"The MIGHTY Blubs will purchase two of these fine ships. (On two years NS budget) These glorious ships will form the backbone of a newer, modernized naval force that the dauntless Blubs are putting together. We will pay $380 billion pennies (1$ USD equivilent) for the pair of ships.

Further, one must be painted green, the other a medium shade of blue! The first shall be named 'The Blubnought' and the second, 'The Blubso'."

You can pay in 5 years with 4 payments of $50 billion (the extra is interest). Of course we'll delay shipment until 5 years.

"It had better be! Err.. we mean, .. thank you. When the superace of Blubs conquer this world, you shall be spared and allowed to live freely. Unlike our enemies, whom we will crush with our tentacles into fine, mushy bone and flesh pulp. We will transfer the funds immedietly for the first ship, and for the second ship upon January 2nd, (Tommorow RL, sometime.) the beginning of the Blub government's fisical budget year."

You misunderstand, 4 payments of $50 billion, over 5 years. The first year is to allow you to gather extra funds. But we shall accept your 52 billion a year plan if you wish.

To celebrate our glorious victory over the Burnsian Fleet, in which 4 Doujin Class Superdreadnoughts were destroyed, General Resources Shipyards has authorized a limited production run of Tribute Doujin Class Superdreadnoughts. There are minor differences between the Tribute Doujin, and while the Tribute Doujin will never be as powerful as the real Doujin, it is still a capable vessel. Cosmetically we assure you of a faithful replica that will be hard to tell from any distance beyond point blank.

http://img181.imageshack.us/img181/4823/doujinbbcnsmallcu6.jpg

That is why the destruction of 4 of the belonging to our enemies is such an important achievement as to celebrate with the construction of the Tribute Doujin.

Design

The Tribute Doujin itself is 984 meters long, 298 meters wide and has a draft of 24.6 meters. This vessel displaces 2,550,000 tons fully loaded and has a range limited only by crew endurance, thanks to its many nuclear reactors Twelve months of supplies and equipment can be carried without replenishment.

The armor consists of spaced steel armor with ERA mounted on select portions of the ship. Between the spaces is a liquid polymer compound then when exposed to oxygen it expands and solidifies into a fire resistant material automatically sealing small holes up to 9 feet in diameter. There are long sensors traversing the entire ship to detect damage and report it to the bridge. Every compartment is completely watertight, and will seal automatically upon penetration.

The ships are outfitted for a crew of 10,500, with a minimum optimal crew of 9,000. There are berths for an additional 4,000 overflow personnel and accommodation and equipment storage for up to 1,240 embarked Marines or Soldiers.

Flight Decks

Like the real Doujin the secondary flight decks are aircraft carriers and the flight decks themselves 350 meters by 70 meters with a combined 46,000 square meters. Each flight deck has a straight landing and take-off runway of 300 meter length, with four landing wires, and each has three steam catapults, two which run off a bow ski-jump set at 6 degrees, and one which goes off at a 15 degree angle to the direction of motion which accommodates aircraft which cannot use the ski-jump for structural reasons.

Each secondary hull has a two level hanger, one level with the flight deck which connects via two pairs of steel gates on either side of the superstructure, and one lower, larger hangar that runs between all three hulls. There are eight elevators in total, two on either secondary hull which run between the respective flight deck and the lower hangar, and four mounted internally that run between the upper and lower hangar decks as well as the vehicle and replenishment deck below the hangar bays. A total of 180 carrier-capable aircraft can be carried with full arming, maintenance and repair facilities, along with accommodation but limited facilities for a further 40 aircraft in an emergency.

The Guns

The Doujin is famous for its 30" Batteries, with each ship mounted 20 of these terrifying weapons within five turrets; three forward and two aft of the superstructure. And the Tribute Doujin mounts the same armament, 20 30" Guns, which are larger versions of the 28" gun currently in service.

Each gun has an elevation range of -3 to 32 degrees, and each turret has a full field of fire disrupted only by the ship's own superstructure. Electrical auto loading mechanisms load the guns as the shells are far too large to even consider being loaded by hand.

The Tribute Doujin also has 12 8" guns with an elevation limit of -5 to 24 degrees to the horizon, and a radius of 120 degrees from the ships lateral axis. 36 3" guns also grace the Tribute Doujin which are primarily anti-air weapons but due to their high rate of fire are also used as defense against light torpedo boats.

An additional 11 dual 40mm Bofors gun mount protect the ship from larger aircraft and can also be used to take down light torpedo boats.

