History:

Patagonia stayed neutral for most of World War 1, despite constant cries to go to war from the warhawks in the nation. In 1918 however, a massive leftist rebellion took place in Santiago and the local authrorites were overthrown. The weak king during that time, Abdallah III, failed to send effective military action to quell the rebellion. For the next three years, government forces and left-wing rebels were in a bloody civil war; both to weak to defeat the other, they remained at a stalemate in 1921.

Clouds began to darken over Patagonia. Civil unrest with the monarchy and its puppet parliament were taking ineffective actions with the rebellion and the public spoke outrage over a piece of legislation that might grant the rebel's independence. The national post office in Buenos Aires was raided by both outraged citizens, and communist spies, people insulted and abused parliament representatives for their cowardly attitude; Most of all, they torched the Grand Palace in Buenos Aires. Abdallah III was forced to give up his crown and shifted power to his parliament in 1924. However, Parliament had no experince governing on their own without the monarchy's assistance. This was to lead to the 1925 January Coup and the rise of Fascism.

President Fidel Florez was not a professional politician. He was put in that position because of his reputation as a great charmer and a hard anti-communist. What they did not know was that Fidel Florez was nothing more than another wasted head of state. Florez was drunk most of the time, he had a strange smell around him, and it was known to some that he was homosexual. However, on November 10th, 1924, Fidel Florez took the oath of office and became president. A month later, on December 11th, President Florez signed an agreement with the rebels to allow a armistice and recongnize their independence. This was the final straw for the citizens. Guns were being hidden, bullets being run, and messenger boys spreading the news between leaders. One certain strongman was the most surpreme of the plot leaders, and already had a powerful force behind him. This man's name was Domingo Perez. His army of 600,000 thugs, the Blue Shirts, was well prepared to launch the poltical coup and final preparations were set. All that was needed was a spark.

That spark came in when the President ordered the murder of Daniel Arce, a popular public speaker. He was killed because of his extremist writings for the elimination of the rebellious state in Santiago. He was beheaded on January 2nd, 1925. The coup began the next day from this killing. The Blue Shirts stormed government offices, shooting those who resisted. Perez himself stormed the Executive Villa with a platoon of Blue Shirts. The president was asleep when Perez stormed into his room and decleared "Now a new era has begun!"; he was shot afterwards.

Ever since, Domingo Perez dominated the Empire of Patagonia. He conquered the rebel state of Santiago in 1930 and killed its ring leaders. He began reforms to modernize the nation. Indeed a new era has begun for Patagonia.
