"Sir, we have a report from our sources in Germany." The aide set the letter down on the First Minister's desk. The Minister opened it slowly and began to read. Germany had occupied the sudentland.

"This news isnt nearly as pressing as it may seem." Corpelstein said calmly. He was very surprised internally but didnt show it to his subordinantes. "Leave now." He added.

"Yes,sir." The aide left quietly.

Corpelstein set the report down. This wasnt the real issue in his mind. He leaned back in his leather chair and thought. 'This is a good oppurtunity to rid ourselves of the disease within.' Corpelstein sat up again and wrote some orders on a peace of paper.

'Hmm.' He wrote more. This time a letter to both 'The United Arab Socialist Republic' and 'The Social Republic of Voxio' as a bid for support. He knew that if he got a good ally or two he could hold the Empire together, and bring it back to glory, with as little bloodshed as possible.

Dear Friends,

I hope that you will help me to create a world that we can all hope to live a better life in. I am asking for a meeting, nothing more, nothing less. If you great sirs will entertain it. I know our countries have hade differences in the past, but I soncerly hope that we can put that behind us in the hopes for a better future.

From: The desk of Vladmir Coprpelstein, First Minister Of The Shakal Empire

==========

"These came from the First Minister." The aide told the man sitting infront of him. He had an idea on what thye were about.

General Orik read the orders.

To:General Orik

Kill my aide. He is an informer. After that finish reading this.

Immediatly the General nodded and two guards came in and took the aide outside. A few seconds later a gunshot rang through the air and then quiet.

Our enemies at home must be taken care of. I have already sent to the others. They will be aiding you. Move towards lower Syria and eliminate those that dont bow to me.

From:Vladmir Corpelstein, First Minister

Orik sat for a second. Corpelstein had faced growing resentment from the populace latly for ording his increase in military spending. The people were tired of war.

"Captain, order the men to gather and be ready by midnight." Oriks capitain left quickly. The men were 5000 men stationed around Aleppo and they had to start the cleansing tonight. Orik wanted all this to be done with in a week.

ooc: What kind of government are you operating? It does really make a difference in how my government will respond.

OOC:It is a dictatorship, but it allows the poeple quite alot of freedom. See my factbook for more info.

General Orik had his men move house to house of the suspected rebels. Most had been rounded up and taken care of in only a few days. Soon after his depature he had recieved another command to occupy Lebannon with the troops he had. Corpelstein was getting restless. Romania had invaded Serbia and world events were in motion. While most of the worlds eyes were turned to other places Vladmir intended to get a stronger grip in the Middle East. Orik
had to go into Lebanon with 10 000 men. The Lebanese people would hopefully go quietly. They lacked a strong nation comparable to Isreal to the south of the Shakal to the north. The occupation would hopefully be welcomed.

Premier al-Asadi is a busy man. President al-Tikriti is a busy woman. I am a busy man.
However, I will send Deputy Foreign Minister Baqir al-Shahristani over to represent the United Arab Socialist Republic at this meeting.

To:Sadiq al-Basri, United Arab Socialist Republic Foreign Minister

We understand we asked for a meeting and that is what we are getting. We hope that friendly terms will be easily reache dbetween our people.

On another note we have also learned of your want for weapons and other such things pertaining to your own security. We will be happy to assist if you ask. We know you have a deep contempt for Imperialist actions and we understand the feeling.

From:Vladmir Corpelstein, First Minister Of The Shakal Empire

Orik was glad that the Lebanese people were bring cooperative, for the most part. The army was not allowed to loot and if any property was taken from civilians the soldier was to be shot. However, there were those few that insisted on resistance. A few hundred police and militia had blocked off roads and Orik was reluctant to fire. He gave orders to only shoot if they did so first which had happened in a few occasions. Most of the time the resistance fighters had seen that the armies point of view and left without a fight. The small casulty list was in, 58 dead, 92 wounded. A truck had also been damaged but it wasnt serious. Orik expected resistance to continue for a bit just not at a level serious enough to be a threat to the occupation.

Vladmir had gotten the intel report with glee. If allowed the Arabian Knights would gain valuable combat experience and be able to try out the new W-IIIDC armor on a taget that shoots back. He only hoped that the Arabs would accept his offer. If not...Well. Vladmir scanned the world map before him. War was everywhere. He only hoped he could take advantage of it.
"Tell the Arabian Knights to be on call. Even if they arent needed by the Arabs I have another plan for them." Throughout the conversation he kept his eyes fixed on the small country just nestled between the Black and Caspian Seas. Armenia.

"Are you sure?" Orik asked.

"100% sir." Orik read the message again. Corpelstein had ordered him to meet with the 3rd army at Kars. They were moving into Aremia. The Empire needed a good Cassus Belli. It was promised that it would be ready for the end of the month. After that the 3rd and his own, the 5th, armies would be sent into Armenia.

Instanbul, Turkey

Vladmir Corpelstein liked how things were going. The Ukrainian Commonwealth was at war. This took the pressure off his northern border. He had ordered the 3rd and 5th armies to move to Kars. Lebanon had gotten quiet. There were still reports of a few rebels raiding, but they were quicly executed.

"Armernia." He said to himself. The country itself wasnt all that special, just a small bit of worthless land. It was the gateway to the oil sources of the Baku region. Withour oil, the Shakal Empire would sputter out. Especially if it went to war with a middle eastern nation. He had no desire for control of the old Ottoman Empire. To many ethnic diversities to cope with. He wanted a fair sized and solid Empire he could call his own. He had a plan.

5 Hours Earlier

"I will say this plainly minister." He had said. "Our military needs to size up. I want to have its numbers increased by 50% by winter of 1936." HE looked sternly at his internal affairs minister. A smart and capable man. If anyone could manage that it was him.

--------------------

'Now for that Cassus Belli.' He walked onto the veranda. The sun setting on the horizon. In the newly built docks sat the ships of the Shakal fleet. 'Its a pity really. Such an inspiring sight.'