Exactly 100 Phalanx 20mm CIWS guns protect this massive ship from all forms of airborne assault. 50 on the primary hull, and 25 on the secondary hulls.

Missile Systems

Complementing the dual Bofors guns are an equal number of Mk 49 launcher installation weighing in at 5,777 kilograms and storing 21 RIM-116 missiles for air defense.

On each secondary hull, there is are 2 8 celled launchers for the Khan antishipping missile. Another 10 8 cell launchers are mounted forward on either side of B turret and on the rear deck. The Khan Antishipping Missile is the latest in antishipping missile technology, striking at nearly Mach 12, obliterating any target.

The main VLS battery consists of 16 144-Cell (12x12) Dual-layer VLS batteries. They are mounted on the forward deck and to the rear of each secondary hull. These can accept a variety of missiles and allows for a massive missile bombardment capability. The tubes are actually dual layer, with an electrically dissolvable plastic layer shield between each tube. It is actually possible to stack one tube on top of another. A total of 4608 missiles can be carried.

Underwater Weaponry

Like on the real Doujin, both heavyweight and lightweight torpedoes are carried and are launched through four pairs of 533mm Torpedo Catapults mounted in between the hulls to provide a sheltered launch. Up to 120 heavyweight torpedoes and 300 lightweight weapons (including LWTs, UUVs, depth charges and mines) can be carried.

For countermeasures against submarines and torpedoes, there are 60 64 cell waterproof Metal Storm units recessed in the hull and controlled by a steel door. With a maximum theoretical ROF of 1 million RPM, the Metal Storm units can send hundreds of electrically fired explosive 15.5mm rounds flying at torpedoes, annihilating them before they can even get close enough to do damage. Controlled by millimeter wavelength RADAR and with a limited traverse of +/- 5 degrees they can also be angled upward to discourage boarders. This use is not recommended as the rounds are designed to travel underwater.

Countermeasures

In addition to the Metal Storm Units there are AN/ALQ-184 Electronic Attack Pods, along with a Wolfpack Mark 15 Intercept/Jamming systems. These ensure a 'soft-kill' of many missiles which use an active guidance system.

Propulsion

The Tribute Doujin is powered by ten General Resources Mark 9 180 MW-rated Pebblebed Reactors for a combined usable power output of 1800 MW at full running. For backup there are two Mark 5 35 MW reactors mounted in each secondary hull for a total of 140 extra MW.

The ship has full integrated electrical systems, which power 16 turbines which in turn power four sets of General Resources KM-90 Ultra-Heavy waterjets, providing sufficient power for a cruising speed of 22 knots and a top speed of 30 kts. Each waterjet is equipped with a directional exhaust and intakes to improve maneuverability and turning ability. Twelve retractable azipod thrusters are installed along the central and secondary hull, and can provide 360 degree forward motion at a speed of 3 kts. These are used primarily in unassisted docking and when alongside supply ships. Four 2 MW MHD-driven bow thrusters are also installed for close in maneuvering.

Perhaps due to the time needed Clandonian ships yards at Danskeran and Clanon City can be used for construction due to the large spaces of dry dock that Clandonia has.

You've hit the nail on the head. Only in Wasser, and Saharistan do we have dry docks capable of holding them and they are already full. If we can use Clandonian steel, we'll cut $70 billion off per ship we construct in Clandonian dry docks.

OOC: I suppose I can market them as aftermarket additions to those countries that can afford it.

General Resources Shipyards

Due to increasing concern about the utility of non-ETC guns and their lower range we will now offer the first aftermarket addition to the Tribute Doujin Class Superdreadnought.

This package includes upgrades to:

20 x 30" Guns
12 x 8" Guns

Because of the increased power concerns, and the recoil, we'll have to remove a cargo compartment on each secondary hull to add another reactor to power the guns. This package also includes titanium hexagons to reinforce the turrets, along with ERA on the turrets that has to be electrically triggered from a master control unit in each turret to prevent casualties from detonating before entering the full battle and when men are still on deck.

Statistical Data:

ETC Upgrades to:
20 x 30" Guns
12 x 8" Guns

2 more Mark 5 35 MW Reactors on each secondary hull

ERA upgrades to turrets

Titanium Hexagonal Beam Support for Turrets

Reduction of Cargo Capacity to 26,000 tons of cargo space. Additional 2,000 tons of empty displacement.

Cost:
$25 Billion US for Aftermarket Upgrade Alpha
Ships Designated Tribute Doujin Refit Alpha Class Superdreadnought.
