The Empire of Commerce (EoC)

There is one thing that drives all men, that brings them power, strength, influence, everything. That one thing is currency. Currency is the god of all religions, the controlling factor and the most important object in the world of economics. Control is not through the truncheon, but through the dollar, the credit, euro, the yuen – and everything in between. We work for not pride, but currency, because that is what makes or break the very foundations of us all. Money.
As such, some gain more than others, others are more fortunate than others, and thus comes the beginning of an empire of cash, an empire where the richest are the rulers, where the influence of one is not through violence and barbarianism, but rightfully earned through proper strategy, through proper cash and money. Where corporations gain controls equal to empires, and corporate leaders are nothing less than gods.
This alliance is to open up trade amongst other nations and their corporations, creating more stability within the global market.
Membership into the Empire of Commerce is as follows:
[1] Nations must not have a military that exceeds 5% of their population.
This stature is in effect due to the large amount of cash wasted on such a nation’s military, and 5% is not a safe nor viable projective for the Empire to accept. Nations must admittedly focus on things better than warfare, such as economics, for them to be accepted.
[2] Nations must have an economy that is deemed by universal nations as ‘All Consuming’ or higher in terms of rank.
Nations must show the fundamentals of being able to control considerable economic influence within their own borders. If they cannot influence themselves to have an economy that is effective, then they are skilled enough to work economic prowess to benefit the Empire as a whole.
[3] Nations must not have asked for economic aid within the past 6 months.
Nations who ask for aid do for two reasons – they cannot pull up the immediate resources as either they do not have the foresight to prepare for such an event, or that they are untrusted by corporate figures or other nations. The second reason is that they do not have diligent management with their own nation, or are beset in conditions that make a thriving economic status within their nation unusable.
[4] Nations must not have a long record of regularly going to war.
While War is always a good asset to a country’s economy, and could certainly provide a stimulus for a nation when in depression or when suffering slightly, arms manufacturing does not prosper as well as one might think. With larger corporations already making mass amounts of weapons, war frequently becomes very competitive, as well as making the country vulnerable to costly counter-attacks. Through war, there is instability in both the nation in terms of inflated prices and the danger of enemy attacks that could cost billions in terms of damage. A nation must not be deemed as a regular warmonger by the community at large.
[5] Nations with a Communist or Socialist background are eligible to apply if they have shown they have capability in terms of economics and maintaining stability.
Nations with equality as their goal may face odds, but nations that have shown that being a communist or socialist entity while being economically knowledgeable are by full means eligible to apply and become a member of the Empire.
[6] Nations must not harbour terrorist cells.
Terrorists, while possible consumers of arms manufacturing, do much more damage than they are purchasing, and it is detrimental to overall progress.
[7] Nations must not have gone to civil war within the last 2 years, or, have demonstrated that they are fully capable of dealing with uprisings without damage to their economy.
Civil wars cause a large amount of shift in the economic structure. When rebels purchase arms, they do not benefit the government they are attempting to overthrow in terms of commerce. Also, the amount of money wasted on rebellions are on the rise, making less money focused on commerce.
The Empire will provide to its members as follows:
[1] Universal Vault:
A Universal Vault will be opened up for all members. Members must pay an annual fee of 4% of their commerce fee. This may be used by any member of the Empire, though once any need for the money (or the required amount is spent) is done, then it must be paid back as soon as possible, with no more interest.
[2] Trade Embargo Freedoms:
Nothing is peskier than Trade Embargoes. As such, supplies will be sent to the nation via open access and money. Nations of the Empire suffering under trade embargo must be expected to repay them to the universal hold once done with the situation.
[3] Economic restructuring:
Nations will be guaranteed economic assistance should they join, as long as it does not provide detrimental effects to the Empire in the long run.
[4] Economic Building
Nations suffering under chaos will be assisted and rebuilt should the need arise.
[5] Common Enforcement Military (CEM)
A common military comprised from the annual fees, the CEM will enforce and make sure that every single member thrives and benefits from their membership. It will also comprise of a tactful fighting force, as well as an anti-riot and all around Shock Army that will be a blend of military training from each accepted member. Nations will be paid on par with the annual fee.
Stance must be taken by members:
[1] Respect
Members must be treated with respect by others.
[2] Equality
There is no social hierarchy, and nations must present others as equals. Nations cannot show discrimination, as that leads to more inefficiencies, and nations must not commit pesky ‘Holy Wars’ against other members when there is no overall economic benefit.
[3] Empirical Values
Members must assess the Empire’s willingness to provide assistance to both colonial and imperial efforts on a single entity first before attempting colonial efforts. Should a nation be under retaliations, they must acknowledge that the Empire may not intervene should a nation be placed in trouble if it finds that there is no profitable outcome in such a conflict.
[4] This charter may and will be changed when needed, but on a vote of majority.
