This is a depression-era rp set in the south. Based off of Emperor of the North and O Brother Where Art Thou.
The Great Depression has hit America hard. Stock market crashed, jobs and money were lost, unemployment was rising. It was a desperate time for many who struggled to survive in a nation that was seemingly falling apart. Organized crime began to rise with the tide as well. A new president just took office, a man by the name of Roosevelt who spoke of a New Deal and hope. Though his words and actions were great, they were slow in becoming a reality and the economy still suffered. There were people who could no longer pay their rents or keep their jobs and lost everything. These unfortunate souls took to the country, to the railroads looking for a way out and off to something better. Down south under the unimagineable heat, these so called vagabonds ruled the rails. The railroad companies sought to rid themselves of these free riders. In these box cars they rest, recounting stories and encountering new people and places. One man living as a drifter is about to get the ride of his life as he travels by rail across the south during a controversial time. His past unknown and viewed upon with suspicion by others. Others join him on his travels. Segregation, murder, poverty, hope, redemption, envy all command the rails. Amoung his stories is of a young girl found dead and a vengeful town searching for a suspect as he is falsely accused of the crime. This is just one of his stories.
