Dyelli Beybi

Elections were afoot in Dyelli Beybi after the toppling and exile of the Dictator and Self Proclaimed Emperor, Pierre Soult. They were called with a week's notice, political parties were formed overnight and nobody really knew who they were voting for, except that some parties had famous people in them...
..Or the Royal Socialist Front did, and they expected to win a landslide in the morning, unless something incredible happened overnight. It was likely there would be some concern. The RSF were hard left, most of the opposition were even worse. The only vaguely centrist party on the scene was the CDP. Dyelli Beybi slept, and in the morning there would be elections...
(OOC: Dyelli Beybi has a 300 member House of Representatives with Mixed Member Proportional (MMP) electoral system. Parties require 5% of the Party Vote to be allocated seats or win a constituency seat. Overhang seats result in other parties recieving less seats proportionally.)
An OVerview of Dyelli Beybian Political Parties
Royal Socialist Front: Led by the Tzarina (a position with no Constitutional Power), Alexia ap Adam, the RSF is dedicated to a reequal distribution of wealth and the consilidation of State Monopolies etc. It is extreme left, but generally in favour of personal liberties.
Christian Democrat Party: The main opposition, led by Henrietta Simms, moderate left leaning in outlook, the CDP is in favour of allowing Private Enterprise to Flourish, while at the same time reinforcing the power of trade unions. It tends to be considerably more authoritarian stance on personal liberties than it's main rival, being totally anti-abortion and in favour of making divorce illegal. These policies go down well in the majority Catholic State.
People's Revolutionary Party: Led by Lunchtime O'Booze the PRP is one of Dyelli Beybi's Pre-Soult parties and another strong runner for the position of main opposition Party. It is Communist in it's economic outlook and favours a foreign policy of 'spreading the Revolution'. It formed the last Democratically elected Government and meddled ceaselessly in the internal affairs of many war torn nations, always seeking to create more Socialist States.
The Communist Party: Led by Alfred Kwan, the Communist party had nearly identical economic views to the PRP, however it favours an isolationist foreign policy. The other Pre-Soult Party still on the political scene.
The Green Party: Led by Bert Nacho. A bit of a joke with negligeable support. In favour of looking after the environment. Has no economic policies.
The McGillacuddy Serious Party: Led by Claudius McGee. Policies include changing the currency to 'chocolate fish' and leveling the city of bath so that the spire of it's cathedral might act as a giant sundial. Widely regarded to be the only serious party on the political scene.
