of service, however one may only advance once every two years. One may even achieve Officer's rank, and make a career out of the Legion. After completing your five year service, you will be asked if you wish to reenlist. However, at this time you do not need to enlist for five years again, but rather for terms of two, five, and seven years to ensure that the Legionnaire selects the tour that is right for him.

[Character or Nation RP?]

OOC: Both actually ;) Your nation can give its opinions on the matter, and you can RP people joining up if you wish, and we'll follow them through basic training.

OOC: Thanks mate :D

I merely wanted to give my legion some personality when I add it into my Wehrmacht Factbook, and give a percentage of people from specific nations etc.

OOC: If the applicant has a university degree, do they become officers?

OOC: No, they need to work themselves through the ranks if they are not Wanderjarians.

EDIT: This will help them advance faster, though, and shall be taken into consideration on their advancement tests.

OOC: Just wondering.

IC: Chase Engston tore the flyer from the bulletin board at his workout club. He had graduated from the University of Orielle six months ago, but he had majored in Military History. Not too many jobs for that, he thought as he read the flyer. Wanderjar Foreign Legion.. He shrugged. Better than living at his mum's place for the rest of his life. Plus, he spoke respectable German.

Two days later, he was on a Europa Airways Boeing 777, bound for Wanderjar...

The directions to recruiting offices on that flyer would guide him to New Prussia, Wanderjar, where a building built of brick, with two armed guards with white uniforms, scarlet epaulettes, and black and red hats would be seen standing at rigid attention, ready to lead him in through the high black gate which separated the recruiting office from the outside world. Trees secluded and hid the building, and a long winding road of cobblestone lead the distance uphill to the large elegant building.

It was here that his journey would begin.

A drugged Cnian man sat on a stool, in the Wanderjarian bar of Gute Zieten. He had become a deserter from the Cnian Compulsory Army and thus fore, his own citizenship had been revoked. This had led him down a narrow path of a hitman, his money of which, was spent on drugs and beer.

He didn't want this. This wasn't that path of a Cnian, possible a Bzon or an Anan, but not a Cnian. He pulled his head out of his folded arms on the table and saw a flier. It was blurred, but he could see, "Foriegn Legion". He had heard of such things, such things that could make him a respectable man... a Cnian.

Keeping in mind that he had left the Cnian Compulsory Army because he didn't being forced to join an army, not that the work was too hard. He then got up druggedly and ripped the flier from over the counter, the bartender rightfully mad, but the Cnian didn't care. He marched towards the bricked house of the Legion, his stance swaying, his mouth slightly drueling.

He met the guards, face-to-face, or atleast as much as a drunken man could. Though he did have an appearance of determination threw his astetic qualities.

The Guards merely nodded, intimidating eyes beating down on him. One of the guards moved ahead of him and uttered, "Folgen Sie mir." And kept on walking.

(OOC: If you don't know what that means, it says "Follow me". If you're guy is proficient in German, he could probably understand this. If not, have him basically get the picture that he is supposed to follow the soldier.)

"Ja?" Asked the Guard curiously, approaching the gate, hand grasping the strap which hung the FAMAS Rifle from his shoulder.

The Cnian's stance was immediatly stiffened. His eyes much like mid-evil battle armour. "Schauen, Junge. Ich Dose wahrscheinliche Tötung du mit einem Tasche Messer schneller als es nehme dir zum Schwingen dieses Stück Scheiße über deinem Arm." Althought this wasn't a bluff, he knew he could dis-arm this trooper with his bare hands. "Mich und uns jetzt einfach innen lassen müssen nicht mein Blut oder Ihr verschütten."

"Ja," Chase replied, following him inside.

The soldier did not acknowlege him. He led up the winding cobble stone road and to the door way of the large manor. Hanging from the manor walls, were several Wanderjarian Flags, and flying next to the building was a larger Wanderjarian Flag, and a Dominion Commonwealth Flag. Posters hung in front of the walls, pictures of soldiers in formation, in parade, and Chase surely noticed above all: they were impressive. Their uniforms were immaculate. Their faces rigid and disciplined. As the soldier opened the door for Chase and motioned him in, he uttered in Ezaltian, "Good luck."

The soldier had a quick chuckle at the Cnian's words. "After training," He said cooly, "Then you'll understand why I do not fear you, or any other." And with that, he swung the gate open and led him into the Manor as well.

"Right. I doubt your training is harder than lugging seventy kilos on your back and walking twenty kilometers every other day." With that he walked himself in, apprarently shaking off his drunkeness.

"You my friend, are in for one kick in the balls," And with that, the Legionnaire left the Cnian and Chase in the room together. Soon, a oberfeldwebel would talk to them, and ensure that they truly wanted to do this. Until then, however, they would be left by themselves, with those two being the only ones in the large room.
