Economics
The economy of the Bear Flag Republic is primarily rural and agricultural, though Seattle and other parts of the Northwest boast considerable industry. The Republic enjoys a brisk trade with other Pacific nations as well as the Grand Republic of Texas.
Military
The Bear Flag Republic maintains a fiarly decent sized volunteer military. Due to the small size of it's overall population, however, the military is limited in size unless the Republic is an engaged in a war. The largest branch of it's armed forces are it's navy, which bases out of San Diego, San Franciso, and Seattle. It's Army and Army Air Corp are relatively small, as the Bear Flag Republic feels it has little to fear from it's neighbors to the East.
