Economics
The economy is primarily based on agriculture. It has the breadbasket of America and exports most of it's extra crops to the other countries of the former United States. Though the Great Plains does have a couple of cities that are industrial.

Military
The army is comprised of only national guard units. All of the Divisionsthat were in the current states when the break up of America happened are part of the army now. Primarily the Army is only to protect the country, but is trained to take action against any nation. The military has no use of a navy to protect the Great Lakes and has a small air force. The army does have state militias ready in each state if a invasion of the Great Plains does take place.
