Demographics:
Population: 57.2 Million (1935 est)
Official Language/s Ukrainian and Romanian.
Ethnic Groups: Ukrainians, Romanians, Moldovans, and Russians.

Political Organization:
Official Title: The Commonwealth of Ukrainian States
Conventional: The Ukrainian Commonwealth
Poltical System: Parliamentary Democracy under a Monarchy
Seat of Power: Kiev, the Ukraine
Legislature: 250 Man Parliament from all the Memberstates.
Current Head of Commonwealth: Grand President Wasyl Mykhailo of Kiev

Economy:
Most of the Commonwealth's economy is agricultural based. Mostly wheat, barley, and corn. Usually the Commonwealth has a large surplus after harvest and exports large amounts of food-stuffs.

Most of the Commonwealth's Industries lie along the Black Sea coastline, with most of the Heavy Industry located in eastern Romania and the Crimean Peninsula. Romania also has deposits of oil in the east.

Military:
The Commonwealth currently has no standing army. It's members instead raise armies and protect their own borders. Currently The Ukraine has 250,000 Soldiers, Romania has 125,000, and Moldova holds a Self Defense Force of 20,000. The Grand President, although, has the power to combine the Armies and form the United Commonwealth Army, or UCA. The UCA has little in the way of tanks, but makes extensive usage of Trucks and other vehicles.
Equipment:
T-26 Bolt-Action Rifle. Modeled after the Russian Mosin-Nagant, designed in 1926.
K-21 Pistol. Modeled after the Colt Model 1911. Designed in 1921.
M-27 Grenade. Modeled after the German Model 24. Designed in 1927

The United Commonwealth Navy, UCN, has one task. Coastal Defense. This is why the navy isn't large or powerful. It is made up of mostly smaller ships, with it's largest being a Battle Cruiser Bought from the British Empire. It currently has around 55 Destroyers and 15 Cruisers, including the Battle Cruiser, in service. There are also multitudes of smaller ships, designed to patrol the coast.

The United Commonwealth Air-Fleet, is a sub-sect of the UCN. Currently there are less then 25 Fighter Air-Craft in service. There is also only 7 Bomber Air-Craft in service. Recently, military policy has changed and this should change as the years roll on.

Ok people, this thread will serve as both my Factbook, News, and Diplomacy thread.

It currently has around 100 Destroyers and 25 Cruisers, including the Battle Cruiser, in service. There are also multitudes of smaller ships, designed to patrol the coast.

OOC: I may be wrong, but i have an encyclopedia with all the naval and military statistics of 1938 and only the USSR, Japan, USA and Britain had that many Destroyers. Like I said I might be wrong, the cruisers are fine im not argueing that. Unless you consider them all heavy cruisers.

ooc: if i remember rightly Britain had a chronic Shortage of destroyers, did it not? or was that just up to date ones?

OOC: Angermanland= According to my info in 1935 Britian, surpassed by only the US in naval power, had 200 Destroyers ranging from the years 1916-1935.
I wasnt comdeming it I was just saying it should be lowered to around 60 thats what Italy had in 1939 and it was the biggest fleet on the mediterrainean.

The United Arabian Sultanate Union wishes to form diplomatic relations with the Ukrainian Commonwealth. We wish to set up an embassy in Kiev and shall allow you to set one up in Riyadh. We also wish to trade oil for infantry weapons as our military is in need of renovation.

The Commonwealth agrees to this. You may also set up smaller Consulates in Romania and Moldova if you wish.

Also if you ever need army equipment, don't hesitate to ask. We export most of military equipment.
